Miriam Ballard, she’s a good professional and skilled person.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to you Miriam Ballard for your care and concern you have shown me, and for working tirelessly to ensure that the law worked in our favour. If it weren’t for your analytical skills and knowledge, the matter wouldn’t have been settled by now. I cannot thank you enough for your assistance. Your legal expertise and professionalism went above and beyond my expectations throughout the course of my case.
You are someone who is more special in our community, and i cannot even hesitate to recommend many people to you.
Incorrect advice. Do not use this firm.
Completely useless. Gave advice that was incorrect. Followed up with a written report that didn't reflect our meeting and that only tried to sell additional services.
DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

Visa services
Very thorough and helpful in helping me obtain my visa. Submitted the application on my behalf and kept me apprised of the status. Would definitely recommend to those in need of immigration services.

Great words for Harpreet Kaur and the IAS UK Team
Harpreet Kaur was my case manager for my application for UK Citizenship. My case was a tad more complicated then most as she also assisted in obtaining UK citizenship for my mother. Working diligently for nearly a year she and others on her team worked thru all the wickets needed and both my mother and I are now UK citizens (or will be soon when the citizenship ceremony is scheduled for me). In addition, she assisted my cousin to also become a UK citizen. Overall IAS and Harpreet took great care of my family. Thank you.

Lack of competence, loss of trust, and avoidance of responsibility
My experience with Immigration Advice Service (IAS) has been deeply disappointing and concerning.
I relied on IAS for professional immigration advice precisely because this is a highly technical area where mistakes have serious consequences. Unfortunately, due to inadequate knowledge and incorrect guidance on basic compliance issues, my Sponsor Licence application was refused. These were not complex or borderline issues — any competent advisor should have identified them immediately.
What has been even more troubling is what followed. Rather than taking responsibility, IAS attempted to justify the refusal by relying on vague explanations and selectively reframing events. Clear errors were minimised, and accountability was avoided. Anyone who carefully reviews the written evidence and correspondence can see that the advice provided was wrong.
The most significant issue here is trust. I trusted IAS to protect me from avoidable refusal risks. That trust turned out to be my biggest mistake. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to be extremely cautious, to document everything, and to seriously reconsider placing their trust in this firm.
Update after their response:
Your reply still fails to address the central issue raised in my review. At no point during the entire process was I ever advised — even once — that my documents were not sufficient to proceed with the application or that the case should be paused due to a risk of refusal. There is no written or verbal record of me being warned that continuing as advised could result in rejection.
Referring responsibility to the interview is also misleading. The refusal decision itself makes it clear that no issue was taken with the interview answers as such. Instead, the refusal was based entirely on objective compliance matters — including salary structure, right-to-work checks, and financial sustainability. These are precisely the areas where a professional adviser has a duty to warn a client clearly and explicitly about refusal risks.
If I had been advised that these issues could lead to refusal and had chosen to proceed regardless, responsibility would rightly rest with me. However, that never happened. I was consistently reassured that everything was in order and that the application was ready to be submitted. I was never told that the documents were not ready or that there was a serious risk of refusal.
General statements or generic guidance do not constitute professional warnings. A competent adviser must clearly say when a case is not ready and explain the consequences of proceeding. That clarity was never provided.
I will also be sharing a detailed account of my experience with IAS on professional platforms such as LinkedIn and other relevant networks. This is not out of hostility, but out of responsibility — so others can make informed decisions based on real client experiences. Formal complaints may have limitations, but transparency does not.
Trust is fundamental in immigration matters. In my case, that trust was misplaced, and I sincerely hope no one else has to experience the same sense of betrayal of trust that I did.
Note: Do not rely on the positive reviews alone, as they are likely from straightforward cases; read the negative reviews carefully — many describe experiences similar to mine, where responsibility was avoided, and a lack of sufficient knowledge became evident.
I stand by my review.

Most supportive experience
Feel really grateful to IAS for having helped me with my asylum claim. I was referred to them through a local charity. Their lovely community coordinator Jada helped me get onboarded quickly and soon after in touch with my advisor Lauren. The process has come with an immense mental toll which my advisor really helped elevate. From aiding in my prep for my interviews, breaking down the whole process and everything to entail with that to my specific circumstances. I was able to put my best foot forward and I'm grateful to have received a positive outcome from it. Would recommend fully. The team are all lovely :)

Fiancée to Spousal Visa route
Fiancée to Spousal Visa route. Wendy Goor made the whole experience straightforward and easy to understand. Each question I had was answered quickly by Wendy. Definitely recommend IAS, especially Wendy as she was incredibly helpful and was always available to talk to.

