I was charged $110.00 for $85.00 worth of groceries. They advertise as "Free Delivery when they shop at Hannafords Grocery Store, but then there were so many other cost they add on that to pay $25.00 extra dollars is absolutely beyond ridiculous. Then they "suggest" that you even tip the driver on top of the $25.00 extra dollars. I am retired and don't drive which is why I used them. Will NEVER use Instacart again. I would rather walk first. I waited almost 4 hours for a delivery scheduled between 10:00 - 12:00 . It came around 2:30 pm because they couldn't find a driver. Failed to let me know. ( Pat ) South Burlington, Vt.

This is a fraudulant company. They put a 110.88 charge on my credit card for a membership I didnt sign up for. The rep even admitted that I did not knowingly sign up for this.
I’ve had repeated issues with Instacart…
I’ve had repeated issues with Instacart delivering the wrong soda, specifically Polar Diet Grapefruit. The diet and regular versions have very similar labels, so I always leave a clear note for the shopper to read the label carefully, and I set the item to refund if unavailable.
Despite this, shoppers frequently deliver the non-diet (full sugar) version, or a mix of diet and non-diet. This keeps happening even with clear instructions in place.
When I report the issue, refunds are inconsistently handled. In some cases, support has denied refunds or warned me that I’m making “too many complaints,” even though the complaints are caused by the same repeated shopper mistake.
This isn’t an ordering problem on my end. The correct item is selected every time. The issue is lack of attention to labels and Instacart’s failure to address an obvious pattern.
I’m posting this because the problem hasn’t been resolved internally.

Three times out of 5 they delivered my groceries to the upstairs neighbour and just left the bags on the porch. I rec'd my groceries 2 hours later, delivered by my neighbour. The ice cream had totally melted. They did not apply my PC Optimum points, for $120 in groceries!!!, in spite of uploading my PC Card info. I was unable to find my receipt online (no receipt delivered) to check my order, as I believe there were a couple of items wrong or missing. Use VOILA...it is excellent! I'm going back to them.

I ordered from Harris teeter and instacart got the order I already had everything. When the delivery came 6 extra pack of chicken he got extra because they was wasn't enough. You don't add more food to my order you don't know how much money I have. Then he ain't know not one piece of English. I will never u this service again in my life is garbage. No more Instacart
I have been a loyal customer for nearly five years, and I was also a member last year. I was charged a $60.00 tip, despite my clear intention to confirm delivery before agreeing to a 20% gratuity, and the tip percentage was subsequently adjusted to 10%.
The 20% charge was applied, and a refund has been denied. Their justification is that I had a two-hour window to modify the tip, but I never consented to a 20% gratuity.
Consequently, I will either collect my groceries personally or engage an individual who requires income to pick them up. Their fees are excessively high, and they have recently introduced charges for delivery time.
I anticipate that they will face fair competition, or alternatively, I will order from Whole Foods via Amazon, where pricing is transparent upfront.

My concern is really legit, I paid they're 7.95+ fees delivery and added $4 for tip adding up to $15, after my order was delivered I was charged another $3.90 pretty much $20 for a store literally 2 minutes away, when I inquired on the site about the out of nowhere additional $3.90 it said transition fee or some such cockamamie word seeming like because something was changed but it was the same item different name writing (8 pc cold chicken vs cold chicken 8pc) they're customer service blows didn't explain anything and said this is getting nowhere click! Nowhere for them but I don't know where, what, who or why they charged another $4 after delivery, driver's are amazing
Worse Delivery Service Ever
Gives you a discount, makes you place an order and charges you the same amount in different ways. Customer service does not have answers to your questions and is highly incompetent. Extremely poor service!
Disgusting service
Did not get the items that I purchased, despite the shopper, sending me photos of it in stock on the shelves! Customer service refused to refund the service fee or the very large tip. The only thing that they would offer was a $5 credit on my account. I don't have an instacart account and I never will have one!

Instacart should not be allowed to charge a $15 cancellation fee for an order when order has not been shopped yet. I placed an order for Instacart and nobody was assigned to my order yet when I was trying to cancel and then the process somebody did get a sign the order and they charged me a cancellation fee of $15 for canceling the order very disappointed with Instacart. I am a longtime shopper. Instacart has gone downhill. I would not recommend signing up for Instacart.

Not once but multiple times I have ordered food from this app and it hasn’t arrived, it was never even picked up from the store , I ordered a day before as usual so I can give it time and be prepared with the ridiculous waiting times and times being pushed back and not once has it failed to not be pushed back in the time , today I ordered food from aldis a supermarket and it was set to arrive between 3 pm and 5 pm then it was pushed back 3 additional times, it was pushed back so much that the arrival time of the food was set to after the store was closed , how am I going to get my food of the store is closed and no one picked it up ….. honestly in my opinion this app and company is a scam they shouldn’t be able to do this multiple times has my family stood hungry overnight until the next day because of this , no I cannot drive to pick up the food myself because the location is far and I don’t own a vehicle. This is absolutely ridiculous, not once but everytime I order from there it does this and it can’t be because of the tip I put I always put a reasonable tip sometimes even 10$+ just to make sure I can get the order on time and it always comes out the same i honestly am so upset I don’t feel like this company should be open
Multiple Missing items
Here's the thing about instacart reviews. It's impossible to give an accurate review because it all depends on the shopper/deliverer. I've had very good experiences. My most recent experience was terrible. There were multiple items missing and I didn't realize until I started unpacking. By then I had already left my driver a 5 star review. She was nice, and my delivery was fast,but I didn't yet know that there was a whole bag of produce missing. The best they could do was refund my money. No offer to deliver the items. So I still had to go to the store to get them, defeats the whole purpose of using the service. This has really soured me to instacart. I think this last delivery was my final delivery with them. Not worth the trouble.

DO NOT WORK INSTACART AS A JOB !!! They’ll pamper you at the beginning then throw you under the bus like the rest of us once you find pace!! This is happening to ALL of us shoppers not just me I’ve had multiple other shopper friends explain the same frustration to me. They’ll give you tons of batches when you first start, stay consistent, and eventually you’ll notice you barely even receiving orders like the couldn’t care one bit about you. I’m not a spiteful person I tend to be to accepting sometimes, but I WON’T let this company run over me without voicing it to the public and possibly saving other the HEADACHE. There’s plenty other delivery apps you could work for like Shipt, Spark, DoorDash, UberEats, but Instacart should NOT be one of them. They show NO loyalty to their shoppers and this is coming from someone with 7,000+ orders completed. TRUST I know what I’m talking about.
