Beautiful products! - Why would you choose anything else!

Bought two HomePro models: 200cm (white/black) and 160cm (blue/pink)

Pros

Exceptional build quality – The components are top-notch. The desk and metal frame are very heavy and solid; this setup won’t warp anytime soon. I have a heavy PC (including an RTX 5090), large bookshelf speakers, and a 32-inch monitor on the desk with no issues.

Flawless finish – The tabletop has beautifully rounded edges, and you can’t see where the laminate meets the edging. Even the powder coating on the legs is perfectly done, showing real attention to detail.

Smooth motor performance – The motor operates efficiently and smoothly. It’s NOT whisper-quiet, but the noise is minimal and not at all annoying.

Outstanding load capacity – It’s rare to find a 200cm standing desk with a 160kg capacity.

Fast shipping – Delivery was quick and straightforward.

Excellent packaging – Everything was well-protected and arrived in perfect condition.

High-quality hardware – The screws and fittings are strong and well-made.

Great value – The price feels like a bargain compared to other brands with similar specs.

Thoughtful design touches – The built-in USB-C and USB-A ports are very convenient.

Impressive control panel – The controller looks and feels premium, much better than competitors.

Beautiful color options – The pink legs paired with the blue top look absolutely exquisite.

Cons

It would be great if there were pre-drilled holes for the optional desk drawer and cable management trays. Even if you don’t buy these accessories, extra holes wouldn’t be an issue aesthetically.

Delivery experience varied – For the first (200cm) desk, the delivery partner brought it up to my apartment. For the second (160cm) desk, they refused to help, and I ended up hurting myself trying to carry it to the elevator. It’s a very heavy desk, so assistance should be standard.

Overall

Despite these minor gripes, this is a 10/10 product. The quality, performance, and value are exceptional. Honestly, I don’t understand why anyone would choose something more expensive (looking at you, Steelcase).

I pre-ordered an iPhone 17 Pro Max (Silver, 256GB) online on Sunday, 14 Sept, around 11:00. To be safe, I visited my chosen pick-up store the Monday and was told i was #2 in the queue for that specific variant. I knew that didn’t guarantee launch-day stock, but Lab9 is a premium Apple reseller—second only to the official Apple Store—and their email even says, “You’re in safe hands.”

What happened:
Launch day came and went, then the weekend, then Monday—no phone and no ETA.

My main issue is Lab9’s pre-order strategy: they took full payment without indicating when stock would arrive.

Other Belgian retailers either marked the phone out of stock or provided an estimated date. I even saw Amazon stock appear and sell out while Lab9 still had my money.

I requested a refund on 22 Sept and received it on 24 Sept. That same night I bought a 512GB Silver 17 Pro Max directly from Apple and picked it up the next morning.

Customer experience on the phone with the pick-up store:
The staff member didn’t ask for my order number. After hearing I’d pre-ordered, she assumed I wanted to cancel and mentioned they had 300 orders, implying I wasn’t the only one waiting. There was no attempt to offer solutions.

How Lab9 can fix this:
Coach front-line staff on composure and retention. When a customer has paid in full and is waiting, don’t be abrupt—offer alternatives (refund + reservation, different configs/colors, or clear timelines). I understand there likely were other clients before me angry about the situation

Don’t take full payment without stock certainty. If you run pre-orders without confirmed allocations, make it crystal clear that stock and timelines aren’t guaranteed. Consider a small deposit rather than full payment, and offer pre-order incentives (e.g., priority allocation, accessory voucher). But bottom line dont take peoples money without guranteed stock. Thats criminal!

As of 25 Sept, the site still lets me pay in full for a 17 Pro Max without any stock indication. *facepalm*

Bottom line (TL;DR):
If you’re considering a Lab9 pre-order, don’t—at least not until they fix the process. There’s too much uncertainty, no clear communication, and your money can be tied up with no timeline. It has been a 1 star first time experience with Lab9. They migh be great with normal non-pre order sales ... but pre-orders i would choose someone else.

