In relation to tax services and NOT bookkeeping.

They are considered a premium tax service in that they charge well above the max average in comparison to other tax companies. You would think this means premium service...it does not.

Communication is awful. Weeks go by without return communication. When I follow up to prompt a reminder they admit to "not seeing" the multiple email inquiries. They admit to receiving them but that they simply overlooked them.

They advertise themselves for small businesses but then quote small businesses the cost for tax services for a large corporation.

They leave out critical and cost-saving options for small business. With every communication they are aiming to 'up-sell' and therefore, intentionally leave out options that would be in the client's best interest.

Overall, I would leave a negative review if I could - simply because of the awful customer service, price-gouging, and either incompetence vs trying to upsell in a conniving way.

Pilot has made our bookkeeping a breeze! Their system makes it super easy to respond to any questions and their communication is top level! Highly recommend.

If you are a start up, avoid by all means - proposed to us by our accelerator as the 'go-to' tax service for start ups, however it's literal harassment, chasing us up on things that need not be so prudent for a start up.

After announcing the company has been closed, a tranche of emails are being sent out regarding taxes being owed, etc.

Seamless integration that handles my books behind the scenes until they're ready for me.

Pilot has been a fantastic partner from start to finish. I had a terrific experience with my sales rep, who listened to my needs and customized her follow-up to ensure I had a strong grasp of how Pilot could best meet them vs. the alternatives I was considering for bookkeeping help. The integration process was just as smooth, and I have to say, I am loving the client portal so far. The ease of finding relevant reports and interacting with my bookkeeper to ensure we're accounting for the nuanced transactions properly has far exceeded my expectations. We're an early stage company, and I can't tell you how nice it is to rely on Pilot so I can clearly understand our financials while focusing all of my energy on building the business. I recommend Pilot without reservation.

Finally understand our finances

After 1.5 years of being in business, we knew that we needed a different level of financial literacy. We talked to a number of firms, but were impressed with the level of attention that Pilot gave their customers and their values as an organization. We definitely made the right decision. They spent a lot of time with us on the front end to clean up our books and explain it all.

Pilot has been wonderful for all of our accounting needs! It hooks up quite seamlessly to Ramp and categorizes items if they aren't categorized yet, figures out new vendors, and everything in between, so that we don't have to spend the bulk of our day figuring out whether we've done things correctly. I am happy to say that I'm pretty pleased!

Our experience with Pilot has been efficient and seamless. I am happy with how responsive they are. Whenever I post questions in our Pilot portal, I hear back quickly, typically within one day. As a finance/accounting professional at a fast-growing startup, it's great to be able to delegate tasks and manual responsibilities (like categorizing expenses and reconciling bank accounts) to Pilot. I like using their platform because the software is easy to use and makes it easy for me to provide answers to their queries.

Pilot was our book keeper for the 2022-2023 tax year, although they never completed the services and we were required to get a second bookkeeper (at half the price and twice the quality) to finish the books. I really recommend finaloop software for bookkeeping. It is night and day compared to pilot. As I said, we were unable to get finalized accurate books from Pilot for the 2023 tax season and we were forced to engage a new bookkeeper that got the job done in 3 weeks. Instead of paying $2,000 a month for pilot, Finaloop was only $6,000 for the whole year and the software is night and day. Finaloop will automatically calculate COGs. Pilot will just do nothing and ask for your team to fill out COGs journal entries. I do not recommend Pilot to any small business owner. Pilot refused to credit back any of the monthly fees even though they did not complete the service.

If you are starting a new business, Pilot is a fantastic partner. They will off-load all of the bookkeeping/tax-related activity from your core business. Using Pilot from day 1 will also ensure you are following the best practices instead of some other home-grown process which doesn't scale.

Rude customer support, insufficient financial advice, and an all around bad service

My husband and I went to a pilot store number 312 and a sweet girl her name is Anna Carroll helped us and it wasn't our first time there the girl is always polite with a smile I hope she will be manager one day she will make a good one

Pilot is an excellent bookkeeping service that I would recommend for all startups.
