Avoid this circus they like to call a company! Haven or Park Dean Resorts are far better and you get a decent customer service with both. Even booking.com is better, but as for “awaze”they are a complete laughable joke as a company, whether it’s hoseasons or cottages.com, honestly avoid them.

Another 1-star experience: uninhabitable house, no refund

Another 1-star experience here. Unfortunately, Novasol has 4 stars on Trustpilot and one only realizes how bad they are when searching for Awaze.

Uninhabitable house, but Novasol refuses to refund or help
We arrived to a Novasol holiday home on October 4th and found it completely without electricity due to the storm that occurred the night before — no heating, no lights, no ability to cook — making it uninhabitable. We immediately contacted Novasol. Their replies admitted the outage was due to local weather issues, but they refused to provide any alternative, compensation, or refund. Their emails are attached/screenshotted.

According to Novasol’s own General Terms & Conditions, if a booking cannot be completed due to reasons beyond Novasol’s control, the rent already paid must be refunded immediately. Despite this clear clause, Novasol denied responsibility and withheld our payment.

Because no solution was offered, we were forced to secure alternative accommodation at our own cost. We are also in direct contact with the property owner, who confirms that even after three days, the house remains uninhabitable, still without electricity. However, Novasol still refuses reimbursement.

Our experience shows Novasol does not act in accordance with its own regulations. Practical advice: if you book with Novasol, be aware that in case of utility failure, they may leave you without help, a refund, or a place to stay.

Lack of basic business responsibility

As a property owner, my advice is simple: never do business with Awaze/Novasol. Their customer support is non-existent, and our communications have been repeatedly ignored, leaving us unable to exercise our legal rights. When they finally respond—often after more than two weeks—they simply claim that a previous colleague failed to forward the emails. Save yourself the frustration: avoid them, as they will drain both your time and your money.

I had booked a holiday cottage with…

I had booked a holiday cottage with this company, it was £800. per week. I paid a £60 deposit. I had to cancel 8months before I was due to go, they charged me nearly £300 to cancel, as I was on the phone to the caller, the price was going up, he said his manager was telling him the price will go up if I didn't hurry up and agree to the price, because they had my card details. I had to pay it. I don't know how they get away with it. After reading the reviews. I'm not the only one affected. I'm pleased for the customers that have had no issues, because there clearly are.

Awaze.com are an awful company

Awaze.com are an awful company. Their customer service is non existent and the staff are rude and most unhelpful. They did nothing to assist with the initial set up of the property and then put it online for reservations before they were instructed to do so. When I informed them to take the property down, they charged me £605 in fees, stating I had breached my contract. Do not use this company, they will only disappoint you and probably charge you astronomical fees for doing nothing!

Terrible customer service

We booked a cottage with the daughter company cottages.com. When we arrived at the location we found the place was infested with bees. We asked for help by contacting both the owner and the customer service and got no help and, after our first call, also no response anymore. So basically we spent the holidays cozying up to bees. When we asked for a partial refund, they did not reply and when I called them they kept sending me to a different department and responding very non committaly. Terrible customer service, terrible company. I would really advise you to think twice before booking, feels like a scam to be honest.

Don't hire out your property

We hired out our house with this company and got cheated. When you try to cancel the contract they claim it takes a year. They demand 4500euro or keep hiring out your home without your permission. Avoid them like the plague.

Booked a lodge for a family get away

Booked a lodge for a family get away, but then my partner got made redundant. It was 5 month before we were due to go. I rang up the company explaining the unforseen circumstances but they weren't interested even though I'd explained and that I had given them plenty of notice for them to be able to rent it out again as summer was coming. But no I'd lost my refund then told I was going to be charged a £200 cancellation fee! I told them I was not paying it as they had already kept me deposit. A week later I had a court letter through the door saying I had to pay, absolutely disgusting. Money was tight after my partner was made redundant 2yrs on I'm still paying £5 a month. Never will I ever book through this company again. No empathy or understanding of how peoples circumstances can change, Just pure greed.

Customer service and response time is woeful

They are so slow to respond to requests and so rigid with their policies that it takes forever to get anything done. Simple things like changing some text adding a new image or changing prices needs months of patience. Once you are on their books their customer service is appalling considering they take 21% (plus VAT) of your income. Sadly there is only one viable alternative and it gets similar reviews to this.

Cottages.com and awaze are in my opinion truly awful. They make up charges not owed to them. There service levels are appalling. Don't deal with them if you have any other option. They should not be allowed to trade.

Just terrible

If it were possible to give this company 0 I would. They never get back to you despite promises to do so.

They have no coordination between colleagues so nobody knows what is happening to an issue.

They promise to get back to you but never do. They have no contact at all with guests other than to take money from them, so if there is an issue it is down to you.

Avoid this company like a plague if you wish to rent out a property.

Don’t waste your time and money on cottages dot com

I’m a renter not an owner and I’d been recommending cottages dot com for a few years to friends. Awaze owns cottages dot com. I’ve had terrible experiences with rubbish holiday lets where they are listed as 5 star and in my opinion borderline 3 star. There’s no email address to complain and the feedback form doesn’t give you an option to complain. I won’t be booking with cottages dot com again as there’s absolutely no support or come back for renters. I gave a review for the property which was constructive but also had some positive points - needless to say my review was rejected - probably because it was honest. Don’t waste your money folks using this booking platform!

An appalling company to do business…

An appalling company to do business with. Sales person promises one thing then the company do what they want. Comms terrible and they sell prime weeks at massively discounted prices to maintain their own revenues, when you leave they try to take £500 exit fee. I fought this for a solid three months before the idiots in their owner retention team worked out my contract and realised they had no right to invoice me.
