If any of the other kids learned of Vriska’s role in their session’s downfall, they’d be ready to throw down - but for John, it’s no biggie. He’s practically forgotten about it already.
Nothing really fazes this kid, from life-threatening situations to startling family revelations. At least, nothing appears to faze him - but he can’t no-sell the game’s trials forever. Maybe he’s just putting them all in the Vault.

Something very strange is happening to Vriska, here.
She’s killed before – countless times – and she’s never shown anything close to this level of remorse. Sure, she tried to make things up to Aradia, but that never got very far. Vriska just wanted to ‘fix’ things with her apology gift, and didn’t seem to care about Aradia’s own feelings. It was too self-centered to be a true apology.
For the first time ever, Vriska’s not making an apology all about her, and she isn’t ruining itwith the insults that are normally so ubiquitous among the trolls. I think it’s the first timeshe’s apologized and meant it, and it might signal the beginnings of an actual change.
Among her many crimes, Vriska’s 'murder’ of John is relatively mild - but I think it’s hitting her much, much harder than the others. She’s so worried about ruining things with him that she’s apologizing like a human.
it feels like it’s been a while since i’ve done a fully rendered single illustration like this. two versions here, one with the dialogue and one without.
overall i’m pretty happy with it, although not completely. it’s okay though.

EQUIUS: D -> One time my moirail and I came up with a basic “language” called “meow purr hiss”. Meow represented every noun. Purr represented every verb. Hiss represented every adjective. It was very body language based
EQUIUS: If my moirail beckoned and said “:33 < purr”, i understood that she was telling me to walk with her. If she pointed to something and said “:33 < meow” I understood that she was showing me something. If she said “:33 < hiss meow” and smiled, she’s saying this thing is good. If she says “:33 < hiss meow” and frowns, she’s saying this thing is bad. We spent a whole day talking like this and drove the rest of our friends insane
Y'know, it’s weird how the Egbert house doesn’t have a garage or a carport or anything. Surely a paragon of fatherly responsibility like Mr Egbert would know better than to simply leave his car exposed to the elements at all times.
Ran across this post while looking for something else and suddenly realized that there is, in fact, a perfectly reasonable canon explanation for this, and it is that he keeps his car in his wallet. God this comic is dumb.
