Apparently, the majority of the internet insists that this is a Man Ray photo of Kiki de Montparnasse. In fact, the photo was taken by Marcus Leatherdale in 1983. The model is named Larissa and she’s wearing something fabulous by Issey Miyake. Trust me, I am an expert on such matters.
There is so much misinformation spread by the likes of Tumblr and Pinterest that I fear for the future of facts. Most people can’t be bothered with research, and wantonly re-post things in blissful ignorance, never knowing the error of their ways. You see it on Facebook all the time!
