i have a fun headcanon for Shinsou that his dad is not in fact Aizawa or Mic (though i certain have fun with both of those ideas in certain storylines i dont see it as even close to ‘could be canon’) but is instead Giran
Aesthetically:
- he dresses in purple and he has pink eyes and grey hair. Those are very similar to Hitoshi’s purple/lavender, close enough that they could be the same bloodline if you mix someone with more vibrant colours.
- He even wears a scarf, and his hair has a little bit of the 'gravity defying spikiness’. Obviously the way you dress doesn’t necessarily pass down by genetics (unless the younger person was inspired by the older persons fashion sense), but it does mean theyd look good standing next to one another
- They both have kind of 'zipper teeth’, and similiar shaped eyes and eyebrows
(though funfact that im just now finding out that Giran is 5'7" and Shinsou 5'10" so MANLET, him towering over his dad is a fun idea)
Quirk:
- Girans quirk isnt shown in the series, but its actually called Muddied, and “grants him the ability to cause minor amnesia to his target by making contact with their head, causing their memories of the previous five minutes and the next five minutes to become vague.”
- thaaaats a daterape quirk, man. like. objectively. i bet someone petitioned to name it 'Roofie’, whether or not he ever used it for anything like that. Shinsous quirk Brainwashing is seen exactly the same way! as a quirk that would be used instantly for sex crimes. So. Both mental quirks that do something to other people that could be used similiar ways. IIRC Brainwashing also makes people (other than deku) somewhat forget what they did under its influence too, so its really stacks up!
How that would fit into the lore:
- If Shinsou had an ACTUAL CRIMINAL for a dad itd really go a long way to showing why he’s so anxious about being seen that way, why its SO important for him to be a hero. also fun if you think Shinsou had the same thought processes as Todoroki, believing Izuku had a heroic dad to give him his heroic quirk, assuming izuku got everythign handed to him while Shinsou is struggling so much
- if we go back up to 'thats a roofie quirk’ and assume this murderous villain bringing homeless teenagers to AFO for bounties to go kill other kids WOULD in fact use it for manipulate people for sex, then yeah this dude probably has a lot of kids that he’s not takign care of. he strikes me as the kind of guy that doesnt pay child support but does send a christmas gift, makes it to your birthday some years but not others, helps your mom out when her car breaks down by getting her a job somewhere sketchy but never makes it to your recital or ballgame or whatever.
- Shinsou with daddy issues about a guy that he looked up to as a kid, longed to have around, wondered why he didnt come around, wondered if it was his fault, but eventually realized actually he sucks and you were looking up to a bad person and fearing you got tainted by that so now your goign as hard as you can in the opposite direction but some part of you still hopes he’ll hear and be proud… idk that just suits him. most everyone is always getting 'orphan’ vibes off him, and this goes into that general area neatly. just. a kid with a single mom and a dad that sucks and barely exists but was probably always nice to him and brought him to the movies every time they hung out, which happened less and less as Shinsou started Noticing
anyways like i said this is just a headcanon, i dont think the narrative gave us CLUES and i was SUPPOSED to figure this out, this is just a fun idea i have in my back pocket. i havent had a good reason to use it for anything, so i let it out into the world hopeing someone else will be inspired by it XD
