Terrible Customer Service
Contract is up, so that dreaded phone call is needed. I've been on hold for 40 minutes so far. Got a chat open on the website waiting too. That one started off as a 62 minutes estimated wait and has now increased to 72 minutes estimated wait in the last 20 minutes. "Lines are busier than usual at the moment".
They want to up my price from 28.83 (already increased from the start of the contract) to 57.24. nearly £30. They've given no warning whatsoever that my contract is almost up, so they would've happily let me go on to the out-of-contract price if it weren't for the April price rise.
Then when you do endure the hours long wait, they try to sell you the same package you've got for significantly more. That's not exclusive to VM, of course, broadband companies are parasites.
Cancelling should be as easy as setting it up. There should be no mid-contract price rise. I shouldn't need to spend the day waiting for them to pick up the phone.
If you live in an area like me, then VM are pretty much the only company to offer FTTP, so we're stuck wiht them unless we want snails paced internet. I hate this so much. There is very little that I actually hate in this world but Virgin is on that list. Avoid if you can.
