Steps to reproduce:

Upgraded firefox from 120 to 121 and today to 122 downloads and installing extensions stopped working. Downloads and installing extensions worked in firefox 120 version.

I think it is related with error: " "media.gmp-gmpopenh264.lastDownloadFailReason": "NotFoundError: Could not create unique path""

Actual results:

When downloading file getting error download failed. Installing extensions fails to download too.

Hello,

I could not reproduce the issue on the latest Firefox Release (122.0/20240118164516) or the latest Firefox Snap (122.0/20240118234152) under Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

Extension downloads and installation from either Add-ons Manager or AMO work as expected and do not fail. File downloads of other kinds also work without issues.

If there is anything to do here at all by us, then it would relate to Snap. This is not a bug in WebExtensions.

Upgraded firefox from 120 to 121 and today to 122 downloads and installing extensions stopped working. Downloads and installing extensions worked in firefox 120 version.

I think it is related with error: " "media.gmp-gmpopenh264.lastDownloadFailReason": "NotFoundError: Could not create unique path""

This is not related to extensions, but the error message suggests that there may be a potential filesystem issue. For example, the filesystem remounted read-only, the disk being full, or another permission error.

Thank you for looking I managed to fix it but not sure why it happen.

So to fix it I reset firefox back to default settings and restarted computer and all worked.

Can you also explain what was the problem in the first place ? Do you mean downloading files or installing extensions were broken ?
