I used Buffer to manage social media accounts. It's a great platform to manage multiple accounts and posts. It really helped me streamline my tasks efficiently.
Buffer saves me so much time.
Tools are efficient and easy to use, easy to swap out accounts and channels too.
What I would like to see in the future:
- Substack support
- Community access on mobile as it is only on desktop for now, to quickly respond to post replies.
The interface is intuitive to use and super useful to schedule your posts months in advance.
Love it!

I like the interface of the system, fast customer support

You think you’re saving time but you really aren’t.
As other reviewers pointed out, the app constantly fails to post for no reason. Then the queue gets full and you have to login to delete posts manually. Every single week.
Easy fix: add a feature to auto-delete failed posts. Suggested it many times to Buffer Support. They just don't care and find garbage excuses like "we don't want to bloat the app with too many features" then they pretend no one ever requested this feature, yet it's full of negative reviews pointing the same issues.
Buffer simply do not care about customers and prefer to add useless features like a dark mode instead of actual useful feature that prevent their product from completely breaking up and stopping all posts due to queue being full (because their app failed to post)
GARBAGE
Multiple Failed Posts EVERY SINGLE Day
This means I need to ultimately go ahead and manually post stuff. Might as well do it entirely manually given the headache this causes !
Buffer has so much promise! If only it did what it claims to do, it would be wonderful. What it does, instead, is mess up whatever it touches. Every scheduled post fails to send. It's something different each time. I get an error message, fix whatever Buffer is telling me is wrong (which, BTW, baffles me because I have no problem making the EXACT SAME POST manually. It is 100% a Buffer problem.), and then my next post fails to send for some new reason (also BS). I HATE this service with every fiber of my being. Oh, and let's not forget that what it promises to do for a fee, you can actually do FOR FREE directly in each social media app. Buffer is garbage.
The company does not allow you to easily REMOVE a channel from the free plan, so if you want to experiment, you're screwed.
This service will ruin your performance on all scheduled posts. Many of the social platforms care if it's posted by a bot, or if the post is scheduled through a 3rd party. DO NOT use this service. You will save yourself a lot of disappointment.
Since its release Buffer has been an essential tool for anyone with a website wanting to maintain a high social media presence.
It's ability to schedule posts and hold a supply of drafts for posting is especially beneficial where a user wants to cycle through a series of messages over a period of time.
It's ability to have the latest Wordpress posts automatically added to the posting queue is also extremely useful for websites publishing material daily.
However, in recent years additional "features"(none of which I have found a use for or find necessary for performing the primary role of the app) have seen constant performance problems develop, impinging its usefulness.
It now runs like a dog with queues jerking up and down, counters not updating, and queues not updating as the application tries to perform an impossible number of simultaneous tasks to meet the demands of the new "features".
Worse, the company has developed somewhat of a bunker mentality so defensive that even when A USER SPENDS A LOT OF TIME documenting a problem and screen recording it, the initial response is to still blame the user.
No one takes ownership of a problem and each reply to an issue is responded to by someone new, with little prior knowledge of the problem apart from what they've read in the prior correspondence.
This most recent issue has seen me waste more than 30 hours to prove that the issue is with the way Buffer interacts with Cloudflare and not an issue with my websites, and attempting to do Buffer's job and find a workable fix.
If your product isn't working with Cloudflare that's the developer's problem, not the user's.
Even worse, the company knew about this conflict before I spent all of the time proving the fault wasn't my website.
After eight years I'm totally fed up with Buffer and the constant "improvements" without notification and am now seeking a replacement.
I’ve been using buffer for over 5 months and it’s awesome!
I’ve gone form 0 followers to 100 thanks to buffer!
The most useful service that buffer has to offer is feeds, I love being able to link rss feeds and make a post in seconds.
Nice free plan, easy to use for the marketing of my startup
I contacted Buffer support inquiring about the scheduling function not working and they closed my account. I've been with them for over a year and never contacted support before now. I would go with another service
Since using Buffer we have lost 3 account pages on Facebook and yesterday they finally let us know that Buffer's automated system is why they shut down our account manager profile and my personal account (ad manager) for using "auto publishing" programs that flagged our accounts for deletion for violating their community guidelines. We are unable to appeal and we are unable to create any new accounts. Thanks to Buffer we have lost over a years worth of work and it's harmed our nonprofit so badly that we have to close down because ALL of our advertising was done through FB and IG and now we can't use either.
Buffer disconnected from Instagram a week and a half ago. We have not been able to establish a reconnection. This is during the height of the Mother's Day push. We have lost productivity, engagement, and profitability due to their lack of customer service. BUFFER'S CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT AVAILABLE DURING BUSINESS HOURS. You can only reach them via email. They respond overnight, and will not communicate during our business hours, at all. Even begging to speak with someone after all of their copy + paste tutorials via email failed to resolve our connection issues, I was offered to schedule between the hours of 5am and 9am. If Buffer stops working, don't expect them to help.
Destroys performance on scheduled posts. Much better for the algorithm to post in app
Failed to send a post yet again!
"Error:
It looks like we had some trouble sending this through. Please Retry the post & try sending this post again later."
Don't waste your time with this non-intuitive, useless rubbish!
i was rather happy with Buffer until their latest update.
It will no longer let me log in so I create a new account.
Most of the last hour has been spent ignoring or dismissing their sales-pitch popups.
I'm going elsewhere, goodbye Buffer!
The dev on this sight is not good, I have had to contact customer service multiple times. The "analytics" aren't great and I still haven't been able to connect my instagram analytics. You don't even get all the features of just posting through specific apps, like polls, tagging, etc. I am not renewing my membership
Within a week of connecting my accounts to buffer, mail & LinkedIn was hacked, Facebook was attempted and I quickly had to secure Twitter and TikTok... I disconnected from the service immediately.
I have a feeling a staff is using privileged information to enter people's accounts.
