As merchants running multiple takeaway stores on Lieferando, our experience with the platform has been increasingly frustrating.
The merchant support and delivery portal are largely unresponsive. When issues arise, “support” often exists only to notify us after a refund has already been issued to the customer without any prior evaluation, investigation, or verification of the case with the restaurant.
We understand and respect the idea that customer satisfaction comes first. However, Lieferando seems to operate under the assumption that customer dissatisfaction is always the restaurant’s fault, which is simply not true. In many cases, problems are caused by delivery delays, rider issues, or system errors, these factors completely outside the restaurant’s control.
Despite this, Lieferando routinely refunds customers by cutting the restaurant’s payout, even when the restaurant has already produced the food correctly and on time. There is no case-by-case assessment, no fair dispute process, and no compensation for production costs. The priority appears to be pleasing the customer immediately, regardless of who is actually responsible.
If Lieferando wants to maintain long-term partnerships with restaurants, it needs to balance customer satisfaction with fair treatment of merchants. At the very least, when delivery-related issues occur, Lieferando should bear the reimbursement cost or compensate restaurants for their production expenses.
Right now, the system feels one-sided, dismissive of merchants, and unsustainable for restaurants trying to operate responsibly on the platform.

Ordered dinner with a 45-minute ETA. Lieferando suddenly changed delivery to tomorrow. Restaurant confirmed food was ready, but Lieferando failed to send a driver.
Chat support was a joke—only automated replies. Phones unanswered. Emails kept lying: “wait 45 minutes,” then “15 more minutes,” again and again.
Food arrived over an hour late, stone cold, and ruined. Lieferando blamed the tracker and took zero responsibility. No apology. No care.
This service is unreliable and dishonest. App deleted. Never ordering again.

There is no customer service. Only a bot, who tells you that you cannot cancel your order.
Today we ordered dinner and waited for 90 minutes. The bot didn't do anything. The restaurant said, it's Lieferando's courier, and they cannot do anything.
After 90 minutes, the order seemed to be "delievered" in their system. But we haven't received anything. We lost money and time because of this incompatible business.

I ordered dean and David and they did not deliver the order on time and it took over 2 hours .. when I called dean and David and told them that they should be transparent in the time they take for the order on Lieferando , they said if they did that it would be a problem between them and Lieferando… I do not know whose problem this is … but since I ordered via Lieferando and their vendors have a prob with being honest on time with Lieferando , I think I would rate Lieferando service dismissal for putting such vendors and having such dishonest relationships

Ordered Chinese food on Dec 31, 25! payed with a giftcard over 70€!! The oder was not recieved by the restaurant, but the money was gone!!! Sent a few complaints to Lieferando, no response so far!!!

At the moment, I am in a small but picturesque city and ordering online is something I would do from time to time. Fortunately, most of the food places on this APP are the ones I go in person. It would be helpful all food providers would implement realtime GPS delivery system that reflects reality. Otherwise, this service is awesome and I am currently pleased.

It's been over one hour since I placed my order and Lieferando says my order is not yet being prepared. I called the restaurant and they said they have already made and sent my order my way. I have no updates on Lieferando's website. I cannot know where the delivery person is with my order or if they are coming at all. I tried all possible ways to contact Lieferando and there is NO way I can speak to a human. The chatbot is useless and gives me no options. I am starving, waiting for my food which was ordered one hour and thirty minutes ago, I cannot ask for cancellation nor a refund, I have not received my food. This is the worst system for food delivery I have ever seen!

The website design is horrible. But, worst of all, they tell you the food will be with you in 20 minutes before you pay while, after you pay, the eta goes up to 55 minutes. This is a scam.

My order was marked as “delivered” in the app, but I never received it. The doorbell didn’t even ring, and I checked outside and at the building entrance – nothing. I received a refund for the food, but the tip and delivery fee were not refunded. Very frustrating.

I emailed you on both Info and partner. I also contacted via all your social media.
As a resturant owner we are not getting our money from two months. We contacted them but no reply. The people on calls were simply cluless.

I ordered food one Sunday evening. I did not receive my food, even though the website says it had been delivered. I understand some mistakes can happen, but there is no compensation for the fact that the food did not arrive. I lost my money. There is no call center, the only communication method is one broken AI that recommends irrelevant solutions. I do not recommend.

This must be the single worst app in all of history. First of all, if you're working with restaurants with independent couriers, the best you can do is give them the info of the ordering person ( phone number). I order for a meal at 5pm. It's now 9pm and no one has delivered my food. A stupid AI "customer care" keeps me in an unending loop and refuses to connect me to a human. And then it shows that my food was delivered meanwhile it was not. This is literally scamming. Give me my money back and fix your shitty AI.or put a human in the loop!!!
