I keep seeing these videos of a guy who records himself dancing on Paris metro station platforms and he'll zoom in on people watching in the background the comments will always be really critical of anyone watching who doesn't seem to love it and I'm just like idk man maybe someone is just trying to get to work and they don't want to be in your video also you're literally on a train platform making people walk around you it just feels so much like the attitude that more and more people have that they're the main character and everyone else is just a background NPC and it makes me feel like I'm going insane that I'm apparently the only person who has a problem with this also the legality of it is irrelevant before anyone starts with the 'legally you have no right to privacy in public spaces' legal =/= ethical it just feels like there's sort of this expectation that people should be willing to participate in your 'content' at all times and that they exist in this instagram reel just for the entertainment value rather than being you know real people
