Dishonest, theft, and where can this be reported to law?

When Toi Magazine could not deliver what they were paid for, they should have offered a refund. They couldn’t provide the in-place location that many had plane tickets for already, then took it to themselves to decide we would buy another ticket for a day we weren't even able to access the country borders… or were not even available to cater to their whims.

They made the excuse that the venue refused to let them refund after a month, but they did not use the venue on either year… so what place does that have in this decision?

They didn’t reply to most messages, especially those pointing out a refund request, despite solid points while fully polite.

Their event victimized a fragile community; many of whom are low income as it is. This was selfish and they spent that money before the eggs were hatched, and they can’t even be mildly apologetic and take some responsibility.

This wasn’t just wrong. Im certain it was against the law in buyers rights protection.

These f****rs stole $600+ from me

These f****rs stole $600+ from me. I purchased 2 VIP tickets to their "EntitleDID to Life" conference planned for September of 2020, but the event had to be cancelled because of covid.

I was understanding at first, and they did offer a digital conference, but they also said they planned to host a live event in 2021 and that 2020 tickets would be honored.

That event was also cancelled, and they are refusing to issue refunds to anyone. The VIP tickets I paid for included a dinner and meet and greet with the speakers, which cannot be substituted via an online virtual conference.

They didn't even offer anything extra for the VIP ticket holders regarding the virtual conference, either. Literally just took the money and went "Oh, whoops, covid I guess hehe".

If I could give 0 stars I would. I just want my god d*** money back.

Wish I could rate 0

Wish I could rate 0. We spent so much money on vip tickets to meet creators in person. The event was then cancelled but we weren't refunded. A total scam. Avoid at all costs.

Would give less if I could!

Would give less if I could. This ‘company’ took literally thousands of dollars from a community after canceling a big event and reinventing an incredibly smaller one by the same title. They claim to not have access to any of the money put into the conference and also heard a claim from Autumn that she couldn’t responsibly deal with giving refunds because of their ‘mental health’…. It’s a mental health conference, and you’re gonna take thousands of dollars from both mentally disabled people and mental health professionals and claim your mental health prevents you from giving anyone closure? Looking forward to sending all of this info to some other parties for future legal action… don’t bother, it’s a SCAM. I have no reason to write negative reviews until someone genuinely deserves it.

Disorganised, highly unprofessional + questionable moral compass

Toi Magazine has been planning an event called EntitleDID to life, aiming at providing education, destigmatization and sense of community for those living with dissociative disorders, in particular, dissociative identity disorder and other specified dissociative disorder.

The highest tier event tickets were for a 2 day conference event inclusive of a meet and greet of the speakers (psychologists/psychiatrists/advocates) and a gala dinner, all to be held at the Hyatt in San Franscisco. The cost of these tickets was $307pp. Due to COVID the event was moved online, not cancelled. Toi opened up its ticket sales again for new attendees that wanted to attend the zoom conference, selling for $38. In person attendees not offered refunds nor partial refunds, but instead were allowed for their tickets to be honored the following year (2021). So whilst in a pandemic, they confirmed 2021 event would go ahead, and that weekly-monthly communication would be sent in the meantime.

2 weeks before the event, the organiser finally emailed attendees to advise the event was online again. Ticket sales again opened for online tickets for new attendees. Toi is not however refunding the $307 minus the costs of the two e-conferences.

The event was not what was advertised, attendees are not entirely sure as to what Toi has spent the funds on, not to mention they had sponsors for the event to cover costs also. The editor of the magazine seemed to be handling this 200+ person event by herself with no team, which is highly unprofessional at best.

It was stated by the editor that the stress of organising the event lead her to needing a mental health break, as she is "only human", which is completely fine, except for nobody was managing the months worth of queries from attendees and speakers, as again, she seemed to be managing it on her own.

I would not recommend this business for these reasons. From this event, they come across as unprofessional, disorganised, and immoral
