Person angrily yelling: “–fucking computers bullshit. It’s fucking sick! It’s not cool anymore! It’s not fun! It’s not fun to be on the fucking computer! They changed everything about it! It used to be so coooool!”

i booked a front row seat to the devil’s sacrament and you’re blocking the view
just go back to the 1660 new england hole you just crawled out of and eat barley for a week to atone for your sins or whatever
“ "I booked a front row seat to the devil’s sacrament and you’re blocking the view” is one banger of a thematic statement. Shirt material.
I was talking to a con friend about this exact thing and how cons are mirroring the internet by very much adopting the idea that the world should be run in order to protect the world from a hypothetical child (i.e. Sexy cosplay should be defined and heavily regulated because a hypothetical child might see it, websites should heavily censor or ban content that is unsuitable for non-adults because a hypothetical child might see it.
And her take was that we should be doing the reverse - there should be very clearly marked ‘green zones’ for children, and the rest of the world should be essentially treated with the content warning of 'If you take your child here, they might see something that is unsuitable for them to see’.
Because, to circle this back round to the original point of the post, the best way for you to protect yourself from seeing stuff you don’t want to see (such as NSFW content) is to self-moderate. Basically every social media website has the ability for you to curate your experience, including choosing the things you do and do not want to see. But it is on you to actually do the work to curate your experience, not demand that society itself side with you just because you are uncomfortable.
incredibly, the architect behind both the building that melts cars in london and the building that burns people in las vegas foresaw this exact problem happening for BOTH buildings, did not do anything to prevent it, and describes the effect as “phenomenal”. King
i looked up pics of people cooking eggs in the building’s reflection and
this is like a renaissance painting
I am very endeared by humanity’s tendency to check if it’s truly hot somewhere by attempting to cook an egg
