Dangerous for Academic Work
Caution is absolutely necessary if you use Jenni AI for academic citations.

I used Jenni AI solely for the purpose of adding in-text citations to my completed paper and simultaneously generating the reference list in the required format. I had written the entire paper myself.

What I didn't notice initially was the critical flaw: Jenni would silently make unauthorized and devastating changes to my paper, ranging from minor wording tweaks to massively altering or completely deleting full paragraphs (huge chunks of my work), without ever prompting me, informing me, or asking for permission.

This resulted in:

Many extra hours of work spent meticulously comparing documents and fixing the corrupted and deleted text.

Badly graded papers in some cases, due to these extreme and unauthorized changes that compromised the integrity of my original research and arguments.

I strongly advise against using this tool for any paper where accuracy and the preservation of your original writing are critical.

As a researcher, it is helpful for preliminary drafts or brainstorming. For generating outlines, rough paragraphs, paraphrasing, or reorganizing ideas (especially if English isn’t your first language), Jenni.ai can help accelerate the early phases of writing.

It is not an easy and intuitive AI to use. It probably requires more time to become familiar with it in order to obtain quality results. For a basic user like me, the learning curve was a complex task. Even so, customer service welcomed my comments and refunded my subscription.

Jenni AI uses deceptive business practices to auto-renew and will refuse a refund if you do not contact them within 7-days of noticing said error. Considering that the business does not send user notifications for renewals, receipts or invoices, beware providing them with your card details. Cancelling a subscription is difficult, so I would highly discourage other potential customers from sharing their billing information with this company, as they will charge you. Simple Google searches reveal that this is a common occurrence. I felt dismissed by their customer service team and will warn anyone from working with or subscribing to their service in the future. BEWARE.

I had apparently signed up when I did my PhD, but did not know what email I used! A payment went through that I didn’t expect and I wanted the service turned off. I sent an email to their support and within minutes, this person named Kate came to the rescue. She searched, found my wayward account, and processed my refund. Service like that is rare!!

Jenni.ai seems to have a great balance between authentic source generation and balanced support to my ideas in writing. It is evolving in the background, i have seen their beta version of being able to use docx and things like ability to refer back to older chats will really help. Overall as an AI assistant i am impressed.

helps with my research

Overall, I really love Jenni.ai and am working on improving my skills within. There is just a lot on the market right now related to research and AI, so I have enjoyed its ease of use. The customer service was excellent and fast, and luckily, I was able to cancel the annual plan within the 7-day window that I almost missed. If you are using it regularly, it is definitely worth it! I would recommend that the company extend the 7-day policy to 30 days to give customers time to review their billing and identify any missed discrepancies, especially with annual plans.

Helped a lot in my research writing. You just need to have proper prompts, proper overview of your paper, and proper usage of limitations for your ai chat editing. What I didn't like when AI chat suddenly stopped working on the last day that I am about to unsubscribe.

Jenni AI helped me a lot during my online class, as all the topics I needed were readily available, and I could choose the reference format I needed.
The staff were so helpful, especially Kate, who assisted me with my subscription issue. She was so accommodating and patiently settled my issue.
