I’m very frustrated with Luma Energy. For the past few years, I’ve experienced constant power outages, often lasting for hours at a time. This has damaged my electronics and disrupted my ability to work from home. When I tried to contact their customer service, the response was slow and unhelpful, leaving me without any clear answers. The lack of communication and reliability from Luma Energy is unacceptable. They seriously need to upgrade their infrastructure and improve customer support. I would not recommend Luma Energy to anyone looking for consistent and professional service.”
I have been without power for more than 24 hours without an explanation every time I contact Luma. Twice I received a call from a computer saying that my service was already restored. Probably to make favorable statistics by contacting the customer but in reality was false. Poor efficiency and empathy with customers.
I have been using Luma for about a month now and I love it! The WiFi reception is so much better all over my house. We have an older house and the walls weren't very receptive to the signals before. Now that I have Luma in 3 different spots in my house I have the speed and connectivity in every room! I love the small unobtrusive design. It fits in well with other decor around my house. The set up was very easy! I just downloaded the app and followed the simple directions of plug them in and let them do their thing. Can't get much better than that!!! I would definitely recommend Luma if you need your WiFi to go further.
Installed for less than 30 days and 1 has failed. I am calling it average because the system does work but I have to give it a 33% failure rate.
Easy set up and great support team
Cool looking router, I couldn't setting up the spot I wanted, maybe the AC1200 isn't strong enough for the size of my house? But easy to setting up if first one is set properly. I have to reboot couple times and have to call TEC support. Team sent me email couple times for follow up, that was great!
Have had the system up and running for approximately 10 days now. Setup was easy-15 to 20 minutes. After setup, all devices worked. Prior to setup I had issues with 2 Echo Dots that had significant streaming issues. Constant starting and stopping. After Luma install all issues went away. I had previously consulted my ISP provider, and had a service call that didn't help. I also called Amazon support, and the only thing that helped was moving my Dot 50% closer to my wireless router. That led me to believe that I needed more "horsepower" to run my network and to rid my 3500 sq ft. home of dead spots. I already had a wifi extender that did not work. After careful consideration of my options I decided to try the "mesh network" solution. Enter Luma-all my issues solved. I even had a power failure 2 days after install that left 2 of my 3 pods offline. I was able to redo setup without calling tech support. The only issue I have had is that my Luma App quit working temporarily due to a software update issue. Since it was after hours when this occured I had to email my concern. Luma responded by the the next AM, and I was up and running again. The signal has been rock solid throughout my home. I have speed tested the system, and I am getting all the speed that my ISP provider tells me is available in my area. Kudos, Luma for making a great product and having fabulous tech support. I truly appreciate the customer support-hard to find in this day and age!
Luma is an excellent router for novices. Very easy set up. Even my elderly mother could manage to set up the router. However, it does not allow a more advanced user the opportunity to assign bands to particular devices and this is a major drawback. Nearly returned it because some of my smart home products require the 2.4 GHz and don't function properly when they are forced to the 5 GHz band.
It says I'm getting 24 MB/s down but sometimes it seems awfully slow. The Highest reading I get from network inspector is a peak of 10 mb/s and that is a spike. Most of the time it is in the 10kb/s speed.
The Luma is easy to set up, and for the first time ever, I have consistent coverage throughout the house. The speed is excellent, and the downloadable app steps you right through the setup and security process. If you're looking for a plug and play system, this is as good as it gets.
Easy to install and great wifi strength. I have a 3 story townhouse and I never lose connection, it never gets interrupted and the signal stays just as strong as if I were standing right next to the router! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The system gives as advertised. Uniform cover throughout a 3000 sq ft. Condo using the three unit configuration. Full and equal signal in all areas. There are no dropouts . This system clearly shows mesh technology to be the way to go for home networking.
Had a few problems setting it up, turned out to be the "old" phone I was using to accomplish this. Tech support was fanatic. All my computers throughout the house run like they are connected at the modem. The fastest they have been since I bought them.
From the timely delivery to the speedy setup LUMA posed no significant hurdle. Once I read the instructions in a truly unmanly fashion, I was up and running in approximately 25 minutes. I now tend to forgot that they are even there except for the fact that dead zones in my house are gone.
Easy to set up, easy to use.
Support team has been exceptional!
Fast response time and offers solutions to support me.
Luma has been pretty good. Customer service was a little on the slow side compared to their response average but not that big of a deal. Product setup wasn't bad but I ran into a closed port issue with my modem that wouldn't allow the Luma AP's to get setup.
Overall, not bad and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. More and more features are being added and they're listening to customer requests.
Great coverage, had a outdoor wifi plugin from idevices and it reached it from the cottage to control the fencer for the cows. Awesome!
I love that the Luma gives me he same reception from each Luma as if it were right at the router. It sometimes goes down but will come back up in seconds.
The devices work exactly as intended, although I am having some DNS problems-I think that is with my ISP. My home is blanketed in great WiFi.
