User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:106.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/106.0
Steps to reproduce:
I'm using Kubuntu 22.10 (latest version, fully updated) and Firefox 106 distributed via snap.
- I take a screenshot using Spectacle
- I drag the image from Spectacle into Firefox (to upload it to a website, such as Slack, Google Drive, Facebook etc.)
- The image is not uploaded. Nothing happens.
Actual results:
The image seems to be dragged: I see it's outline, the cursor has a (+) sign when hovering over Firefox with an upload drop zone. But when I release the mouse button, nothing happens.
Expected results:
The image should be uploaded to a website.
Spectacle hold images in the /tmp/ directory, maybe that's causing the issue?

The Bugbug bot thinks this bug should belong to the 'Core::Widget: Gtk' component, and is moving the bug to that component. Please correct in case you think the bot is wrong.

Can you try non-snap version, i.e. plain Mozilla binary?
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_Firefox_problems#Testing_Mozilla_binaries
If so, can you create a screencast of the issue?
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/How_to_debug_Firefox_problems#Collect_information_for_a_bug_report
Thanks.
The issue does not occupying with non-snap version of Firefox. Do you still need a screencast?

The product::component has been changed since the backlog priority was decided, so we're resetting it.

I tried on Ubuntu 22.04, on Firefox 106RC and Firefox 107RC-build2, and I get the same result. This result is also encountered on Chrome.
When dragging a screenshot from Spectacle, an error page is displayed, notifying that the file is not accessible.
Note that if I drag&drop the file from the saved folder in Firefox, the screenshot is correctly displayed.
Am I missing some steps? Please let me know If I can help any further with the investigation.
