Hettie from Beam did a brilliant job in matching my daughter with Cecilia an English tutor.
Cecilia has helped Imogen no end, she is so enthusiastic & makes learning fun. Imogen is enjoying English again which as a parent is a joy to see & the added bonus of an improvement in grades. Many Thanks

Sophy has been a wonderful tutor for our daughter. She helped her gain much more confidence in both Maths and English and provided excellent support while preparing for the 11+ exam. Sophy is very patient, reassuring, and always open to suggestions. She has a great ability to break down difficult topics and explain them in a simple, easy-to-understand way. Hettie is such an amazing tutor! We started tutoring with her abroad knowing that we would return to the UK and that we wanted to try to get my son into a grammar school. She was so kind and supportive of my son and he learned so much from her. She has so much knowledge of every topic, she is very flexible and she is a lovely person. With her support my son passed both of his 12+ exams for Torquay Boys Grammar School and for Colyton Grammar School. In the end, we took the place at Colyton and he is a very proud student there. All of this would not have been possible if not for Hettie.

Hettie really understood our goals for our daughter’s tuition and worked very well with her to achieve them. She quickly assessed areas for improvement and kept us informed of progress. Homework was always given-just the right amount.

The maths and English tuition Hettie had provided to our year 6 and 7 children has been invaluable and we hope this will continue throughout secondary school.
Far from being second best, we have found the online format superior, providing direct, focused and tailored tuition.
Hettie has also proved (with reasonable notice) to be very flexible, allowing adjustments to our schedule to accommodate various extracurricular activities which will be a familiar challenge to many families.

Our daughter had struggled with maths ever since the disruption caused by Covid, and we were worried about how she’d cope moving into secondary school. Hettie has been absolutely brilliant. She quickly identified the gaps in Maria’s understanding and created a plan that gave her both the skills and confidence she needed.

Week by week, we saw her grow more comfortable with topics she used to avoid. Hettie didn’t just teach to the test; she helped build real number sense and understanding. Maria now feels ready for Year 7, and more importantly, she no longer sees maths as something to fear.

Hettie also supported her in English, which gave her an extra boost across the board. We’re really grateful to Beam Tuition and would highly recommend Hettie to any parent looking for a tutor who’s both skilled and genuinely caring.

Sophy is an excellent tutor. She worked with my son to help him pass the 11+ assessments. Her role wasn’t limited to academic support; she also provided psychological encouragement. His self-esteem improved significantly, and his levels in English and math increased considerably. He misses her classes very much now. She is truly a great teacher.

Hettie was a great tutor, she made the online lessons interesting and engaging so that my son stayed motivated with his studies. The lessons helped him to pass the Colyton entrance exam.
