学生が開発した「自作クラウド」を全学生8000人向けに本格稼働 東京工科大の挑戦
東京工科大は来春、学内サーバで運用していた業務システムを全面クラウド化するのに合わせ、学生向けITサービスを“自作クラウドシステム”で本格稼働させる。システムを開発した学生と教授に取り組み内容を聞いた。 東京工科大学は2014年4月をめどに、同大の学生が開発したクラウドシステムを全学生8000人向けに本格稼働させる。インフラ構築からミドルウェア／アプリケーション開発まで学生自らが行い、Webブラウザ上で利用できるSaaS型サービスとして全学生に提供する計画だ。コンピュータサイエンス学部の田胡和哉教授が明らかにした。 プロジェクトの顧問を務める田胡教授は「約10年前から開発を続け、ようやく『学生が作ったクラウド』と言えるほどのものになった」と話す。田胡教授とシステム開発に携わっている学生4人に、取り組みの内容を聞いた。 「業務用サーバ全廃」のその裏で……教育向けシステムは学生が“手作り” 「
