Scam damage charges
Have hired from this company many times. Picked up car at Alicante airport on 31/01/2026, first car had knocking noise from steering. Changed car. Returned car on 07/02/2026. Received charge of €300 for damage to passenger door which I never used as a solo passenger. Provided evidence via video and photos.

This was by far one of the worst car rental experiences I have ever had.
I made a reservation on January 13 and paid in advance €190.72 to pick up a car on January 31 for 5 days in Milan. When I arrived at the counter on time, Centauro flatly refused to hand over the car, inventing a completely false and absurd excuse about my driving licence.
They claimed that the issue date of the licence did not match the qualification date, which is technically wrong and shows total incompetence.
All EU driving licences have different issue dates and category qualification dates. With the same licence, I have rented cars multiple times in Italy, Germany and Prague without any problem whatsoever.
To make things even worse, on the same day, immediately after being rejected by Centauro, I rented a car from Avis Budget without a prior reservation, and they had zero issues with my licence. This alone proves that the problem was not the licence — the problem was Centauro.
Because of Centauro’s unprofessional and careless behavior, I:
• Wasted over 4 hours in pointless waiting and running around
• Was forced to pay €520 for a last-minute rental
• Suffered a direct financial loss of over €300
• Had my travel plans seriously disrupted and ruined
The staff were arrogant, dismissive and completely uninterested in solving the problem, treating me as an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.
This was not a misunderstanding — it was incompetence, poor training and lack of basic customer respect.
Centauro Milan is a serious risk for travelers: you can arrive with a paid reservation and still be left without a car, without your money, and without support.
❌ Do not trust their low prices

❌ Choose a professional rental company instead

I am a regular customer of your company. This is the second time I have had an argument with an employee of your agency at the Milan Malpensa airport. She is very rude and arrogant. The last time we argued so loudly that I asked her to call the police about her behavior and I even took a photo of her. But her colleague, a very polite lady, asked me to stop the conversation.

6 months after returning the car, they charged me €266 for a missing parcel shelf. It wasn't missing. I proved this to my credit card company and they have requested the refund from Centauro.
Centauro also kept my fuel deposit, even though they stated the fuel was full and correct on return. But still no refund.
Today, now the credit card company is asking for the refund for the parcel shelf, they are saying they have found more damage on the car. 11 months after returning the car. No prove, just lies again.

Are you going to get the right sized car?
Booked what I thought would be a MG ZS online in Malaga but when the confirmation came through it was for a Citroen C3 (much smaller car) - complained, was told it was a mistake and that it should have been a C3 Aircross (also much smaller car). Be very aware that their car groupings span a wide selection of different size cars so you have no idea what size car you will get until you pick it up - cancelled

My last time with Centauro
I’ve used Centauro dozens of times BUT this time I had made my reservation through Ryanair.
I took the full AXA insurance
The young lady at the Centauro desk refused to give us the car. She said it would not be insured. I had to either pay €189 extra for Centauro insurance or leave €1400 deposit to pay for any damage they found on the car being returned.
Bad enough, but when I showed my AXA policy she told me “I don’t care. It’s Sunday, I could be home with my family” She refused to give me keys.
Her colleague eventually intervened and gave me the keys. But only after I paid €189.
Bad job!!

They are a dishonest business. They lure you in with cheap rentals, then defraud customers.
1- They impose unexpected charge of 110 Euros for GAS, claiming they are refundable, yet never return the money.
2- When the car develops a problem, they fail to honor the promised replacement. So, I've used the car only for half the period I've paid.
3- They never issue the refunds for neither the 110 Euros nor the 5 days remaining in my contract
4- They charged my card 44 Euros again for GAS!!

Scammers!
We rented a car for 48 hours from Alicante. We took images of the entire car when we collected, it was full of dents and scratches. You’re not shown the car before you get the keys, and there is no where or no one to confirm the existing damage with.
A week after we returned the car at the end of our trip (we also took images of the car when we dropped it back off because again, there is no one around to confirm the drop off with) we had been deducted over €200 for damage to the car which we absolutely did not cause.
To clarify, we collected the car late on a Friday night and drove to Murcia where it was parked on a large secure gated driveway. It remained here until Sunday afternoon when we used it to return to Alicante. We parked it in the bay and walked to drop off the keys but no one inspected the car again - conveniently. At no point was the car in a place where it could have been damaged, and we 100% know we did not cause any damage!
Our images clearly showed the damage was pre-existing on the car. We had a long back and forth with Centauro and they deemed our images would not work in our favour.
Absolute SCAM! Will not be using again, and I’d also advise everyone to be cautious to use this company!

