Completed the Keyboard Harmony Course which takes you from very basic harmony and chord structure theory to being able and confident in creating meaningful, harmonious and satisfying music out of your own imagination and emotion. Highly recommended!

The quality of the content is unquestioned, Gareth's leaves no stones unturned and his teaching style is unmatched. So why 4 stars? Because the production of the course I purchased - Bach Chorales - is outdated. In this day and age we need higher video resolution, better lighting and multi-camera angles (at least a dedicated camera for the white board).
Conversely, the free courses -such as that on Voice Leading- have a better production quality.
Nonetheless, I'm planning on buying more courses from you because of their exceptional value!

I've just completed the (free) course on voice leading. It's absolutely great! Gareth is a fantastic teacher: he calmly explains the concepts in a well-structured manner which makes it easy to understand. I really like the British humour too :-)

I am still in Lesson 4 out of 26 lessons on Keyboard Harmony and I can't express how happy I am!! The way the instructor, Gareth Green, is explaining the material is very simple and sooo easy to understand. I have been always wanting to learn Music Harmony but never found someone who would explain it in a fun and easy way to understand like this. I am so grateful for this course. Will definately look for more courses on Music Matters

I have just completed the most excellent Composing For Piano course. I found all the lessons quite informative. I have always wanted to learn how to notate music. At 72, I got some Berklee books and discovered Music Matters. I affirm what everyone is saying about Gareth Green's teaching style. I plan to get into some of the paid courses as I am able.
I love the Music Matters Theme song! Thank you, Mr Green!

As a budding piano practitioner (ABRSM grade 1 standard) I have found Graham’s forensic analysis of both the music repertoire and theory curriculum to have been of great help in my journey to date and is sure to be in the long journey ahead. His knowledge and teaching experience is vast and his presentation style is very well calibrated to the relative ability level of the student.

Excellent learning material for an amateur song writer like me. Good overview of common techniques, and practical demonstration of harmony development which is my weakness.

Gareth is a terrific music teacher, especially for those of us brought up on classical music. His clear explanations of music theory are second to none. He has produced tons of music instruction videos and courses - some free, some paid - and a subscription to his interactive Maestros program is a great value. I am impressed by his knowledge, humor, clarity, enthusiasm, and ability to convey information without overload but without wasting time either. At times I have learned or consolidated knowledge about a topic just from his asides. In addition, his discussions of music history and biography are truly entertaining, as well as informative. Very highly recommended.

I have purchased several of the music matters courses such as Music Theory 1-5, Rhythm Bootcamp and Aural Tests for grade 7. I have found these course of enormous benefit as Gareth explains things in simple terms but also demonstrates how a rhythm should be played by playing it on the piano.

I paid for the Grade 1-8 Music theory for my son, who is progressing in learning the flute.
I wanted something that was aligned to the actual exam board content. I am impressed by the straight-forward 'Chalk-and-Talk' style, using a piano with a screen repeater to explain concepts. As a technical trainer in the aviation sector, I can recognise a good teacher and I see the effort that has gone into this high standard content.
My son was astonished by the video content. He found Gareth very engaging and lamented that most of his secondary school lessons were not delivered to this standard -"school uses too much PowerPoint!" . The workable exercises are well put together and are a good consolidation of the lesson content. The web page is well arranged and charts progress as you go through it.
I think this is good quality content and is value for money. It beats trawling online for free content and I feel you get what you pay for. The discount for buying all 8 grades makes this an attractive price.
I highly recommend Music Matters as a comprehensive music theory learning tool and commend Gareth for his hard work in creating this resource.

I have been learning from Music Matters online for a few years. The instructor, Gareth Green, is a generous teacher, who is thorough, logical, and friendly. The concepts covered range from basic theory to advanced composition. The training is multi-featured, and some activities include personalized feedback for every participant. The upcoming new topics are still more promising! I highly recommend these courses for musicians who want to acquire, refresh, and advance their knowledge and skills.

I love the Maestros group and look forward to each month's subject which has broadened my musical knowledge. i would recommend this group to anyone with an interest in any kind of music at any level.

I highly recommend, to whoever wants to take their life and Music to new levels. I’ve signed up to a bunch of courses, coming from new musical background and just musical air. Gareth is a fantastic teacher and brings clarity to every concept he explains. He makes everything feels easy and approachable, with plenty of explanation and loads of practice. You can feel the experience and, most importantly, the presence behind the screen. I have reached out with plenty of questions and have been getting responses within hours usually. Your line it’s been really good for me . I cannot do things that I would’ve never thought so easily possible. I can come up with a nice harmony on songs that I like playing, and I know that with more practice, I will be able to tackle every single key! One more thing, I am blind, and Gareth has a way of explaining things that makes everything very accessible to me, without even knowing it! This is not an obstacle in his courses… He voices, every single thing he wrote on his board.
So, to whoever decides to invest time and money, this is the best place, I can’t imagine anything better.
Thanks for making this happen!
