Tracy guided me through the thoroughly unsatisfactory John Lewis website, they will do anything to prevent your speaking to a human being. She was on the ball and speedy with it.

I ended up on this site without knowing what it was and without ever asking or looking for it. I was looking for a solution regarding an order on the SHEIN website, which after several attempts sent me to a page where I was asked for ONE EURO (refundable according to them) to be helped by an expert (NOT A CHATBOT, A REAL PERSON). Forced to compromise and pay that euro, having no other option if I wanted to receive the Shein package, I agreed. I found myself chatting with the artificial intelligence that insisted on calling itself a real expert, not a bot, and within a minute I received a notification from my bank: THIRTY-NINE EUROS DEDUCTIBLE FROM ACCOUNT. Without any request and therefore no consent from me. Then... pay for what? I have ChatGPT for free on my phone, and these scams are punishable by law even if you're based in Cyprus. I'M WRITING HERE BECAUSE I CAN'T CONTACT ANYONE REALLY, AND I DON'T TRUST A CHATBOT THAT TELL ME THEY'VE SENT ME A REFUND. Should I ask God directly how to talk to a howly human?
HOWLYSHIT.
If someone can send me an email where I can ask for help from a real expert, now that I've had a month's subscription to this nonsense.

Fortunately i checked my bank account and found Howly had also chsrged me £24 had set up a direct debit for £24 per month (repeat: per month!). I managed to cancel the direct debit and requested they refund me £24. Howly refunded me the £1 only. PayPal weren't interested my claim and upheld the payment so Howly refused the refund. My bank (Lloyd's) also not interested.
Naturally I will never use PayPal nor How;y again and Lloyd's is my list to change banks immediately they close our local branch.
I'm angry with myself for being so easily duped by scam artists Howly but take it as a lesson learned. Thankfully I only got scammed for £24 and was quick enough to cancel the direct debit which they set up without my knowledge. I understand Howly is based in Cyprus so out of reach for me to knock on their door.