Helpless and no way to turn to … but finally delivered

I know there was a strike on Wednesday past. My parcel from France was out for delivery in that morning scheduled for 11am. It never arrived at the pick up point. Thursday no attempt was made to redeliver. Friday being today it was scheduled for 11am and still nothing. The call centres refuse to contact their logistics teams to find out what is happening … this is very frustrating and feel helpless around this package … but it finally got delivered at 3pm (not the scheduled 11am). Better comms would be great and the first time I’ve had an issue with bpost. Usually a 4/5 experience

They deserve a zero rating

If I could give a zero I would … one single Amazon order that got split into two parcels. Both of these parcels were sent to this company to deliver. One gets delivered and the other I get a notification that the address supplied is incomplete. The mind boggles … the address is complete and unchanged for the million and one other Amazon orders I have had successfully delivered in the past. Including instruction to dial the intercom here and how to dial it… Amazon should never have partnered with them.

I have requested the parcel to be delivered tomorrow at the exact same address (I can’t edit or change something that was already correct)

Update 18 June: parcel was dropped off in my mailbox with no call. It has been delivered but the experience has not been great. I have raised the complaint via Colis support page

Just blown away by the service

Just blown away by the service. I am in Belgium and ordered at 21h51. Delivered next day at 11am (This from Netherlands). Never in my life have I ever received something so quickly this far away. The TV is also amazing at the best price. 5/5 star service 🙏

Looking for a TV I would definitely not look anywhere else.

Accommodating and overall not bad

Bought a 5090 Aorus Master Ice GPU and picked up in store

Pros
- item in stock and did not wait long
- accepted cash (up to 3000 euro) and accepted older notes I had
- friendly staff

Cons
- no price match (they dropped the item by 200 euro the next week) …
- way over MSRP (luckily had euros at a good exchange rate that helped the purchase feel a little less painful)

Overall good experience despite the item being more expensive than their competitors or even their NL branch. I would expect all alternate stores to have the same pricing 🙈

Pros
1. Quick shipping using UPS
2. Largest selection of items
3. Well packaged
4. Pricing is not the cheapest neither the most expensive

Cons
1. Very inflexible processs to change an order (even if upgrading a single item on the order). Entire order needs to be cancelled and you need to wait the 5-7 working days to get your refund
2. No store credit or vouchers

3.5 star experience (rounded off to 4)

Victimised and archaic controls to verify payment. 3599 euro short … what a s#%^ show!

I legitimately ordered a graphics card and my payment went through successfully only for a backend administrator to decline the order as potential fraud (a human who clearly does not know how to check for fraudulent transactions … or just too lazy to interrogate further). I supplied a copy of my ID associated with the card (which is what one needs to do) and it is all in my name. In addition, supplied my passport as well. If this still was not enough they could have requested for my European address or other info which I would have gladly provided.

I’ve purchased from Caseking, Coolblue without issue. After phoning LDLC they still refused and insisted on a bank transfer which is absurd to even suggest, considering they have reserved my 3599 euro (so I must now be out of pocket for 7200 euro 🤣)

So just a warning to anyone wanting to pay with an international card. Their controls are operationally and by design ineffective. Other online webstores have this control built in and where one is not charged. At the very least implement this. This is 2025 not 1999

To say the least I will never use them again. First time trying to purchase and never again. Use Caseking, Bol or cool blue. Plenty better options out there.

Update 1: it 22h15 now and the 3599 euro is still reserved off my account despite my cancellation and message that it would be a few hours for the charge to be reversed

Update 2: it’s 11am the next day 25 March and my payment is still not reversed. I was told a few hours it would take. Just release the hold and push the money back to me please. I have now raised this incident with my bank as a fraud case

Reply to the LDLC response: hopefully people can see the non-apologetic and non-empathetic response. Your response clearly shows you made no attempts to look at your own processes or investigate “was there a possibility we flagged a genuine transaction as a fraudulent one” and fix it. Instead push the blame back to me … Would shudder to think of your after sales service if you treated me this way just buying an expensive item and giving you money.

