randy with his little stuffed benson curled up on his bed hands bloodied from picking st his stitches

hmmm how about the idea of randy wanting to save benson and is willing to do whatever it takes but the catch is that in order to fully bring bensons soul back he has to go all the way back through every iteration of his existence (i.e every or which ever you want roles kyle dies in) and save him there basically changing the man’s who entire role has always been to die to finally get his happy ending

idk how to articulate it exactly but randy being the lamb sent to the slaughter but instead of the executioner benson killing him he instead drags randy back to the people who sent him in the first place and kills them instead

also like its kinda insane to think about how well randy is able to read benson throughout the day like clearly they have a silent mutal coworker type relationship never really speaking but are able to just work in a flow they understand.

And yeah benson shooting everyone is a surprise randy didn’t see coming how could he bensons probably stormed out of work alot cause of Chris or hardy and come back slightly agitated but none the less normal.

But by the time they are at miss beards house randy knows benson is off its benson silently standing in tge doorway hands in his pockets its not the same silence as when they were at the mall with Lisa just observing and you can see randys mind racing as he takes in bensons demeanor and just wants him out of miss beards house because hes going to snap and randy doesnt think hell be able to stop him from killing her

randy who doesnt cry after benson hes able to stay composed and calm as he explains to cops what happened that day. Able to clear his name and hopefully give benson a slightly .. better one. He keeps his head high and puts in applications for collages checks in on miss beard.

Its only when hes going to vist bensons grave for the first time that he has a breakdown in the parking lot of a store because he doesnt even know what kind of flowers benson liked or what he should wear his favorite alcohol or snack to leave and he cant go to bensons house or call him to ask.

how did i not see it before

I think we should have gotten the ending scene to be randy opening the door to bensons room as the camera slowly pans to show off who benson was behind the door/walls he shut himself behind. Now nothing more than a ghost as we see his posters old photos randoms Knicks knacks that now are the only holders of their memories. Randy gently touching scared to disturb he hadn’t really looked the first time he was here. The closet full of mostly black shirts but there more eye catching jackets. A dusty bass. papers, notes, bills scattered around the desk and a few books on a shelf. A small tv squeezed into a corner movies stacked next to it.

He gets a little bit more into the person benson was without ever getting to actually be closer to him.

I bet randy assumes benson has been at bbbs for at least a few years. He wouldn’t know he wasnt allowed to eat or go to fast food places before he got his car and even then he didn’t always feeling like hes being watched like someone or something is waiting for him to mess up.

And benson seems to have himself established here enough knows every position without being a manager hes gotta be here for at least 3 years.

But in reality benson only got this job 3 months before randy. After being let go from his last job because the company shut down due to the financial crisis they were entering. And its the only place that would take him.

ya know if benson were to have found randy standing at the edge of some raised train tracks or a bridge i dont think hed pull him back I think hed just climb up to join him and just stand there and randy is crying and shaking and bensons standing at the edge with him stiff cig in hand staring at the bottom. Hed mentioned that its a painful way to die cause from this height the fall won’t kill him it’ll be the injuries. And it kinda throws randy off cause benson is here but hes not even like panicking or mocking or angry. Jes not even really talking him out of it or asking why just a simple fact of the matter.

I do also believe that the reason reverse randy got obsessed with benson is because he stood up for him against hardy or Chris even customers randy normally would just take it in silence imagining violent solutions but holds back tries to be “normal” thats how its been until benson

whos short scrappy and has a mouth on him who isn’t afraid to tell Chris to fuck off or throw a punch threaten to tell hardys wife about him being a creep. Who asks randy if hes good even though hes the one with brusies and scabs who gets written up and nearly fired if not for the fact they need people.

Benson who smokes out back and offers to randy who simply wants to be .. near cause bensons chatty and doesn’t seem to expect many answers from randy and its kinda nice to actually be acknowledged like a person. Even if benson makes jabs towards him sometimes tells him he should be standing up for himself more fuck these people dont let them step on you they are no better wr all ended up in this shitty place. Randy finds it endearing.

with reverse ranson Mr sheppard really does have to be the final kill and I think benson would only revel this information once hes been with randy long enough emotions running high and he just can’t hold it back anymore

I think itd be when randy would be about to kill bensons ma. After forcing benson to confront her for her distance cold and making him feel guilty for his father leaving growing up and the conversation doesn’t go how randy wanted it should have opened her eyes to her child’s suffering that hes out there fighting and letting others harm and use her son because he doesnt feel loved someone needs to take accountability and she’d cry and apologize and benson would finally get the comfort he needs

But it doesnt bensons ma…doesnt it just escalates into a yelling match and bensons ma tearing him down even more its hia fault they aren’t close hes the one who pulled away hes out there making stupid decisions all because she didn’t hug him as a kid? when she was working making sure hes ungrateful ass had a meal since his deadbeat father got to leave before her.

And it sends randy into a rage hes holding himself back this is for benson has to be for benson but its only when benson mentions being hurting so clearly how could she not notice only to be met with “everyone hurts benny. Grow up. What makes him so special.” ect. Leaving benson shocked tears falling down his face breath coming in quick sessions eyes darting unable to look at the one person he so desperately wants to lobe him fighting off a breakdown. And then he cracks his neck.

