Good customer service

I ordered 2 dresses before Christmas but they never arrived. Billy J looked into it straight away and found out that it's been lost in transit. I didn't pay the extra insurance but Billy J in goodwill issued a store credit for me to use. Thanks Billy J.

Customer Service is key to a great experience, thank you!

Always having had a great experience with this online store, I was disappointed to experience some issues with a recent purchase, however the customer service team have been responsive and turned this around. I would like to thank them and look forward to receiving my replacement items.

NOT HAPPY WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I purchased a lovely T-Shirt dress, size M. Just after I put my order in I read the reviews and every person mentioned to down size one or two sizes and the dress is massively oversized. It does not mention this btw.
So I quickly sent an email for them to exchange order from Med to Small. I gave them more than enough time to simply change it over and they hadn’t express posted it yet. They sent me back this generic message that made no sense.
I received my dress within a few days and it was massive. I had to take it to get altered and that costed me $50. I couldn’t return it because I needed it for the weekend.
Not happy with the service Billy J !!! 😔

I dont know why I keep ordering form…

I dont know why I keep ordering form this boutique! You pay $12 for EXPRESS Shipping only to see your parcel go from Burnside, QLD, which is the sunshine coast region, only to fly off to Melbourne for an overnight stay & then hopefully makes it way back to the Gold Coast. It originally was meant to be here yesterday or today now it doesnt even look like it will arrive before I leave for my event tomorrow morning. So then ill be returning it. How can you charge for EXPRESS when it clearly is not. As a business myself, Ive posted products out by lunch and they've arrived to the sunshine coast by the next day so why is this so hard for this store? disappointing to say the least

To clarify, express shipping refers to the service provided by the shipping courier. Once parcels leave our warehouse, the transit route and any internal transfers (such as movement between depots in different states) are determined solely by the courier, and unfortunately this is something we don’t have control over.

If your parcel does arrive too late to be used, you’re very welcome to return it in line with our returns policy, and our team will of course assist you through that process.

Disgusting service

I purchased am outfit . I then had a knee replacement. My outfit was too small. So when I was able to drive and get around I took it back to exchange for something else. I had the receipt. The bag I bought in and tags were still on. THEY WOULD NOT EXCHANGE FOR ANYTHING. THIS IS DISGUSTING SERVICE. WILL NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN . DISGUSTING

Bad Dress Descriptions

Really good quality, very fast delivery but am really upset at their lack of dress descriptions, i'm a bridesmaid, and we all were wearing champagne coloured dresses (different styles) all purchased from billyJ, yet I was super upset to find that my champagne colour didn't match some of the other bridesmaids dresses. There were 2 sets of champagne colours within the 'Champagne' 'bridesmaid dress' category. With many now having to repurchase and refund our dresses.

Each product page displays imagery of the exact dress and colour for that style, and we recommend reviewing these carefully when coordinating bridesmaid dresses. If an exact match is required, we always advise purchasing from the same matching range.

Unfortunately, once an order has entered our dispatch system, we are unable to make changes, even if the parcel has not yet been collected by the courier. It is amongst 100's of other orders awaiting dispatch. At that stage, the order has already been picked, processed, and locked within our warehouse workflow. This is not a matter of willingness - it is a system limitation that cannot be overridden by our customer service team.

Your request was assessed, and we did attempt to intervene, however there was no further action available to us once the order reached this stage.

Not a good option for international shoppers

I have received some nice items from BillyJ but as an international customer, all of the risk of shopping with them is placed on you. You can’t see the fabrics or try the items on, as is normal for online shopping. But they’ll charge you $23 for international shipping, and then they’ll charge you $27.60 to return an item. It’s $50 for the pleasure of just seeing and trying on a single item, and it isn’t worth it when the quality of the pieces is variable and the fit is not consistent across styles. Shop somewhere else like the Iconic or other sellers that offer at least free shipping in one direction rather than making the customer bear the full risk of online shopping

Poor quality/customer service

I was extremely disappointed with the quality of my dress - I had high hopes given all their good reviews. It already had a hole in it and felt very cheap - I had to have it tailored to repair it so ended up spending way more than I should have on it as I needed it for a wedding (it already was way overpriced for the quality). Responses were very delayed from customer service when I reached out and their 'compensation' was laughable - the best they could offer was a 30% partial refund. I had my eye on so many pieces and was so excited to finally purchase something. If their customer service was better I would have been a returning customer.

They never offered a full refund like they're saying they did. They initially only offered a partial refund of 20% and said I'm "entitled to other options". I voiced I wasn't happy with that and asked what else they could do and that's when they made it 30%... I said that was disappointing but if that was the best they could do it was better than nothing. They then came back saying they had processed it...

Nowhere did they offer a full refund!

Billy J says they care about their customers but they couldn’t give a crap. They will take your money if the clothes are on sale and don’t fit. No exchange or store credit offered. Their size guides are useless and their customer service is horrific.

Temu rip off! Ridiculous mark up.

I made an order for multiple items on Billy J, I had seen one particular set I purchased (Lacole button up shirt and short set) on Temu and the reviews on temu stated it was exactly the same as the set from Billy J, I refused to believe this, as Billy J were selling this set for $109.95 where as Temu had it advertised for $38.00. Once I received this set, I was so disappointed in Billy J and their obvious ridiculous mark up. The set I received smelt like strong chemicals, had loose cotton pieces absolutely everywhere, poorly finished seams with stitching unthreading. Fake drawstring on the shorts, the stripes do not line up on the shorts. The buttons on the shirt were unthreading. Product tag had misspelt words (which basically screams Temu) and did not specify what materials were used - it was a temu tag. The inside lining of the shorts sits LONGER than the shorts material so the liner is visible below the shorts while wearing them. The mark up on this set is disgusting because the set no way warrants being sold at $109.95!

We do want to address a couple of points clearly. All Billy J styles are sourced through verified suppliers that meet our quality, compliance and safety requirements. We do not purchase from Temu, and we do not align our products with online marketplace listings. If an item you’ve seen elsewhere looks similar, it does not mean it is the same product, made by the same manufacturer, or produced to the same standards.

That said, the issues you’ve described (chemical odour, loose threads, incorrect lining length, and concerns with the tag) are not acceptable to us. This is exactly why we have a returns and quality-assurance process in place, and we would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to inspect the set so we can investigate this with our supplier.

We absolutely stand by the value of our products, but we also stand by making things right when something isn’t up to standard. If you haven’t already, please reach out to our customer care team with your order number so we can arrange a return for you.

Tried to return a dress

Tried to return a dress. Order number would not go through with email. So could not go any further and no reply from company when told order number will not register.
So stuck with a dress to small to wear. Will not buy anything from this company again.

Amazing!

OKAYYY. this website has my most respect. I ordered 2 dresses for my brothers wedding. They both were too big. The wedding was in 5 days. They stated for me to do another order and they'll put an urgent on it. It got here in 2 days. Got my refund. The materials aren't cheap either. I love this website and their sales people are were absolutely lovely and supportive. You've got a high praise from me !

Dresses like liquid gold

Beautiful, stunning and well made bridesmaids dresses. The fabric feels like liquid gold on. And even though is not from natural source, it doesn't make your body static like others do. Flawless. Highly recommend.
