Bought the Taiwan unlimited data plan…
Bought the Taiwan unlimited data plan and it did't disappoint. I was getting great speeds even on the HSR train down to Kaohsiung. It's so much more convenient than waiting in line for a physical Eim at Taoyuan airport. Definitely my go-to for my next Asia trip

I've tried a few different providers
I've tried a few different providers, but Gigago is the most affordable for Thailand. The data plan was generous and the 5G connection was stable the whole time in Chiang Mai. I did't have to swap physical cards or worry about losing my home SIM. Truyly a seamless experience for budget travelers

used gigago esim for my 10 day trip to Thailand and it was brilliant. I was worried about the setup, but i just scan QR code at the airport and had 5G instantly. Speeds were super fast event while island hoppin in Krabi. Way cheaper than home provider's roaming fees. Highly recommend

Esim only worked in 1 country - no refund
The esim only worked in Thailand (where I was only for 2 days as a layover) and not in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam. Therefore, I had to buy local sim cards and the customer service was not helpful at all. They did offer a 40% refund, which was not really satisfying. As I was traveling, I didn't get back to them in time and now their offer of the partial refund expired.

When you later reported issues in other countries, our support team reached out multiple times to provide troubleshooting assistance and offered a 40% partial refund as a goodwill gesture, despite the eSIM having already been used.
Unfortunately, we did not receive any response or confirmation from you during the valid period, and the partial refund offer expired due to the lack of follow-up. As per our policy, we’re unable to process refunds after the validity period ends when no timely response is received.
We understand that traveling can make communication difficult, but active cooperation during the trip is essential for us to assist effectively.

Never again use an eSim
The eSim for Vietnam we purchased did not work even though we followed the supplied instructions. In fairness, we did not attempt to contact their customer support until our return when we requested a refund. My advise to travellers to Vietnam is purchase an eSim or Sim upon entry at the numerous sales counters in the arrivals hall. They are very supportive, quick and the product works.
