I have used Vindstød for quite some years now, through the agreement with Elforbundet.
It's free of all additional charges, which is also why the customer service is only by email. That is fine with me, as I go for the cheapest option.

Fair prices - non-existent customer service
The start with Vindstød was anything but good. During the first six months, I was charged for prepayment three times, and it was difficult to understand from the invoices what those payments actually covered. When I contacted their customer service to get an explanation, they took a long time to respond.
In general, their customer service is practically non-existent, and the last time I wrote to them, they missed the deadline they themselves had set. I contacted them on August 28 and was supposed to receive a reply by September 3, but didn’t hear back until September 8. Furthermore, I find their responses anything but service-minded.
The reason they’re getting two stars is that once you finally get up and running in their system and no longer need to communicate with them, things work reasonably well, and the price is fair—though not exactly cheap.

The quarterly billing and delayed monthly payout is a bit annoying and the bills are hard to read. But they are probably the cheapest and as long as it works, it's worth it.

The control panel has been down several months during last 6 months. Not good enough calculation of the needed use of kWh per quarter.

Extremely slow and useless support
Later edit: upgrading from 1 to 2 stars, as despite the overall disappointing experience, Daniel from customer service stepped in and came up with a satisfactory solution.
Timeline:
Late August 2025 - I let Vindstød know I would like to start an electricity contract with them from October 1st. I pay the first aconto bill
September 19th: they tell me they cannot find me in the database on the address (current electricity is in my partner's name, fair enough) and request that I provide the details of my girlfriend and my details as the one taking over the electricity contract. I do that and ask them to confirm everything is good. They do not reply.
Until their next request for information they keep asking redundant questions that should have already been answered with the information I provided
September 28th: they request the same details once again. I provide them and urge Vindstød that this time they make sure the shift goes through and if not urgently call me. They do not call me, but also don't finalize the shift.
October 1st, the day when my contract should have started, they once again come back to me with useless questions.
My landlord gets notified that their property does not have a valid electricity contract and questions me about it
Other consequences which are yet to show are probably on the way. And all that, with more than 1 month preparation time, where I made sure everything is clearly explained
All communication went by email, they do not provide a phone number and did not bother to call even when the situation was on the edge. They take forever to reply the most basic mails, and have no functioning way to be contacted for emergencies. Absolutely useless, and couldn't care less of what difficult situations they're putting their (potential) clients through.

Lots wrong information with the billing…
Lots wrong information with the billing to considering that I just recently moved to this company. Lots of confusion, and they did not even inform my previous electricity provider that I am moving or have moved. In case of an emergency, they don't have any customer service contact number to call. Only through email,s which takes 1-2 days to be answered!
