A great experience from start to finish. The price of the items was competitive, stock was shown accurately on their website and placing the order was straightforward. Emails arrived at each stage of the order process, and Metro Fixings used DPD for the order which meant I knew exactly when it would arrive, and of course it arrived when expected, well packed and complete. Can't ask for more than that!

It's hard to review a prize draw operator, unless of course you win! However, Omaze does have great prizes and good communication, and I guess it is exciting to find out who wins the house each month. It feels good to be donating to charity too of course. Won a couple of small (£10) prizes too, which can be reinvested in entries for the big prizes, or spent at places like Pizza Express (which I did). All very fun and enjoyable anyway... and who knows, one day maybe I will win the house.. In the meantime, I'm contributing to charity so it's a win-win whatever :)

I've had a Mailerlite account for over 5 years, which was steadily collecting subscribers from a widget on our website. They've recently updated their system and sent a couple of emails asking users to migrate. Unfortunately, it wasn't terribly clear how to go about it and, given that the worst-case scenario was that it would be 'disabled' (their word) I gave up and decided to do it later. Wind forward to today and I logged on to find the account still needed migration. I contacted support for help but was told the account (and all our subscribers) had been completely deleted with no way back! This came as a surprise because their own migration page states that accounts will continue on their 'classic' system unless migrated and that free accounts would only be deleted after 90 days with no activity... we were still collecting subscribers only a month ago. I asked if they could restore the account... apparently not.... so I asked if they keep backups. I had to ask three times before I got a straight answer from Aleksandra in support. They do back up their systems, but our data has been deleted. So... I have learnt the hard way (and I do take full responsibility for this) - Mailerlite cannot be relied upon to take good care of your data and if you're going to use them you really MUST log in regularly and download your subscriber lists. Otherwise, miss an email (amongst a sea of their daily notifications) and you may very well find your mailing list is just gone, with no way to recover it.
The reason for the one star is not just the deletion (I know it was partly my fault for failing to take action) but rather the fact that there was no way to recover anything - their customer support adviser was entirely unhelpful, and apparently they don't keep backups stretching back even six months. Companies that handle other people's data owe them a duty of care, and I think basic data governance dictates that there should always be backups available.

A great piece of software. We had a USB that was corrupted and the Mac wouldn't even read it or show it on the list of attached drives. So after a few minutes looking at different products I settled on Recoverit (because it works on the Mac and looked the most professional) and downloaded. It was able to scan the knackered drive and found all the files that were lost - as well as a bunch that had been previously deleted. Of course the folder structure was gone - that is to be expected - but all the files were there. Once I could see the list of recoverable files, I paid for a perpetual license (its not much more than a month or a year) so if anything like that happens again I can sort it. The files were all recovered to a folder on my computer within about 15 minutes. Gave my daughter a lecture about backing stuff up and not storing important files on a USB key! My advice - just spend the $90 and do it - it works.

Chris arrived when expected and dealt with our wasp's nest quickly and professionally. He was well-equipped, and came with a tool that allowed him to reach all the way over our glass veranda and right up into the eaves of the house to deal with the nest that was inside our soffit. It was reassuring to see him wearing a full protective suit and he took care to let our neighbours know they needed to close their windows and doors briefly while the wasps were excited. The whole process was completed without any fuss and I won't hesitate to use Surrey Hills Wasp Control in the future should we have any other pests. Highly recommended.

Went through the process to apply for the UKI Smart Grant, which was very valuable - their platform leads you through every stage of defining your proposal, with a very disciplined approach to demonstrating its value and potential by giving short, simple answers to a range of questions. Support is available promptly - you just send an email and they quickly schedule a Zoom call to talk through whatever you need, with specialists that seem to know the requirements very well. While working through the questions, we ultimately discovered that our project wasn't suitable for the funding for reasons we didn't foresee - and so after a quick conversation, they're refunding us without any quibbles at all - can't say fairer than that (we were within their 14-day money-back guarantee period). We are now going to apply all the extra knowledge we've gained to assessing future projects so that we can be ahead of the questions when it comes to making applications in the future... which will certainly be through Grantify. A really positive experience overall.

We only over buy Tiger's Elite sheds, because they use good quality treated timber, and decent size structural pieces which make a very sturdy shed. We've supplied them to a number of our customers and we've never had a problem with any of them. They always turn up when scheduled too, so we have them delivered directly to site and they are very quick to assemble. Well worth the extra money!

We use CEF preferentially as our main electrical wholesaler. They generally keep stuff in stock, the website is very good, showing stock at each trade counter, and the staff are always well-informed and courteous. Can’t hesitate to recommend them.

Ordered two levels on the website and they arrived, well packed, on time (the next working day) - perfect. So far every order I’ve placed with D&M Tools has been handled flawlessly, so I use them in preference to anywhere else now.

Setting aside the marketing (which some have rightly called 'cringe') I'm afraid I just can't bring myself to love the basic recycled toilet paper product. It DID arrive on time and in a decent box. However it’s quite a weak paper compared to most and does disintegrate to an annoying extent. Having spoken to customer service, it turns out that some of the rolls may have been substandard due to a manufacturing problem and we were offered a refund - can’t say fairer than that.
I do hate the paper wraps. They are pointless and wasteful - I don't care how recyclable/compostable/vegetable-based they are. We have tried several brands of 'eco' toilet paper and this is not unique to WGAC... but they are absolutely NOT required to ship the product in good condition (everyone else manages it!). Furthermore, the 'fun', 'bright' designs on them are horrible... they seem fun in principle but when you've got three different rolls stacked one on top of the other, it just looks like a mess... Why couldn't they have come up with something vaguely tasteful, or at least subtle? To top it off, they print a terrible pun on each one.... more cringe marketing.
We’ve since tried their bamboo ‘Premium’ paper which is much better and is comparable to most of the well-known supermarket brands - and the paper wraps, though still present, are in MUCH classier colours!

Was kept informed throughout the process - as I ordered a product with a long lead time - and it arrived exactly when we expected, well-packaged and in perfect order. Will use Just Radiators again!

Top service and quick delivery as always (this was our 3rd order). I was phoned after placing the order online to confirm details (always reassuring) and received plenty of information as the order progressed. The gentleman who delivered the order arrived first thing (thank you) and carried the packs of flooring to the house carefully. No damage in transit and a beautiful Karndean floor!

When I arrived it was all waiting for me, and the chaps took the time to explain the warranty registration for the main tool I was buying.
