Zen are by far the best ISP and have great customer service and very reasonable prices. Their recent partnership with Trooli has allowed us to upgrade to full fibre (in an area with no Openreach fibre... See more

Called Zen along with a number of other companies at the end of last year looking for new internet, I run my own router & network hardware and have some fairly specific requirements.
Zen were the only company who even seemed to understand my queries. The first call saw every question I had resolved. In 15+ years dealing with commercial technical support companies - I've never had such a smooth process for getting answers.
I cannot overstate how surprising it was to speak to somebody who so clearly understood networking. Matt you're a champion, and you should get a raise sir! (I'm sorry it's taken me so long to order, I've been busy!)
Excellent service, and great assistance from Matt Gaughran
I used to get great speed and good coverage with Zen but for the last 3 months it’s been awful. I spoke with one of your representatives on the phone yesterday and he talk me through reinstating factory settings. Whilst it made a difference initially today it’s no better than it was before the reset. I’m not able to get a connection when I’m in the kitchen (no more than 7 metres away from the router ). I’m really frustrated with it. I had a much better coverage with my previous supplier.
I have a garden office which used to be connected with too. It’s approximately 20 metres from the router but now I don’t have any WiFi coverage. I’m really disappointed with Zen.
Horrible horrible experience w ith these thieves.
Started with installation scheduled and engineer arrived in afternoon when it was scheduled for morning. Then tried to change me for second cal out.
Installed Internet which doesn't work. Refusing to cancel contract although Internet only works when you either plug in directly or use WiFi within 2 metres of the router.
They disconnected my other landline which i specifically requested not to and they confirmed it will not be touched.
Awesome service, communication and network. Would recommend to anyone way over Sky and the rest of the usual suspects.
Changed to Zen last month from BT, switch was seamless and easy, great customer service and I have been very happy with my decision to change. I haven't experienced any problems to date and my broadband speed has been good. I can definitely recommend Zen if anyone is considering a switch.
Good solid broadband steam that rarely drops. Although did the usual sneaky price increase when the contract expired.
That can contact the technical department if you have any problems and if you have any issues they are sorted very swiftly!
One of the best connections I have ever had!
I was astounded by the ease of switching to Zen one hundred per cent thanks to Mohammed who personally took care of the transfer, even ringing me back! such a difference. It was also helpful that he was patient and spoke clearly. This company is human and caring as well as being efficient. It felt that someone is responsible out there.
Our problem was quickly resolved with excellent support from Samal and Josh. Great customer service.

From easy access to a real person, who explained how the install process would work. The process worked well and as described.
I was attracted to the Which recommendation and that the intial contract period would not include any increases.
I have had no issues, been updated with a regular online magazine.

The customer service is stand alone excellent.

I was in the process of renewing my broadband connection. Normally this can be a stressful time and I had quite a few queries which were professionally and diplomatically handled. Alternatives were explored, explained and we reached a very satisfactory conclusion to the overall process. I am very grateful.

I run and experiment with my own email and web servers. To improve delivery of email I sent a set of requests for my IPv6 server addresses to be set up with RDNS. A day or two later it was all set up. Brilliant customer support.
Service reliability continues to be 5*. I'm not aware of it ever going down.

Matt was very helpful after I had made a slip up on the online application.
He took over and explained everything clearly and got me signed up within 10 minutes.
Easy peasy and no long waiting queues playing green sleeves!

Zen personel very friendly and helpful. The only complaint - if I'm correct in this, is that previous free phone calls (0800 etc.) and even calls to Zen themselves for technical help, all count to my contracted 1000 minutes limit. I feel very, very disappointed by this, and will take into consideration come renewal time, particularly if I ever go over my limit and I'm charged for 'free' calls. OK, but please confirm here and now, for ALL to see, that all customers will end up paying for 0800, 0345, and calls to Zen, once they exceed the 1000 minutes

Second time back with Zen, ditched them previously over the price, but here I am back again :)
In the interest of fairness, I'll use my usual review template...
Installation: No issues.
Customer Service: Never had any issues, both in my previous contact/contract with Zen, and with the current contract. The one time I have needed to call them, the issue was resolved quickly. I can understand why they keep receiving the Which awards.
Broadband/fibre during contract: No issues. Advertised speed was met, and at the same time I was impressed with their low latency (great for online gaming). I was also given a static IP by default (most providers charge extra for this).
Note: Zen fibre is physically provided (at least in the Leeds area) by CityFibre, not Zen directly (they're a reseller), so do some reviews of CityFibre (or other resellers) in your own area to understand what the installation is like there.
In-contract price rises: None. (Unlike all the usual/main "big" providers.)
End of contract experience: First time I ditched Zen was only due to the price (I could get a better switching deal elsewhere), and I remember having no issues at all (they wouldn't match, and no issue facilitating the move). No ongoing sales calls, no nonsense, etc. Whether that's now changed I cannot say, I'm back and still with them.
My advice - for me they feel like a safe pair of hands, not necessarily the cheapest, but a good product with low latency and static IP (for gamers I cannot stress this enough), a fair deal, and none of the nonsense you get from the big providers.
