customer service was HORRIBLE

I was excited with the product, a Noco Genius GB70 Boost HD Jumpstarter 2000A. I had ordered it some time ago but hadn´t had the need to use it because the car was starting fine. I still charged the item to the fullest but hadn´t had a chance to try.

So I charged it a few weeks ago and today came the day, I needed this item to start a Toyota Yaris 2021. To my surprise, following the instructions provided did not work. Neither jump starting nor charging helped. So I called road assistance. They brought their own device and it worked perfectly after 1 try.

So I reach out to customer service and wow, I can tell you, this is one of the worst customer service experiences I´ve EVER had. Long story short, the person answering to me was set on saying I did not know how to use the device, despite me explaining step by step everything I did. It actually was very childlish service, mediocre even. It left like I was talking with a person with the emotional maturity of a teenager.
If it was my company, I would not like to hire people like this to work in customer service. I will leave some exerpts from the exchange here:

customer service: If you use it correct etc it can start the car of course.

For how long did you charge it now ?

me: It has been charged for hours, until the indicator lights indicate it is full. This is not really a complicated matter, so please do not behave in such an arrogant way. You work in customer service, please be professional.

customer service:Is it full now ?
Me: Now, after I tried it on the car, it is no longer full. The indicator lights are around 2/3 full now. I have not recharged it after it failed to turn on the car since the guy in the tow car fixed the problem with his device.

customer service: Then you need to charge it of course, then it works fine

me: Why would I do that now that the car was fixed? I do not need to use this because the guy in the tow car used his superior device and it worked the first time. If I had the same problem with the car and wanted to use the device your employer sells, then I OF COURSE would have to charge it before using it. This is not the problem, but you seem to focus on this to dismiss my concerns. This is mediocre customer service. Please be advised I will be in contact with your company´s management to discuss your behavior. I will bring these emails as evidence.

customer service: I think you are way off here .. why not charge it ?? Because this is what you do after you use it, othervise it will not work of course.



Please do call the company

me:yea yea you are very clever, of course. Look, I can understand it is not fun to work in customer service. I can understand life is hard and you bring your own problems, whatever they are, to work and you take it out on the customers. IF you want to succeed at anything in life, you should not do that. Will they fire you for your behavior? I don´t know. I do know that if I was running a business and I had employees behaving the way you do, I would let them go. IT should not be an embarrassment to work in customer service, do your job well and work on your issues elsewhere. I hope you find the help you need.
