My claims process has taken 3 months so far, with no end in sight. Don't buy this travel insurance if you want efficient claims processing. First, I provided 10 documents as requested, then they turn around and ask for 3 more, then 3 more, then 3 more, etc. and it takes 15 days for them to process each return email with documentation.

Run as fast as you can the other way. Choose another company to work with. My trip was canceled to Tanzania last October due to the political upheaval. The airport was closed. People were rioting. People were dying I couldn't even get in the country and my tour company had to cancel the trip. Travel Insured International which is run by Crum & Forster classified my trip as a "delay"...really? And I lost over $10,000 because they wouldn't pay it out. I asked and asked and asked for help filing it differently...People stopped responding to me...then all the sudden I got $500 in the mail with a letter that said...were not giving you anymore. Really? Check the policy...this company is an absolute joke and I highly encourage you to look anywhere else for trip insurance and read the fine print. If I could give them 0 stars...I would. They wont cover your trip issues...do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. Don't work with any company Crum & Forster controls.
Snowmageddon Delays Cruise
Our cruise was delayed as a result of a weather situation. As a result, we needed to extend our stay in a hotel. This will be covered under trip insurance which is a relief!

I bought insurance for a trip to Poland
I bought insurance for a trip to Poland. I had to cancel the day before I was to depart. Right away I put in the information for a reimbursement of my airplace ticket. That was on August 22, 2025. I just finally got the check deposited in my account in February 2026. It took way too long for them to process this. They kept calling me to ask for information they already had. I complained and said it was an easy reimbursement. I was just asking for airfare and nothing more. I had tours, train tickets, but only wanted the reimbursement of my airfare. I called a nunber of times to see where my money was. I gave them an ultimatum that they pay me back by the end of January. They could not even do that..... took them til February to pay up. I could have used the money earlier after I had surgery. They didn't care.... said they were busy . IT took too long to reimburse me... won't be using them anymore. THey should have paid me interest for holding my money so long. Bad service... find another Insurance company.

BAD FAITH DENIAL OF CLAIM
I rarely, if ever, write a negative review on anybody or anything unless it is an outrageous experience. This is such an example.
More often than not I don't bother. I don't think I've actually written a negative review as I generally choose to praise the positive.
However, this claim denial was so outrageous and illogical I feel compelled to warn the consumer about this company's behavior and claims review process.
The basic facts are that I purchased a trip cancellation policy for a ski trip. I had insured this ski trip prior to another ski trip I participated in.
During the prior ski trip I aggravated a previous injury that was covered by this plan.
I tend to be a proactive person. After my injury, I canceled the upcoming trip with the ski club I was scheduled with so that someone else might take advantage of the vacancy and sign up for the trip, as trips are sold out well in advance.
I also thought that my action would save this travel insurance company payment on a claim that I was covered for.
Unfortunately, the person who did in fact sign up to take my place, ended up injured before he made his payment and therefore was able to withdraw.
I then filed this claim approximately two weeks after I had been injured and had canceled my trip.
I explained to Travel Insured International my intentions and common sense actions I took, which was to potentially save them the payment of a claim of approximately $3,000 and give the benefit to another individual who may not have had the opportunity to make this ski trip to France.
After harassing me for all of the medical records and checking every potential claim denial basis, Travel Insured International decided to deny the claim because I canceled the trip prior to getting a MD to document that I couldn’t attend the trip because of medical restrictions, which I did in fact do prior to filing the claim.
Mind you I canceled the trip, but within seven to 10 days I had medical documentation that the injury would not allow me to participate in that ski trip due to medical restrictions so disabling as to recommend canceling my ski trip.
Travel Insured, after months of back and forth, decided to deny the claim based on the hyper technicality that I had canceled the trip prior to getting a Dr. to certify that I had a disabling medical restriction, even though the medical note indicated the disabling injury occurred before the trip.
The intent of the policy was to reimburse me for my losses due to injury. The Dr. was willing to say that based upon her review that I clearly could not ski on the trip. Yet Travel Insured International’s reviewer apparently decided that, we can save ourselves $3000 by depending on a hyper technicality.
Clearly all we need to know as to trusting Travel Insured to do the right thing is that they will not if given any basis to deny. Clearly I had an injury that would not allow me to go on the trip which was documented shortly after I canceled the ski trip although not prior to canceling.
If you ever need travel insurance you certainly want to avoid this group!
I would strongly encourage you to sign up or check out Allianz, who offers excellent coverage and pursue the intent of policies, without creating hyper technical defenses to deny coverage.
I consider this decision clearly a bad faith abuse as defined in insurance law.

Overall excellent experience with Travel Insured International. Used them several times, but had to cancel our last trip scheduled for the end of November due to illness. The claim process was very good. It took a little longer than than 15 days but that was probably due to the holidays. Claim was paid in full. Very grateful that I had their insurance and would use them again. Debbie was very helpful with getting paperwork submitted, and Kristin called and explained the payment was appproved and payment process.
