And the most shocking of shockers that my Rookanis girlie got slow burn as her tag. I’m the most shocked, guys. (Okay but for realsies thought, “loyal, organised and patient”? Fits Sancha SO well. QUIZZES KEEP PERCEIVING HER LIKE THAT IT’S GENUINELY INSANE.)

I may or may not have cackled. (It’s fine, he’s trying his best. Being raised in the Crows does things to a person.ALSO former watch dog getting a response that says they weren’t socialized as a pup makes me feel some kinda way, and I kinda feel like they’re being perceived and I don’t like that EITHER quizzes STOPPPPPPPP)

Rook & I: How similar are you and your Rook?

How did you pick your Rook’s name?

So, before even before the surnames were reveled, I went on Behind the Name (my absolute favorite name site, 10 outta 10 highly recommend) and looked through Italian, Spanish and Portuguese names and I literally made a list of possible names I’d wanted to use for my Crow Rook and her brother (I had already decided that my Crow and my Lord of Fortune Rook would be siblings and exist together). Then, I went through my lists and really liked the names Sancha and Alegría and decided they sounded really pretty together. XD Then the different surnames were announced and I finalized her name from there.
(Fun fact, she was originally gonna go by her middle name, the Talon before Viago thought it was so much more prettier, but I couldn’t really copy-paste Alegría so that was bust lol. But it still worked out, Alegría to the Crows, Rook to everyone else, Sancha to family and close friends <3)

Is your Rook older or younger than you, or a similar age?

Sancha’s 4 years younger! She’s 28 and I’m 32 :3
(Fun fact! Sanchina was going to originally be 22/23 during Veilguard. Then I thought about it a bit and that felt a bit young, so I aged her and her brother up a bit XD Their timeline makes a lot more sense now because of it!)

Any physical traits you share with Rook?

We both have black hair and brown eyes, though hers are more orange-y and mine are a darker browner brown. What’s funny is that I’d only recently started making my characters with brown eyes and I almost never made characters with black hair, since I thought they were “boring”.
We’re both curvy, though Sancha’s definitely bigger in the butt and hips department. X3

Any personality traits you share with Rook?

We’re both kind, funny, witty (not to toot my own horn). We’re both very protective of our family and friends.
We both also both have self worth issues…so yaaaaay. (Sancha I’m so sorry it just kinda happeend. I didn’t know the scars comment was gonna hit so hard! 😭)

Any personal abilities/mannerisms/habits/hobbies you passed onto Rook?

So first off I’m pretty sure accidentally put her on the spectrum so, uh, yeah. We’re there together I guess. XD We’re also both a-spec, though she’s under the aromantic umbrella (greyreomantic) and I’m under the asexual (demisexual).
We’re both into fiber arts, I’m an on-again-off-again cross stitcher and she embroiders.
We both love reading. She reads pretty much anything with a preference to romance, and I tend towards historical fiction. We also both write things down and take a lot of notes (though she’s the smart one who uses a notebook, I have a stack of papers on my desk that I write things down on XD)

Where do you and Rook differ the most?

Sancha’s very flirty and down to have a good time, while my demisexual ass literally used to google how to flirt (because what even is flirting) and, well, *points at demisexual* not really down to clown. She’s also a beast at card games and the most I do is kinda collect them (the amount of virtual card games I used to won just because the art was pretty).
She’s an assassin and poisoner trained by Viago. Also a mage. I am none of those things. Hell, I can barely squish a bug, I could never be a real Crow lol
Sancha’s also pocket sized™️ and I tend to be one of the tallest afab people in a given place (Sancha’s 5’-5'2"-ish, I’m 5'7"/5'8"* (I’m somehow taller than my manager who’s also 5'7" so…that’s exciting))

What trait/ability does Rook have that you wish you did?

I always say that I would fight for my family, and I am super protective of my trainees at work, but I definitely wish I was as brave as her. Hello, yelling at a dragon at D'meta’s Crossing? I could never.

And the fact that she’s so decisive and so quick thinking. Granted, she does pay for her spur of the moment decisions from time to time, but I way overthink things. I tend to talk myself out of decisions or push them back so often. Sancha decides something, makes up her mind so fast, and acts.

In a situation where you existed in Thedas, would your Rook be friends with you? Or alternatively, if your Rook was your roommate, could you live with them?

So, technically, I think we could be good roommates. We could take turns cooking and we’d probably keep to our own spaces. And after she does let her walls down, not just surface level pleasantness, we would probably be friends! The fact that she suffers from nightmares would be the rough spot. Being woken up in the middle of the night by someone screaming and crying in the other room is pretty scary.

If you could give one piece of advice to your Rook, what would you say?

Take it from me, your brain is lying to you. You are better than you think you are, people genuinely love you and want to be around you. 💜

Ta-da! The games are sorta-kinda in order, at least the first two rows. Fun fact, I absolutely love puzzle games and visual novels! <3 I haven’t played them much lately, but they’re my favorite genres. I usually tend to opt for cozy games, rpgs, and games with tons of lore and choices. My game tastes are the same as my music tastes honestly, hella varied but I like what I like <3
