Refunded

I placed an order over a month ago.
sent an email after it hadn't arrived 2 weeks later.
Another 2 weeks on and I've still not had a reply nor received my order.
I've emailed again requesting a full refund.
After writting this review, I was emailed straight away with the explanation that they hadn't received my emails. You don't actually recieve a kit but an email (which in fairness I had missed) explaining where to send your sample
I was offered a refund which I will gladly take.

These tests are spot on

These tests are spot on. The last test just recently sorted out issues that were ongoing. As our body changes every 6 months I am having regular tests. All very helpful, and also advice given via email. Very happy.

Read this before spending £££

This is a scam to fool people into spending not an inconsiderable amount of money on a test which doesn't actually do what the website is designed to make you think its going to do. It also promises a money back guarantee, no questions asked.

As someone who suffers from uncomfortable bloating and gas daily, I have reactions to seemingly anything and everything so my diet can be quite restrictive, but I still suffer these symptoms. In an effort to learn more about the things making me react in this way, and reduce the symptoms I decided to give Intolerance lab a go.
My results came back after 4 days and I was given this list:
Horse Radish
Cinnamon
Tea
Cream
Nutmeg
Yeast
Oats
Blackberries
Hazelnuts
Honey
Rabbit
Milk from cows
Figs
Vinegar
Goats cheese
Feta
Gluten.
The results email explains that you should remove all these items from your diet for at least 4 weeks (that seems to be the minimum period before getting your money back which I doubt I'll be successful in)
I'm vegan, I don't eat gluten and none of the other items (except for cinnamon sometimes in baking) have any part of my diet. Not even rarely. So I was really disappointed that this test was not going to help me at all.
Once the results come back, the company spams you daily with emails asking if you got the results, resending the results, emails with ebooks, offers for more tests, family deals etc. Its quite tiresome. I did send an email back, stating I wasn't happy with the results, and feel I have been fooled into making this purchase, and I received this reply:

"I see you're a little confused.

Let me try and clear this up a little for you.

Our test does not work like a blood test. We are not checking your body against things you may have recently eaten.

Our testing process uses bio-resonance screening patterns to test your body against every one of our 700+ items to see how your body reacts to it.

If your sample has an adverse reaction to our test we advise that this could be a problem item for you.

I hope this has cleared it up"

So for anyone thinking about using this company in the hope of clearing up gut issues without lengthy trips to the doctor, maybe reconsider. Its probably not going to help you.

Unsuspected foods caused me issues

In the past year I was diagnosed with borderline coeliac disease aka gluten intolerance. Despite having modified and adjusted my diet to exclude wheat, oats, barley, maize, mustards, vinegar etc, I was still suffering digestive symptoms from time to time. Keen to understand what was wrong after 54 years of eating whatever I liked and struggling with the significant change of gluten free food options, I arranged a test with Intolerance Lab and posted off my information with a dozen hair folucals.
A couple of days later and the results came through, identifying foods that I am allergic or intolerant to. For example, I never suspected I was affected by Broccoli and Kale, among others!
In conclusion, Intolerance Labs easy to navigate report has/is helping me adjust my diet correctly by avoiding specific foods and additives. Within one week I have not been unwell and I am starting to feel better.
Highly recommended 5*

Good starting point

Very easy to send off a few hairs for testing. Results came back within a week. However I wonder how accurate the test is as I know of a few (non food) allergies that I have and they never appeared on my results (even although they are on their list of things to test). I would say it's a good starting point though

Bought a platinum package for £39 on Groupon. After years of issues (some I knew about) I thought I'd give it a go. Some of the items were spot on and others slightly more obscure. Started to adjust diet and already noticed some improvements.

Converted

Wow, I was really skeptical about spending just under £50 on an intolerance test. I thought I'd found my trigger foods but I was still bloated, sick and lethargic daily. I was surprised with my test results as many were fruit I'd been eating daily thinking it was healthy for me! Cutting out the trigger foods has helped my stomach to settle, I don't get cramps or bloating as much and I've only cut out 10 of the 20 foods the test said I'm intolerant to. The other 10 are more difficult as they're hidden in lots of foods. However with the results I have so far, I plan on making an effort with these soon. Great results and I've already recommended this service to others. Don't hesitate... results are quick and cutting out the major trigger foods can only have a positive effect on your health.

"No Scientific Basis Whatsoever"

Check the science before you buy! For example, read the BBC investigation into “Do home allergy and intolerance tests work?” (Trust Pilot won’t let you share links).

It says: “Some home tests for intolerance, like those for allergies, claim to be based on hair samples or ‘energy’. These have no scientific basis whatsoever.
“Having a positive IgG result to certain foods does not indicate that you have an ‘intolerance’ to those foods.
“The advice from expert groups around the world is that IgG tests should not be used as an attempt to diagnose an intolerance.”

They did agree to give me a refund so I've upped it to two stars.

Helped steer in the right direction

Having already identified a few potential issues, took the test to try and hone in the finer points. Results came back very quickly and while I was a little off the mark, the extra info supplied made a lot of difference. Now trying to make the necessary adjustments to make life more comfortable.
This does does not identify allergies, but is certainly a good foundation to start you on the trail for identifying the niggles you may have, both with food and the wider environs.
A great service.

Avoid

Having purchased this test, I sent my sample back to the complany on August 2nd. Despite numerous emails asking for an update on progress, I have had zero correspondence back from them, even to advise if they have received my email or sample, let alone when I can expect test results. Very disappointing.

I was skeptical at first

I was skeptical at first, could a few strands of my hair really solve the mystery of my diet problems and bloated stomach? Wow was I surprised! The process was so simple and swift, within 3 days I received a detailed report highlighting several intolerances I had no clue about.
Since adjusting my diet based on intolerancelabs recommendations, I feel alot better, less bloated but also more energetic and focused throughout the day. My skin has also never looked better.
For anyone on the fence about taking a test, don't hesitate. Intolerancelab has been an absolute game changer for me.
