why did all monkee stans just collectively decide that mike had a very traumatic and sad family life in texas. mans gave us like two small details of his past

I’ve watched this episode several times and I STILL don’t get the “shot gun” joke!!! Usually I’m on the same wavelength as Mike, but I think one of us fell off the wave with this joke!
