Poor IT Support
I have an ongoing issue with documents being sent from the Docusign portal not being received by recipients. I approached Docusign Support for assistance and whilst they acknowledged a number of their users had this problem, they approached to resolving it was dismissive and unhelpful. I have cancelled my subscription at renewal.
Surprise Charge
My account had an automatic annual renewal on it and I was charged. I was surprised that I was charged for 3 users instead of 1. Two of the users no longer work at my company so I did not want to pay for a full year of subscription that I did not intend to renew and will not use. These are major charges for a small business. I reached out to DocuSign and they refused to refund me for those two users. I asked to speak with management several times and each time the customer service agent refused to do so. I am very disappointed with the service I received and wanted to share my experience with the community.
Excellent customer service even though I was closing account
We stopped using docusign 6 months ago because of the price increase. I could not figure out how to cancel the subscription and the platform does not allow you to remove credit card details, one card must be on file. So when my card was charged six months later, I was dreading contacting customer service and trying to get a refund. But the process was very smooth and they did the refund and closed the account with no trouble. I really appreciate this because usually companies make this process complete hell.
I subscribed to DocuSign's…
I subscribed to DocuSign's API/developer service but Docusign failed to deliver this service entirely. I attempted to cancel through their sales representative in mid-January 2026, but was unable to find any way to cancel through their website or support channels (wasn't even able to log in despite using proper credentials).
I was charged $75 on January 5, 2026, and filed a credit card dispute for that charge. Despite this, I was charged another $75 on February 5, 2026, totaling $150 in unauthorized charges.
On February 7, 2026, I contacted DocuSign live chat support. The agent (Jeri) confirmed my account was closed on 02/05/2026. When I requested a full refund for both charges, the agent told me I would need to remove my credit card dispute first, essentially asking me to give up my only leverage before they would consider a refund. The agent then abruptly ended the chat while I was still responding, without resolving the issue.
DocuSign made it impossible to cancel through normal channels, continued billing me after I attempted cancellation, and their support agent terminated the conversation without providing a refund or resolution - all of which makes me sure I'll never return to Docusign.
A well oiled machine of a scam
This company is a well oiled machine of a scam. They have or at least had the credibility of offering legit e-signature services. But their systems are intentionally designed to confuse you to increase their sales by getting unwanted products.
Avoid this company at all costs! My small business lost so much money to them over the course of 4 years through their overpriced products. But we have learned.
Excited about product
Previous renewal was challenging, however for this term they were accommodating and helped us optimize our package based on the previous term's utilization. They were proactive in letting us know what was going on and our account rep Gabriela was amazing. Overall satisfied with the service and the product is really best in the industry when compared to alternatives.
Greedy and inflexible—Avoid the annual plan!
I would give DocuSign zero stars if I could. This company has proven they care far more about "money grabbing" than they do about customer satisfaction or fair business practices.
I have been a subscriber with an annual plan, but I wasn't using the service enough to justify the cost. My subscription renewed automatically, and I realized it just two days later. I immediately cancelled the service without using a single envelope or feature from the new billing cycle.
Despite the fact that I had not used the service for even a second of the new year, they refused to offer a pro-rated refund. Because I was on an annual plan, they kept the entire year's payment. Had I been on a monthly plan, I would have only lost one month of fees, but DocuSign chose to pocket hundreds of dollars for a service I won’t be using.
My advice to existing or new customers:
NEVER select the annual plan. They will lock you in and show zero flexibility if your circumstances change.
Check the alternatives. There are many other e-signature platforms out there that are much cheaper and actually value their customers.
DocuSign is a "money hungry" corporation that hides behind their fine print to keep funds they didn't earn. Save your money and go elsewhere.
I wish I can give it a negative star
I wish I can give it a negative star. When I tried to cancel the subscription. It was offered 3 months free, which turned into a trap. It starts to charge me after 1 month. The customer service just lied and denied they had the offer. I left the account untouched for three month and was charged a lot for that.