This shithole garage is an absolutely disgusting place with disgusting frontline employees and disgusting service.
We booked and paid in advance. Five days car rental in Bergamo — everything was confirmed, and they charged us immediately.
They kept sending notifications that our booking was confirmed and active, with the exact dates. When we arrived, their description said we had to wait in the parking lot for a shuttle that would take us to their office. We waited around 45 minutes instead of 10.
Once there, they kept checking and checking and checking nonstop. Then, all of a sudden, without any reason, they denied providing the car.
They wasted half of our day. This is an absolute disgusting fraud and a disgrace.
This company is a scam — avoid it by all means.

I was not able to rent without taking out the insurance
I rented a car through a 3rd party with the intention of paying the deposit instead of taking out insurance. The rental payment went through, but not the deposit. I tried with 4 different cards from 4 different banks and each said they are not denying a payment and that Centauro must be blocking it from going through. After 90 minutes at the counter I said to charge the insurance and it went right through. The system will not process a rental without insurance. When I disputed it with Centauro they said if I didn't want the insurance I shouldn't have signed the contract. I explained I was there for 90 minutes trying to process the rental by paying the deposit and they said they have a signed contract and are closing my dispute.

Awful stressful experience
Car was perfect. However when dropping it back to Palma airport we were accused of having broken the back windscreen wiper. We were under pressure to catch our flight so had to pay a fee to have it replaced. We knew we hadn't broken it. Found a photo of the car when we got it and sent it on, they never answered us. The lady we dealt with when we returned the car was rude and very pushy. Very difficult to deal with. Will never hire from them again. It was all done to just extract extra money from us because we had chosen not to pay the excess. Stay clear of them.

Worst company ever , do not trust them , they are plain thieves.
I rented a car in Athens, Greece for two months . They told me I can return it anytime and only get charged for the days I used it.
I returned the car after 9 days and they charged me for the whole two months . Also charged me for extra insurance that I did not agree to. I returned the car with a full tank of gas and the gage did not registered and they charged me for empty. They are very rude and total thieves. Do not ever do business with this company.

Short and sweet: Holiday in Madeira in Jan 2025, was provided a car which broke down on the motorway after just 1.5 days of driving, in the right gear and on a completely flat road. The clutch went somehow? As an experienced driver it's the first time it had ever happened to me, honestly.
Day ruined, had to call out the recovery team etc.
They replace the vehicle, but I find out on the drop-off day that they're keeping my initial security deposit and a recovery charge on top - totalling around £1,100 after exchange.
I demanded to see a service history of the initial vehicle but none was provided, so I had to take the hit.
I later saw previous reviews claiming to have had the same experience. I'd strongly recommend avoiding this company.

Avoid this company
When I picked up the car the man very aggressively tried to make me accept their expensive insurance.
He told me that even minor damage would cost me many hundreds of Euros. He said this should not be surprising since the hire charge was cheap. He said they have to make a profit somehow. Worse of all he told me that if I had a puncture they would have to tow the car away and it would cost more than 800 Euros. He said that I could not change the wheel because there was not a spare provided in the car. This was a lie; there was a wheel and the tools for changing it!
I was also told on the phone that returning the car just a little late could result in me paying for an extra day plus an administration charge.

Be Wary of This Bunch of Scammers
Picked up car at Alicante Airport. Verbally declined to accept their “Smart cover”, as I already had excess insurance. Car was in poor condition, 96,000kms on the clock, many scratches on bodywork and the interior stunk of cigarette smoke. On asking for a different car, I was advised rudely that nothing else was available.
After returning the car, I noticed that €189 of my €299 deposit hadn’t been returned. Queried with Centauro who insist that I accepted Smart Cover and refused to refund my full deposit.
My first and definitely last experience with this bunch of chancers.

Our flight from Manchester was delayed
Our flight from Manchester was delayed. When we arrived in Faro we went to the pick up point for off site transport only to see the girl that should have picked us up drive away. There was lots of us waiting and calling the company but got a message saying they was closed until 7am the next morning. We was all dumped we rang local hotels but because it was now just last midnight the rate went up so we, and lots of others went back into the airport and waited through the night. I’m in my 60’s and was at the time awaiting spinal fusion surgery and in a lot of pain but was travelling with my two sons so was well taken care of. Others weren’t so lucky like the elderly . Following morning we got a taxi to the pick up point for 7am entered and there was the blonde girl. She didn’t give a damn about it and was rude.

I booked a car online in advance and later called to see if I could change the return date to one day later and was told no but go to the website and cancel the existing booking and make a new one. Only problem was there were no automatic cars available on a new booking so they told me to extend it at the time of collection. When I went to collect the car they said couldn't extend it, not even for one day. I spoke to the manager and she said it is not possible because the booking is only a 29 day booking and cannot be extended. I said can you cancel this existing booking and make a new booking for 30 days and the answer was no. Customer service was non existent.
