Bought from Meater directly in the UK but had to return it due to it being a duplicated gift.
Had to pay own postage at £10 for tracked delivery but after 3 weeks no refund was received and needed to follow up with Meater.
There is no way to contact Meater via email from UK and had to call them on a +1 overseas number. A 25 minute phone call cost me £116 from UK to the phone number provided by Meater for help and support. Was promised my refund in 10 working days but didn’t happen. So had to call them again for another 25 minute call at another £116 bill chasing up my refund.
So overall it’s cost me £10 in postage and £220 in phone calls chasing up a refund that should have been refunded automatically.
Strongly advise against buying directly from Meater if you are UK based and instead buy from a UK 3rd party retailer.
Whilst customer service on the phone was good, the fact that there is no email to contact customer services and you can only call an overseas number at an extortionate cost is very poor customer services, so avoid.

Generally, this product is fine. But it has two flaws. Firstly, the Bluetooth range is massively overstated. I have an Aga. The charging unit has to sit next to the Aga. If I move to my sitting room, about 6m away it loses connection. Contrast that with the stated 75m range. Nonsense. Second the remaining cook time calculation is ridiculous. On a long slow cook for pulled pork or beef it goes from 1 or 2 hours left, to ten minutes, to rest now in about 5 minutes. That algorithm needs a lot of work.

After Charging the unit for 15-20 minutes and it failed to maintain contact at the worst possible time. I traded the battery out with a new battery, the unit again failed by losing connection. This product cost way too much to have this kind of reliablity.

I contacted customer support on December 30, 2025, at 3:30 PM after probe no. 2 for my Meater Pro XL Smart (with 4 probes) stopped working. I called from Norway using the Danish support number and was connected to Costa Rica, San José, where I spoke with an extremely friendly and helpful representative.
She immediately arranged for a replacement probe no. 2 to be sent to me. I was told I would receive an email confirmation with a tracking number and that the new probe would arrive within approximately 7 days.
Fortunately, I still have three other probes, so I can use the product on my turkey tomorrow on New Year’s Eve. Best of all, I did not have to return the entire product to the seller, which would have taken much longer.
I am very satisfied with both the product and the support. The Meater Pro XL Smart is a true must-have that I use a lot, and the customer service experience was absolutely fantastic.
Highly recommended!

How a company reacts when things go wrong is often more important than when everything is fine. On Christmas Day I was unable to establish a connection to my nearly new Meater Pro probe to be able to tell when our roast rib of beef was cooked. After troubleshooting on Boxing Day I ended up speaking to their support line (yes, they offer 365 day a year support) and an agent determined that the probe itself was faulty, but that I was covered by their warranty. A new probe arrived just now, less than 48 hrs after our conversation. Thank you Meater/Treager!

I have had a MEATER for a little over a year and have now discarded it. Issues I have had are poor connection (annoying but I could live with), but bigger problem was it’s low maximum temperature it could handle. This lead to it stopping working. I have now switched to RFX Gateway ThermoWorks

This expensive thermometer stopped working, and tech support said I would have to buy a new one, even after they admitted it was defective. This company doesn’t stand by their products AT ALL.
The thermometer probe was always very inaccurate when it did work. It showed ambient oven temperatures at least 100 degrees cooler than the actual oven temperature, as verified by separate oven thermometers. Cook time estimates also fluctuated by 10 minutes throughout the cooking process. Come to find that other people have the same issue. The app also would send me notifications whenever I disable my phone’s Bluetooth, even if the app isn’t open and I don’t have an active cook going. Their tech support suggested I uninstall and reinstall the app, but that didn’t fix the issue. They had no other solutions to offer.
The app also requires a LOT of access to your phone and wifi network, even if you don’t want those features. It locks up and refuses to function if you don’t allow those privacy invasions.

