We were actually lucky to find a really nice teacher on Lernigo. And initially the experience was positive. They called us on the phone even to check in and also helped with a glitch on the platform.

The problem is that it's a bait-and-switch thing. Very misleading and not transparent:

You can buy a few credits for around 64.26€ at first (9 credits = 90min), which includes a free 30-min intro lesson. Sounds reasonable.

Afterwards however, your minimum option is to buy 12 *lessons* (each 45 minutes), or 54 credits! That was almost 400€! You cannot just buy as many credits as you need.

But that's not where the greed ends. We also had 3 remaining credits (worth 30 minutes), but the system won't allow us to book a 30-min lesson! (Intro lessons are fine for 30 minutes, but not actual lessons? why?)

We contacted support, and then they basically ignored us for many days. The lesson we had scheduled with the tutor was obviously cancelled.

So overall, very disappointed. Feels scummy and misleading to lure people to get started, and then you're stuck with a draconian system that's aimed at extracting money from you.

Questionable business practices, if you go for a long term commitment then they promise you certain number of teaching hours but in reality they just allocate you credits against your payment. Now they reduce worth of their credits as per their wish which means that you do not get promised number of tutoring hours. Take short or long term, at the end its going to to be expensive on you.

Edit: Based on response from Lernigo on this review I want to highlight that in internal communication with them when I pointed on difference in hours from what is promised and what is offered they accepted that the difference is due to credit value change. So what they are writing publicly is not same as their internal practice.

Nicely organized and fully comprehensive. We found a very nice teacher for our son to support his German. Looking forward :)

The teacher is completely responsive to the needs of learning. In addition, he is very well prepared and my son feels very comfortable in the online lesson.

I was lucky to find LERNIGO (Germany) for private classes online for my daughter. We are super happy with the attention given. We have been offered guidance and asked kindly in several occasions if we needed any more assistance. Santi has been a fantastic help helping us u der stand how the system works and finding the right person to teach my daughter what she has needed. She is still having classes with Sammy Niklas, very kind and very well prepared young man. Thank you for your fantastic work! Keep up the great work!
