We’re so sorry to hear you were disappointed with your experience and that the sizing wasn’t what you expected. We understand how stressful it can be when you need an outfit in time for the weekend.

While we always do our best to accommodate change requests, once an order has been processed or packed by our dispatch team we aren’t always able to make adjustments before it leaves our warehouse. I’m sorry if the reply you received felt unclear or unhelpful.

We really appreciate you sharing your feedback about the fit notes too. We’re continually working on improving the information on our product pages so it’s easier to choose the right size.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

To clarify, express shipping refers to the service provided by the shipping courier. Once parcels leave our warehouse, the transit route and any internal transfers (such as movement between depots in different states) are determined solely by the courier, and unfortunately this is something we don’t have control over.

If your parcel does arrive too late to be used, you’re very welcome to return it in line with our returns policy, and our team will of course assist you through that process.

We truly appreciate your feedback and are very sorry this experience has let you down. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like help with the return or if there’s anything further we can assist with.

To clarify, only dresses that are specifically listed as matching styles on the product listing are guaranteed to match in colour. While multiple styles may be labelled as “champagne,” this refers to the colour family rather than an exact shade match.

Each product page displays imagery of the exact dress and colour for that style, and we recommend reviewing these carefully when coordinating bridesmaid dresses. If an exact match is required, we always advise purchasing from the same matching range.

We understand this may be disappointing and your feedback around clearer colour descriptions has been passed on.

Hi Christine,

We need to clarify that our team did actively review your request as soon as it came through.

Unfortunately, once an order has entered our dispatch system, we are unable to make changes, even if the parcel has not yet been collected by the courier. It is amongst 100's of other orders awaiting dispatch. At that stage, the order has already been picked, processed, and locked within our warehouse workflow. This is not a matter of willingness - it is a system limitation that cannot be overridden by our customer service team.

Your request was assessed, and we did attempt to intervene, however there was no further action available to us once the order reached this stage.

We appreciate that this is frustrating, and apologise for any inconvenience caused. We would always recommend checking over your order before checking out.

Once received, you are welcome to return the item in line with our returns policy and we will process this promptly.

We’re really sorry to hear this has been your experience - that’s certainly not what we want for any of our customers.

When items are reported as missing, we always aim to investigate thoroughly and assist wherever possible. In situations where a chargeback is raised or threatened, the matter is required to be handled through the bank’s dispute process, which can limit what we’re able to do directly at that stage. This is standard procedure and not intended to come across as unhelpful or rude.

We would never intentionally be disrespectful, and we’re genuinely sorry if our communication felt that way. If you’d like to revisit this, we’re more than happy to review the details again and work towards a resolution where possible.

We’re genuinely sorry that your dress arrived with a defect and that our response times didn’t meet your expectations, especially with your special event approaching. We completely understand how frustrating it must have been to have to take it to a tailor at additional cost.

As mentioned during our conversation, we would have been more than happy to accept the dress back for a full refund, but we understand that timing meant this wasn’t possible. While we offered a partial refund as a resolution and have since processed it, we appreciate that this was an inconvenience.

Your feedback is extremely valuable, and we will use it to improve both our product quality and customer service responsiveness. We’re truly sorry that this experience wasn’t smooth and hope you were still able to enjoy your event.

Our policies around sale items - including eligibility for returns and store credits - are clearly stated at multiple touchpoints before and during checkout, on the product pages and in our Returns Policy. These policies applied at the time of your order and were agreed to at checkout.

We understand it’s frustrating when an item doesn’t work out, but we do need to follow the policies that are in place for all customers.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re genuinely sorry to hear that you’re disappointed with your set - this is absolutely not the standard we uphold, nor what our customers typically experience.

We do want to address a couple of points clearly. All Billy J styles are sourced through verified suppliers that meet our quality, compliance and safety requirements. We do not purchase from Temu, and we do not align our products with online marketplace listings. If an item you’ve seen elsewhere looks similar, it does not mean it is the same product, made by the same manufacturer, or produced to the same standards.

That said, the issues you’ve described (chemical odour, loose threads, incorrect lining length, and concerns with the tag) are not acceptable to us. This is exactly why we have a returns and quality-assurance process in place, and we would genuinely appreciate the opportunity to inspect the set so we can investigate this with our supplier.

We absolutely stand by the value of our products, but we also stand by making things right when something isn’t up to standard. If you haven’t already, please reach out to our customer care team with your order number so we can arrange a return for you.