I paid for IAS to apply for a passport…
I paid for IAS to apply for a passport for my son. It would have given him dual citizenship to help with his education. However, the caseworker allocated to the case ( Lola Tinubu) is totally clueless. I paid for AIS to apply on my behalf, but had to do my own research for the correct information required by the passport office. When confronted, Lola told me that she can not know everything. On the contrary, it is her job to know, but she did not know even simple facts. Several of my questions to her were unanswered despite repeated requests. She cancelled a video call but forgot to inform me, disrupting a whole day. I can not contact the passport office directly to obtain answers, as Lola will not send the information I need to contact them. I have now waited almost a year for this application, just a simple passport. I have now been waiting for a month for her to answer my last email, meanwhile, AIS sent a request to me for a review of their service, even though the case is still open. This has been a total fiasco from the beginning, and no end in sight. I paid good money for a service that was never provided, and now all of my documents, passports etc., are held up for 11 months preventing my family from enjoying a holiday.
I would recommend that everyone avoids this company. I would certainly never use them again. They are completely hopeless.
So, one month later and here is an update. Notice that every post receives an excuse or thank you, but not this one. No offer of a refund, not even an apology. Nothing. Can not admit their incompetence. These people are only interested in your money.
Helpful, professional service with smooth process after initial chasing
Very helpful and professional service. Our lawyer, Saimah, was knowledgeable and supportive, and guided us clearly through each step. At the start we did have to chase a little for timelines and replies, but once things were moving the communication became smooth and efficient. Overall we’re very satisfied with the outcome and would be happy to recommend their services.

Kurshida was absolutely incredible in assisting us with my fiance's partner visa. She explained everything thoroughly and made the whole process a lot less daunting. We got our decision earlier than expected and now my fiance can be with us for Christmas! Kurshida even knew I wouldn't want to wait a second longer than necessary and emailed me at 1am with the outcome. Thank you Kurshida, for giving my family the best Christmas present.

Avoid Avoid Avoid
This review I made in October 2021 was removed by the company without my consent.
This is the true experience I had with this awful company. Do not remove.
Do not waste your money there. 15min of zoom consulting for £180, I gained No useful information/advice at all. No refund was offered even though she only had 15min of conversation. They were supposed to give me a ring for feedback. No one has contacted since the zoom chat. local solicitor cost 1/3 price for over an hour consulting. way more reasonable price and helpful. I personally felt all IAS look for is money. So Rip off. AVOID

Saima Jabeen was really helpful!
My partner and I had the initial conversation regarding our fiance visa with immigration lawyer Saima Jabeen. Firstly, the office contacted us very promptly, the day we put in our query. Saima got onto the call with us and went through with our case very thoroughly. She was very knowledgeable, professional, patient and understanding of our situation, which put us to ease (since we were really worried about the timeline). Saima helped us clear our doubts and we ended the meeting feeling much relieved! Many thanks to Saima for your guidance. We really appreciate your help and we would definitely contact her and the office again in the future in case we need any immigration advice!
Regards,
Daniel and Srija :)

After having a tough time with the immigration services, I called IAS for help with CoS and visa application. I truly appreciated Jonathan’s time and help with clarifying my questions. That gave some peace of mind and made it easier to understand the process.

Extremely Poor Responsiveness and Lack of Meaningful Advice
My experience with the Immigration Advice Service was deeply disappointing. After an initial consultation, I provided a detailed list of follow-up questions that were essential for our corporate governance process and immigration planning. Despite clearly stating that we were willing to pay for written advisory work, my emails went unanswered for more than two weeks.
No fee quote, no guidance, and no acknowledgement of the substance of the questions were provided. A response only arrived after escalating the issue to a supervisor, and even then it did not address any of the queries raised. The written “advice letter” we received was mostly generic guidance, poorly written, and not tailored to our situation.
This level of service falls far below what is expected for matters as serious and time-sensitive as UK immigration strategy. As a result, we have decided to seek representation elsewhere.
I cannot recommend IAS based on this experience.
