Boundaries - AKA - Don’t Follow If:

  1. Don’t send me asks about discourse while I’m liveblogging. Here’s the FAQ responses and the reasons why this is now a rule.
  2. Don’t Follow if You need specific things tagged for triggers. I will never promise to tag requested triggers with 100% accuracy. I have a memory disorder. I will forget. I frequently don’t remember to tag common triggers, either.
  3. Don’t Follow if You think it’s morally acceptable to tell others to die for any reason. I’m fandom old and I do not care about the opinions of anyone who suicide baits over something as inane as what book someone likes to talk about. Also, if you use the askbox to send me hate, expect to be clowned or ignored.
  4. Don’t Follow if You believe in respectability politics. I’ve been queer for a decade and without good reason I will not be presentable about it.
  5. Don’t Follow if You will tag any applicable posts with “q-slur” “d-slur” “f-slur” “t-slur” etc. Not only is it extremely uncomfortable for me to have my identities be referred to as such, it is TERF Kool-aid to reduce reclaimed terms back to slur status. I have no issue with tags like “faggot mention” or “queer” etc if a follower of yours does not want to see a specific word. I promise you’ll survive without my blog’s content if this isn’t acceptable to you <3
  6. Don’t Follow if You don’t like swearing or cursing.
  7. Don’t Follow if You don’t want to see these common topics, or get untagged spoilers: ADHD, Autism, Ableism, Chronic Pain/Illness, Memory Problems, Poor, Queer, Disabled, My Twitch Links, Dogs[mostly my own], Plants [Mostly my own], Minecraft, MCYT, Technoblade, Ph1lza, Quackity, Cellbit, Schlatt, Roier, FitMC, DSMP, QSMP, Hermitcraft, LifeSMP series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, or my complaining about fandom wank.

honestly the main reason i care about harm reduction is that i believe addicts are deserving of life. "what if they don't get clean?" they still deserve to live. "what if they don't contribute?" they still deserve to live. "what if they 'abuse' the system?" they still deserve to live.

addicts deserve to live by virtue of them being human. nothing will change that. nobody deserves to die of an overdose.

This is how I explain to people the idea of free clean needles. People are always going to do drugs. It's been that way since they were discovered. The best thing we can do as a society is to try to get people clean, but if they cannot stay clean, then we need to keep them safe.

Preach that! My dad caught HIV because free clean needles weren't a thing. They'd rather people got sick and died than to make sure they were, at least, as safe as we could help them be.

And what I cannot abide by is the so called "justice" system being punitive towards those people. Which, thinking about it, is kind of ableist.

Because people don't go around destroying their bodies like that for fun. It means something is wrong. So to arrest people and put them in a cell with actual criminals for this? Bonkers (and don't get me started on how prison in the first place is such a stupid system in itself for everyone involved)

Those people need psychological help and support! Think punishing them is going to get them clean? Then you're stupid af lol. Or you're ableist and just want these people out of your sight and mind.

Let me tell you a story:

When my mum was around 12 years old, the cops showed up at my grandparents' home and violently arrested my 20-something uncle, Fred, who was an addict, in front of my mum and my at the time 5-YEAR-OLD aunt, traumatizing them for life.

Then, when my mum was 14 and my uncle got out of prison... he got high again. Surprise! He ended up on a train, got high with a friend, went into overdose. His friend panicked, because he knew if he told someone, the police would be waiting at the next station to arrest him, and so he left my uncle to die. And if fucked my family up.

Fred was a good person.

When mum couldn't sleep as a kid, he would tuck her into bed and tell her there was a baby wolf named Leonard napping under her bed with her... my name is Eleonore, by the way.

Whenever Fred came home to visit, he would play football with the kids in the neighborhood because he knew it made them happy for an adult to take the time to play with them.

He was a good person and he was taken from the people who loved him because the justice system isn't, actually, just.

So maybe, society should stop shaming and punishing addiction and start treating it with the same respect and compassion as we should give any mental illness. Maybe then people will want to get better.

“They might not get clean”

It should be far more important that some ARE getting clean. If that’s really your goal.

Thinking about the Holmes story where a blind girl goes to him and is like "My fiancé is missing and he kept telling me the week leading up to his disappearance that he would always love me and come back for me,were anything to happen so I think he knew he was in trouble and I love him so much and I'm going to wait for him but I'd like to find him faster,ya know?" And Holmes figures out that it was this girl's parents to scam her out of money she was owed from an estate which she gave to them because she was still living at home, which she wouldn't be if she ever married,so her step father PRETENDED TO DATE HER for MONTHS to keep her from ever getting engaged to a real person and when Holmes finds out he confronts this man and this man is like "Well, you caught me! But it wasn't illegal:) so:)" and Holmes is like "No,but it was sickening and cruel and if she had a brother or good male friend he should post you up and whip you but she doesn't." And the man is like "No,she doesn't." And does the Victorian version of sticking his tongue out and Holmes is like "Well,I guess I'll do then!" And HE PULLS OUT HIS HUNTING WHIP.

I love when not getting my meds because of paperwork stuff means that I get to have nonstop heart palpitations. I can’t even search how long beta blocker withdrawals last and get a good answer bc every source is talking abt going off it on purpose 🙄

Good news for me: new mattress arrived! And I can’t feel the bars of my bedframe through it!!

Bad news for my heart: move heavy stuff heart go brrrrrrrrrrrrr

THE BED. It is set up. That was fuckin exhausting to do on 5 hrs sleep.

I am shocked though! This is my first new mattress in about uhhh. Almost a decade. It’s also like half the thickness of my previous mattress but I can’t feel my bedframe through it even when I’m on my knees on it, which is impressive especially because it’s still foam, this one is just latex foam instead of memory foam.

It was 800$, but I’ll be real and say that the fact that its half the thickness of my previous one that I could feel the slats of my bedframe thru easily is. Woagh. I won’t even be mad if I end up needing a mattress pad or smth. I thought for sure my weight would make this thing crunch into the center instantly.

Hate it when TikTok farm cosplayers and cottagecore types say stuff like "I'm not going to use modern equipment because my grandmothers could make do without it." Ma'am, your great grandma had eleven children. She would have killed for a slow cooker and a stick blender.

I’ve noticed a sort of implicit belief that people used to do things the hard way in the past because they were tougher or something. In reality, labor-saving devices have historically been adopted by the populace as soon as they were economically feasible. No one stood in front of a smoky fire or a boiling pot of lye soap for hours because they were virtuous, they did it because it was the only way to survive.
