catacombs

Post-Punk Monk It had me from the first guitar chord. And singer Julie Plante was more than a cut above the norm with some serious vocal capabilities at her disposal. Her lyric had a poetic air, capturing the headrush glory of the song’s climactic, cathartic tumble of lyrics. Rendering the experience of a life rushing past one’s eyes in song. about

from the forthcoming album 'songs about dying'

lyrics

oh my darling
though we will die
don't you worry
i cannot leave u even when i
try so hard to be free
of the pain and regret
if you’ll just take my hand
in hand, we’ll face the end

now we lay here thigh to thigh
later our bones will just stack to the sky
better listen don’t care what you’ve seen
we will be here for the end of this
for the end of this
now we take our place in line
those who come after are not far behind
hold fast to the truth we need
we will be here for the end of the world
for the end of this

oh my lover
this will end
a return to the earth
i cannot leave u even when i try so hard to be clean
from the faults i can’t mend
if you’ll just take my hand
in hand, we’ll face the end

now we lay here thigh to thigh
later our bones will just stack to the sky
better listen don’t care what you’ve seen
you will be here for the end of this
for the end of this
now we take our place in line
those who come after are not far behind
hold fast to the truth we need
we will be here for the end of the world
for the end of this paradise
it is not a sacrifice
its just a noble truth that we are one
ooh this paradise
it's not a sacrifice
to return to the soil from which we’ve all come
oh lay these bones away
lay these bones away
now i am racing back free in time and space
i am speeding fast
milestones to taste
back to the bridge,
the moonlight at Arno
you kissed me at midnight for the song that i wrote you
climbing at Estes we pushed on through the wind
animal hungers but where would we begin
back to the tensions of skin that called to me
heat that you gave me
the darkness that tamed me
pounding the dancefloor i dared you to kiss me
song that i wrote you with the hope that you’d miss me
flashing before me
each memory a treasure
our love giving hope beyond measure
back to you back to you
back to me back to me
lay these bones away
oh lay these bones away
lay these bones away
back to the soil from which we’ve come.