Endless connection problems. We've had a new probe sent out due to connection isses, it worked twice, now on Christmas day same issue, no connection between the probe and the base. Videos just say to clean (which it is - it's new), or put in and out of the base, not easy when its 200 degrees! I wouldn't say it was that reliable when it does work, often going way over target temperature and still saying to rest more! Wouldnt recommend

The website promises 10% discount on signing up for marketing email. The promised discount code didn't arrive. I called support, who after 30 minutes were unable to resolve this. They ended up suggesting I order at full price and phone them back after I received the product to claim a 10% refund. Zero confidence in that happening and no wish to spend another lengthy session on the phone begging for a refund. A useful insight into the company that destroys confidence in their support so probably better off not having one....

Love using it. I have the meater block with 4 probes. Last year the app had a screen that shows all 4 probes with Internal, Target and Ambient temperature and estimated cooking time. Then after an update the estimated cooking time was removed from this page. Now I have to scroll from probe 1 to probe 4 to see how much time is left for each probe. While not a major drawback, the app is not as friendly as it once was. I would appreciate it if the developers would please bring back estimated cooking time on the display that shows all 4 probes simultaneously.

Do not waste your money. One of the sensors on the probe is measuring 8 degrees C less than the others, rendering it useless and I’m back to guess work. This is not a one off as happening every cook, always the same sensor

Avoid ! I got given a Meater probe as a gift 2 years ago. The first one malfunctioned after a couple of uses. Customer service was ok and agreed to replace the probe.
My new one is hit and miss whether it will connect, even when fully charged. Then the last 2 cooks which have been expensive cuts of beef, have been completely ruined. I cooked a 2kg rolled Sirloin today for 9 people, set the internal temperature to 50’ so it would get to 55 after resting, followed the instructions and prompts exactly and the beef was, again, well done and ruined! £70 and the time before which was an £80 Tomahawk too, ruined. Both well overdone and far from rare !!
Incredibly disappointing and I will never use it again. It literally ruined my day today and a meal I spent hours preparing.

I have got through 3 in 2 years as they don’t last. One of mine the probe stopped charging, another the probe came about and the glue separated between 2 parts of it, and now the 3rd time (brand new 7 months ago) and charger base has stopped working.
Though their service is great, every time I have dealt with their customer service they have sent me replacement parts, they still don’t last. Ultimately the product is not very good. Works well when cooking meat but you can’t rely on the product to work. Disappointed and likely to try an alternative product next time.

The probe came apart when I was removing it from the meat. It now doesn’t work. It had been well used but not great as this was my second probe as the first one broke also. I have upgraded to the meater pro 2 block now that has wifi so hopefully that sorts out the connection issues 🤞🏻

Reading some of the other reviews it seems like perhaps there’s been a recent quality issue. The probe doesn’t work more than it does - constant connectivity issues and regularly says the probe isn’t charged even when it’s been charging for days. It’s really hit and miss and honestly one of the most frustrating and dumb products I’ve ever owned. We sent it back to Meater and they said everything was fine - next cook - red flashing light. Terrible waste of money.

Have had my Meater block for a couple of years, all in all have used it less than probably 2 dozen times. And while it's always been kinda finicky with the connections, this time, this time I'm done. Go to make the thanksgiving turkey and the stupid block absolutely refused to connect to wifi. Call support and they tell me that the base unit/block needs to be replaced, and since it's out of warranty it'll be like $150 today for them to replace it. *Laughs*, like I'm going to pay that to replace one garbage unit with another of the same particularly when I can still count the numer of actual uses I got out of it on one go round of my digits. Meater sucks and I regret even buying this first unit, there are other better reviewed units out there. Likely filing a case with BBB.

I have been using meaters for years, and I feel like they are getting to be less reliable. Today for thanksgiving, they have a Cloud service problem. The worst possible day to loose the ability to read temps. I just ran to the store to get an analog temp probe.
Meater, you have let me down again.

Tried speaking to customer services about a probe within warranty which keeps disconnecting after about 5 or 6 hours.
I've been on live chat for over an hour running all sorts of tests. The conclusion of which is that they do nothing, and say to message them if it happens again. And when it happens again you are in exactly the same situation.
Its so frustrating, the probe is not working properly!

Only works for a while then it looses power and charges only sometimes. Sorting this out you have to.pay to send it to them. Not cool.
