The items are often incorrectly described (e.g. many Montblanc fountain pens are described as ‘Meisterstück’ when they are not). This is either due to sloppiness on the part of the experts when reviewing the seller's description or a lack of expertise on the part of the experts. Either way, it is annoying misinformation that, in case of doubt, is to the detriment of the buyer.
I have also often bought watches at auction that did not work.
