The recipes are good, but the amount of food I get for the price is not good. I have had glitches where the recipe card doesn’t match the ingredients, potatoes that are bad with soft spots, and green onions with biofilm. There is a wide variety of food options to choose from. My food is delivered by a service that expects a tip, so there is an extra $10. I like that I can get easy to prepare meals and lower calorie options.

I would like more reminders about upcoming deadlines to finalize or skip deliveries. My life is crazy. Help me out. Companies can automate this type of outreach much more easily than I can. I used to get these reminders, either text or email, from CSA or similar programs, so I know it's possible. I hate seeing a box land on my doorstep that isn't customized or wanted (we travel a good bit) because I forgot about a deadline.
As for food, we mostly like it. We only eat vegetarian (not necessarily vegan) meals, so they get a bit repetitive. One week I had to skip because everything felt like it was either a sandwich, mac-n-cheese variant or something with a lot of mushrooms, and those don't work for us.
Wish I knew how to cut down the packaging waste for the little ingredients, especially things I do keep in my pantry, like mayo, or spices that are sold near me. I could make spice blends if they would specify components and ratios.
The marketing angle is "try cooking together!" with a brochure showing a happy couple in the kitchen. We have cooked 7 nights a week since the start of the pandemic, but the burden to come up with and shop for the week falls to me, and I just plain run out of ideas. So this is my fallback.
I called about a technical problem and the agent got it all fixed quickly and without any stress to me.
Our first order never arrived. We received a notice that delivery was being delayed by one day. It never came and there were no updates. I contacted HelloFresh and had to ask the CS rep to elevate the matter as they did not have the authority to resolve it. Then, the second order arrive and the corn starch package had "exploded" in the shipping box. Corn starch everywhere. There was supposed to be salmon, but that was completely missing. These service-related issues should not be so difficult to execute.
The vegetables are fresh the first 2 days. After that. They get flimsy and shriveled. And don’t taste that good.
The food is good. The veggies that come in the box seem to be fresh. So far nothing bruised or rotten. The meats are packaged well. The recipes are pretty simple and so far everything tastes good.still takes some time to make dinner. But most meals are done in about 40 mins or less. And it takes the decision fatigue out of “What’s for dinner”.
Deliveries constantly delayed, ingredients missing from almost every box, and atrocious customer service that hangs up on you when you try to report these issues.

My meals came warm no ice in the box. The meat was bad and one of the packs of meat was leaking and was now all over everything else. So none of the food was edible. No one sent a new box.No one gave me a refund.I was out the money and the food. Once I was able to actually speak with a human and not the chatbot.I was told that I am outside of the time frame to be compensated.
Dislike that usually there is a recipe card missing and I have to go find the recipe on the website and print these out - not good. Also dislike that some of the produce is wrinkly looking and on the small side like an onion the size of a shallot and a half size pepper. I usually have to pull produce out of my own drawer to add to beef up the veg-a shame for the price. Also didn't get my third meal with my last box and had to call and tell you-need quality control maybe to check the box before shipping. What I like is that the food tastes good because the spices and condiments add taste. I like the breadth of choices across different cuisine and preferences.
My coworker got me to sign up for Hello Fresh. Right from the start, I have had issues. Whether it came on wrong day to spiked vegetables to now my most recent box… the beef and shrimp were thawed and the ice pack was melted. The box came warm. After my 8 weekends I will be done!
I’ve enjoyed the meals however the delays in shipping are troublesome. I’ve chosen my delivery day because it fits in my weekly routine however it’s been delayed or not shown up.
I did not get the usual placemat size directions with my order. Following it in line was not quite as easy.
With all of our dietary restrictions, we were finding so few meals that we can eat. Plus, with our schedule, we found meals building up, even ordering only a couple each week. But loved having all the ingredients measured and present for me. Enjoy preparing the meals. Quality ingredients. Sufficient serving sizes.
