I absolutely love using audiobooks

I absolutely love using audiobooks! The experience has been nothing short of amazing. The customer service is the best I’ve ever encountered—friendly, extremely helpful, and impressively fast.
Every book title I’ve searched for has been available, and purchasing plus downloading onto the app is quick and seamless. The app itself is wonderfully easy to use, reliable, and never fails me.
Overall, this service makes enjoying books effortless and enjoyable. Highly recommended to anyone who values great customer support and a flawless listening experience!

Charged for a subscription I never used

I was charged $10 per month for nearly two years for a service I never knowingly subscribed to and never used. I was not clearly informed about any recurring billing and only recently discovered the charges.
I’ve requested a refund now, but this should never have happened in the first place. Very disappointing experience.

Buyer Beware!

Buyer beware! If you purchase any audiobook, you will incur a monthly subscription fee of $11.95. You cannot simply purchase the audiobook & save it on your device.

When you request cancellation & refund, they will offer you a credit for another audiobook. However, if you accept it, you still will be charged the monthly fee. Huh?! I already paid $30.00+ for an audiobook I didn’t even open.

Check out free audiobooks through your public library or buy a paperback which is a much cheaper option!

If you call and leave a message, a human will not reply to your concern. Instead, expect a computer-generated reply. Awful customer service!

I be filing a dispute since I never would have purchased anything on this site if I knew I would be incurring monthly charges.

We’re sorry you had trouble canceling and that the experience was frustrating.

A few claims in your review aren’t accurate, and we want to clarify. FlexPass is a clearly disclosed monthly membership. The price and terms are shown before checkout, and it can be canceled at any time. Once canceled, future monthly charges stop. Accepting or declining a credit does not keep the membership active or continue billing .

It’s also not true that audiobooks can’t be saved to your device. All customers—members and non-members—can download their purchased audiobooks directly to their computer at any time from their Account page, without restriction.

Regarding support, the only automated messages are confirmation emails letting you know we received your request. Every customer inquiry is reviewed and answered by a real person, not bots.

We understand how unexpected charges or confusion around subscriptions can feel upsetting. If anything still looks off, our support team is happy to review your account and help resolve it.

Don’t bother with audio bookstore

Don’t bother with audio bookstore. There are many other audio book sources that are much much more trustworthy.
Once audiobook store gets your credit card information, and despite your repeated attempts to cancel, they do not. Be sure you’re on good terms with your credit card company and have their pledge that they will fight this with you before you sign up.

I have purchased over 80 audiobooks…

I have purchased over 80 audiobooks from ABS or audiobookstore.com and I have received prompt and courteous customer service by email from Tarah whenever I required assistance or had a question/required clarification. I have the option to download all my titles as MP3 files so I can listen to all my titles on my laptop as well as on Apple & Android Devices. I have also exchanged a few titles with the ABS service: "Don't love what you're reading?" Exchange it! I highly recommend
Audio Book Store for their excellent customer service and their audiobook titles that I have not been able find anywhere else. First Name: John

This is probably the best audiobook app…

This is probably the best audiobook app I've used. The app and website are easy to use and the cost is reasonable, especially if you subscribe. There is a wide variety of books and I love that I can download and listen to the books offline.

Best audio book store!!!

I never write reviews, but after trying so many different audio book apps, Audio Book Store is by far the best I’ve used. I absolutely love that the Flex Pass monthly membership is so affordable and as a member you get all the books at a greatly discounted prices. I also love that if you only want to buy one book without the Flex Pass membership, you can. All the other audio book apps require you to be a member (monthly subscription). Cancellation of your Flex Pass membership is quick and easy. Some reviews state that cancelling your membership with Audio Book Store is very difficult, but if you follow the directions for canceling, it’s actually very easy. I love that they offer exchanges (no questions asked) for books that you are not happy with (for Flex Pass members only). And finally, they have excellent customer support, and are very friendly and helpful. I’ve had nothing but great experiences with this book store. Highly recommended.

HUGE SCAM

Avoid like the plague. Once you register your card you will automatically pay monthly - EVEN WHEN YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP.

The only way to stop paying is by actually emailing customer service and asking them to physically remove your card on file!

To think of how many people they have scammed is heartbreaking 💔

Once your membership is cancelled, we immediately send a confirmation email, and the user can enjoy membership benefits until the end of the current billing cycle. No further charges are made.

SCAM!!! DO NOT REGISTER CARD

Like others mentioned, I also made the mistake of buying an audio book…

In order to buy an audio book you have to register your card. Immediately after I finished listening to the audio book, I cancelled payment (to just pay the 1 month)

HOWEVER, I was unaware they KEEP MY CARD ON FILE. I got an email saying my account was suspended, so. I figured great, at least payments had stopped. Not quite….they kept charging me each month!

Months later I find out payments were continuously being taken out of my bank account, month after month.

At first when complaining I was told they don’t do refunds as per their terms and conditions….however I managed to get my money back as this was in fact a ‘breach of their terms and conditions’ - literally the opposite they tried to fool me with!

if this also happens to you, demand a reimbursement !!

(using an alias name for obvious reasons)

Be very careful when using this site. There is no way to get your payment info off the platform & unable to call any customer service line. I only purchased 1 book and my cc continued to be charged month after month. Finally, I was able to find a customer service email who told me that they will not refund month after month charges because the system auto enrolled me in a FlexPass. The print is so small so there is no way I would've seen that. Just an awful service

Our customer care line is available. When all agents are assisting other customers, our system offers a convenient call-back option so you don’t have to wait on hold.

Customers are not automatically enrolled in FlexPass. During checkout, the FlexPass option is clearly displayed along with the standard one-time purchase price. The choice is entirely up to each customer.

There is no “small print” hiding any details. The checkout process and purchase options are very clear.

I was using Audible and switched to this one

I was using Audible, but it restricts file types. I wanted to be able to download and store my audiobooks on a flash drive to listen in my car since the Bluetooth constantly malfunctions. I love that I have download my books and use them the way I want with the Audio Book Store. They don't always have some books that I want, but I can find what I am looking for about 90% of the time.