BTW an Amazon order that is cancelled will have the authorisation immediately cancelled. This is implemented on the retailer end and not the bank.

Update 3: as of writing this at on 26 March 07h30 I am still waiting for my 3600 euro to be returned to my account.

Update 4: it’s 27 Mar 2025 and 06h15. The money is still being held and not refunded to me. Keeping this updated for any litigation or legal action

Update 5: 29 March 2025 almost 11am. The amount remains held on my account and not reversed back to me. I am in France perhaps I should pay LDLC a visit

Update 6: 31 March 12h23 and funds still held … 🤬 This is a week

Update 7: 1 April 7h20 … funds not cleared and I’ve now escalated to many people within my bank

Update 8: 2 April 10h19 money finally returned to me. What a journey …. Never ever dealing with LDLC again … this was absolutely painful as I was willing to pay scalper pricing. Serves me right I guess 🙈😥

When you authorize a payement to a website, your bank holds the amount but it doesn't affect your account balance. We did not withdraw the money and your bank can tell you how long it takes for the authorization to disappear.

Starfield Constellation edition broken watch - Bethesda just ignoring me

Bought Starfield Constellation edition, and my chronomark watch stopped working despite me babying the thing.Warranty right? Well logged the ticket in early July … got a response asking for more info and evidence … since then crickets. I have numerous times asked for feedback on the ticket and nothing. This was a very expensive purchase and would like a response and way forward

Final update: on 4 Feb 2025 I finally received my replacement chrono mark watch. This took about 7 months for this RMA. Still a one star experience. But it’s now closed.

Third time buying from SmartBuyGlasses and received the spectacles in perfect condition. Forgot to give them my new script and they promptly amended my order. Lenses are very well priced and on my first time purchase I was very worried about the coatings wearing off etc and those two year old spectacles looks as good as the day I bought them. Would continue using SmartBuyGlasses as the value and choice of brands they offer to me appear unmatched … also their in-house lenses used are top notch quality

Amazing authentic products at amazing prices ... To your door!

Ordered Saint Laurent prescription glasses and they arrived as advertised ... Was a bit sceptical thinking smartbuyglasses might have been a scam site ... Be rest assured they are far from that. The spectacles received are authentic (I've verified this) and the lenses they use are of great quality. Also it came with all the Saint Laurent retail packaging (case, cloth, pamphlets and booklets). Another plus is that unlike other international online ordering there is always the need to pay customs duties and vat. Smartbuyglasses cover these costs.

The timeframe to create the prescription lenses took three days longer than the advertised 3d-5d SLA (but this did work in my favour as my PD measurement was 1mm off). None the less it shipped out and I received them within a week of it being shipped (Hong Kong to South Africa). The courier used RPX online (and their subsidiary Linex in SA) was fantastic ... Would have been 5stars if the date from order to shipped date was as promised ... But this is a nitpick and I can't complain and have ordered another pair

Edit: update 24 Feb. Bought a second pair of prescription specs ... This time a persol calligrapher ... Got delivered within the timeline promised and deserves a revised 4 star to a 5 star rating for me 🙏🙏

Received game after 24hrs... Not 12hrs... Edit: and now game refunded

Bought forza horizon 3 for my windows 10 machine. Received the game account after 24hrs (not the 10-30min max 12hours as advertised). In a nut shell it works perfectly. Site ain't a scam. Their delivery is a little on the slow side. Initially I thought there was no game on the profile they gave me but this was my oversight. Did email support and they did reply only to tell them all is good.

For less than half the price I would have paid on the ms store I'd say the troubles were worth it. For those wondering if the account will work on a pc...Yes it def does. Needs you creating a new user in Windows with the credentials games2dl sent you

Can recommend the site... Just be patient

October 3 Update - the game was refunded. Meaning I have no game on the account any more and can't play it. The money was transferred back into the account from which the CC was used according to MS. Please be careful... Seems the site uses a real credit card and then the owner of the CC requests a refund. Changing rating from 4 stars to 1