It’s only then that randy finds himself moving hatchet handled gripped under his jacket. Hes rushing past benson who grabs his arm with both hands and pleads for him not to please and randy doesnt stop staring at her. Which gets him a nice comment from her as well another freak bensons got himself involved with. Jaw tense he pulls it out of his belt and benson yanks him back makes randy look at him and something does soften benson telling randy he wants to just leave please randy.

And they do not after randy studies benson sees him retreating into himself and he cant have that. So he glares at ma before letting benson lead him outside and back to randys car. It’s only when they drive off no destination no next problem to fix he should turn around and take care of that women why didn’t benson let him doesnt he trust him cant he see these people who refuse to change undo the harm they’ve done to him don’t deserve to live how many bodies does he need to lay at bensons feet.

mulling over reverse ranson and what happens after the restaurant and I do think this randy would kill more than our benson because everyone who has made benson the way he is now so self destructive and angry and broken has done so in a way that is unforgivable really the only one who’d make it unscathed is probably bensons ma cause thats the when benson would finally beg randy to not do anything because even if his was ma was neglectful and cold its still his ma and he loves please

But we’d have randy taking benson hostage folding his bloodied clothes and putting them in the back as benson stands at the passanger door he could jump into his own car randy isn’t even watching him only when he slightly hesitants randy glares over the car eyes cold and a slight shake of his head so different than the guy he worked with for a year and so benson gets in

But would randy be the talker is the question idk…. I feel benson would still be the yapper here asking randy questions like what now? ….why now? getting one worded answers or none at all making benson annoyed and creeped out its harder to survive threats when you don’t know what they want from you…though with his luck in people hed rather be dead than try to appeal. Randy doesn’t seem the type despite Chris’s past comments and so benson doesnt know what he could want from someone like him.

The diner would be slightly different randy crowding benson in a booth making sure he cant run and no one can get to him. Randy who has noticed that benson always sneaks food home or for himself who is scrawny clothes always hanging off him hands slender and always scabbed on the knuckles. So he makes benson order food while he only gets tea. Randys calculated the time and they have at least the day he can take care of benson before getting to business.

reverse ranson is fun cause randys still wouldn’t use a gun so you’d have chris and benson who got into a fight cause benson is not the type to be pushed around and hes bleeding from his nose on the ground as chris holds his shirt collar about to him him again making comments about how benson should be use to being beaten and well thats just too far for randy really and hed tell chris to back off which doesnt go well he drops benson to the floor and turns his attention on randy

He hasn’t had problem with his weird quiet old ass but now he does cause if he wants to beat neighborhood trash and kick them like the mutt he is then he will and benson would be up again and yank chris back towards him about to punch him the face when hardy would walk out and yell at all of them to go to work unless benson wants to get written up again for fighting …again

Which is the cherry ontop cause irs clear benson didn’t start it but hardy never listens to him somehow chris and jess always win and so you have benson angrily wiping trays in the corner and randy has disappeared while chris and jess sit at the table they don’t even look when randy comes back in but benson does and he doesn’t even have time to really realize that the glint in randys hand is a shiny hatchet before randys approaching the table and buries it in Chris skull leaving over and over as Jess screams coating them both in blood and benson can only stand there in shock at first watches as randy chases down hardy in the back and jess is still screaming he moves but not towards the door but the carnage that is Chris’s body standing next to Jess who just won’t stop screaming as blood pools by his shoes

He should feel sick and maybe he will but he cant help the tiny part that feels relief he ways thought hed go out fighting or by his own hand but fate has never been kind and given him what he wants and he only steps back when jess walks back into him hands up and pleading and randy slices her neck open quick and easy

now its so quiet except their breathing and randys turning to him standing tall icy blues and stark contrast to the dark red that coats him and benson hates that hes been here before facing a threat from someone he should be able to trust even a little and so je squares his shoulders and lifts his chin and randy raises the hatchet to his neck but benson doesnt say anything hes so sick of begging in this life hell take it headon like hes always had to a child trying to strong even as tears run down his cheeks and randy just stares likes hes searching for something anything.

and then hes lowering the hatchet and wipes at his face before finally speaking stating simply that “they need to clean up well start with the bodies” and walking back towards Chris dragging him to the floor and telling benson he needs his help hes to heavy

and benson head is reeling to many emotions and thoughts swirling its easy to just listen for now and so he silently does grabbing legs and dragging bodies in silence

randy who goes with his family to a fair thats in town one year while still in highschool its mostly for Haley but he tags along doesnt ride any rides is the designated bag holder really and so while everyone else is in line for a ride he wanders looking at the various games and stalls and eventually passes by the fortune tellers stall he doesnt even glance at it but is snatched back by the older women who is gripping his arm tightly and he should scream or run yank his arm but the women is staring at him so intently as she warns him that his future is soaked in the blood of others warm walls the backdrop to screams and a dark figure with piercing eyes will change the trajectory of his life forever.

Before letting him go and not even charging him for the reading in fact the lady wants him to leave quickly not wanting to be a victim of the bloodied trail hes destined to leave in his life and randy is scared has the brusies from her grip a week after the fair his nightmares become more frequent but after a year the warning fades to the background nothing has happened and he has to focus on graduation.

By the time hes at bbbs he hasn’t thought about it the warning in forever but he cant help but see the yellow and red walls stomach churning with anxiety. But nothing still happens after a year and he finds himself relaxing just a tad and just when it seems like maybe it was really nothing.