Website is painful to navigate and the program is byzantine to use
Worst site I have ever used. If Trustpilot had zero stars, that's what this would get.
It is clear that with a 75% one-star rating that DocuSign has no interest in or intention of improving.
There are no meaningful instructions, no clear navigation map, it seems that each time I want to use the same document I have to revisit the Add Fields section. Even when I have finished an item, I have to find a new page for a preview and then send. Forget intuitive -- it is not logical.
That's the problem with them being number 1 -- they don't have to try at all ... and they certainly are not.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. One year after using them they automatically took £240 out of our bank without contacting us first and now (becuase I noticed 5 days after the 14 days) they will not return it.
Rip off merchants!
They continue to ignore me after signing up accidentally and won't refund my money. Don't go near this business(if you would even call it that)
My las letter to Docu Sign
My las letter to Docu Sign: Hello,
Thank you for confirming that the refund of USD 450.00 has been processed. I do appreciate your assistance and follow-up throughout this case, and I want to personally acknowledge your efforts as part of the support team.
That said, I must express my deep dissatisfaction with the overall experience with DocuSign.
As mentioned previously, my account was closed just two days after subscribing, which prevented me from completing or using the service for its intended purpose. This situation was the result of repeated issues on DocuSign’s side, not user error. As a consequence, I paid for a service that I was never able to properly access or complete.
The total amount charged was USD 465.00, including the USD 15.00 subscription fee. While I understand that the USD 450.00 refund has been approved, the remaining USD 15.00 represents a charge for a service that was never effectively rendered. From my perspective, this amount was lost due to circumstances completely outside my control.
I want to be clear: the issue here is not the amount itself, but the way this situation was handled. Unfortunately, this has been the worst experience I have had with a digital service provider. Paying for a product that could not be used due to internal errors leaves a very negative impression.
Although I genuinely appreciate your individual support, my experience with DocuSign as a company and as a service has been extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I will not recommend DocuSign as a product or service, and I will be sharing my honest feedback and reviews on platforms where DocuSign is evaluated by potential users, so others can make informed decisions.
For this reason, I respectfully request confirmation that the full amount of USD 465.00 will be refunded, including the subscription fee, in order to fully close this matter in a fair and satisfactory way.
I look forward to your confirmation.
Kind regards,
Francisco
Docusign is THE MOST DECEPTIVE COMPANY…
Docusign is THE MOST DECEPTIVE COMPANY I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN MY EXTENSIVE WORLD TRAVELS AND 40+ YEARS IN BUSINESS WHEN IT COMES TO TERMINATING YOUR ACCOUNT WITH THEM - ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC!!!!
Overpriced
Overpriced, poorly designed, and often dysfunctional—plus, their sales approach is overly aggressive. Save yourself the trouble and seek out more reliable e-signing options elsewhere.
Terrible Customer Service
There is no issue with the product itself; however, the level of customer service has been unacceptable. I have been attempting to speak with a customer service representative since 22 December and have received no meaningful response, aside from repeated messages stating that someone will be in touch.
As a paying client, we have requested multiple call backs and have yet to receive one, despite DocuSign stating that their expected callback turnaround time is between 25 and 30 minutes. This lack of communication and failure to meet stated service standards is extremely disappointing.
Lots of hidden charges
Lots of hidden charges, misleading dishonest pricing. Arrogant unhelpful customer support. Avoid.
Not safe
Not safe , they deleted valuable contracts and refuse customer support , now I have to use legal proceedings to recover deleted contracts
Complete disaster
Complete disaster, needed to access an important stock option document from a few years ago. Had the link, account username and password but the insisted on a Code from the email account I no longer had access to. Their website said contact support, I did and they refused to help. They also asked for a phone number but refused to recognise international formats. What decade (century) are they living in.
Do not trust them with anything important which, given the business they are in is pretty much anything!
Dont do it
dont do it! support, care help with contracts... useless! the worst supplier i have ever experienced in 40 years!! find an alternative to docusign. trust me!
Adobe/Acrobat is the best.
