No transparency on renewal prices...
I wanted to take out boiler cover with servicing included for my elderly mother.
I used the chat service to ask whether the monthly price would remain roughly the same on renewal after 12 months if no claims were made, or whether it would increase significantly over time — as is often the case with these types of policies.
I was concerned by the lack of transparency, as they were unable to give a clear indication of whether the price would stay similar or rise dramatically, stating that this would be dealt with by the retention team at renewal.
"As I am in the Sales Department, I don’t have visibility on whether the price will remain the same or be increased. I wanted to clarify that I am unable to confirm renewal prices, as these are handled by our Retentions team. "
This did not give me confidence, that the increase price would be fair on renewal and as a result, I will not be taking out cover with them.
