RHINELANDER KOHL’S: CORPORATE GREED, CHAOS AT CHECKOUT—ONLY BOB DELIVERED

THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE KOHL’S STORE IN RHINELANDER, WI.
I walked into a CHECKOUT DISASTER: 20+ PEOPLE IN LINE, ONLY TWO CHECKERS WORKING. I had a hard deadline to pick up my husband. A customer ahead turned to me and said, “You’re going to wait awhile—been here 20 minutes already.” My response? “THANKS—THAT’S NOT GONNA HAPPEN.” And it didn’t.
I EXPLODED—LOUDLY—ON A MANAGER OR HIGHER-UP standing near the line. Four excuses came flying, but after my outburst, SIX CHECKERS SUDDENLY APPEARED, including the manager. No one else in line said a word. No one left. But the staffing issue was clearly fixable—and wasn’t being addressed until someone raised hell.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN THE 1% AND CORPORATE CEOS STUFF THEIR POCKETS WHILE STORES RUN ON SKELETON CREWS. Customers are treated like cattle, and frontline workers are left to absorb the fallout.
Now for the one bright spot: I was assigned to BOB, a BOOMER CHECKER WHO WAS ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Calm, efficient, professional—ONE OF THE BEST I’VE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN RETAIL.
BOB DESERVES A RAISE AND A PROMOTION. He handled the chaos with grace and competence, and Kohl’s is lucky to have him.
FIX YOUR STAFFING, KOHL’S. And protect employees like Bob who actually do the job right.

Worst customer service i've ever seen

I bought 2 of the same thing. Literally, I picked one thing and changed the quantity to 2. I receive my order confirmation via email, and they are sending me 2 different things. How does that even happen? I tried to fix their error, but it's absolutely impossible to modify an order or talk to anyone. They claim to have the best return policy. Except i have to go to the store which is well over an hour away, or i can mail it back and they wont refund shipping.

This company is a mess on the logistics…

This company is a mess on the logistics side. They can't tell you where a package is or where it shipped out. I ordered a winter jacket and it never arrived. I was told I would have to wait 30 days for a refund. The jacket never actually existed in inventory but they sold it anyway. Would be a shame if someone tried on a jacket in a store and there was a wad of dookie in the sleeve. They are so full of it I wouldn’t be surprised for a second.

DISGUSTED

I placed two order with Kohls over the last two weeks. The orders come with separate tracking for each item and come at all different times and days. Just placed an order this morning and it reflected pickup at the store and shipping as well. Part of the order was cancelled by their system for some unknown reason. Representatives are not from this country and every answer is unexplainable. I have had enough -- they can keep their rewards, their Kohls cash and run this company right into the ground !!

I ordered earrings with FREE SHIPPING…

I ordered earrings with FREE SHIPPING arriving next day.
No earrings next day, so I checked my order. I WAS CHARGED $9 SHIPPING!!!! and four days later I don't have the earrings. Kohls, I spent over $400 this week and will be returning everything and eating your shipping charges.

Kohl's Live Chat gives False Info

I had several gift cards but was not signed into their program I was considering it and went online to chat trying to find out more about it. One of the concerns I had was if I went to the store now and wanted that purchase to be counted could I join after the purchase that day and get credit for that purchase Even told me they had a special program to get those points added. So I went, purchased $70 of merchandise, went home, got online to join, only to be told I would NOT get credit I had cut and copied the entire chat saying how it would be Of course the answer was no. They did tell me I could return everything and then repurchase it. But the coupons expired that day and the store was closing soon. So don't believe it if they tell you something. Another time I found an item listed on their kohls.com site which was reduced. It said available in store. I showed them the ad They hemmed and hawed about it saying it was not for in store, but I held my ground and insisted. They finally gave me the price. I noticed the next day the item was removed from the online listing. I got a birthday offer, $5 off purchase, and not wanting to go through what I went through previously in the store, decided to order online I found an item and ordered it for in store. It took about 2 weeks to get it When I went to pick it up, it was in a very insecure area that anyone could access. Fortunately my item was there and I was able to get it without a problem. But I don't have any desire to shop at Kohls.

Kohls = stupid games win non returning biz

made an order (thermal socks) where they were offering a discount - and then a week later they say they could not deliver so they sent it back to seller = they had my right street address but a different city and state = and to me it seems like they would do this so they don't have to make good on the discounts = first the bait discount and then the "if you order in the next hour" discount = I have found this same item on other vendors sites but without the within the hour deal = so I think they do this on purpose get you in the door and then pull the rug out = I talked to an agent and they say they will refund but give it a few days which means they have had my money for one week = what did they do with my money for week? what interest did they make = seems to me if they do this a thousand times to a thousand people that is a lot of interest generated from other peoples money = in future as sad as it is I will just go to Walmart and buy off the rack = here I try to give Kohls a little business and I even had another order ready to go but waited to see how the first one went and I got my answer = you think kohls why would I read trust pilot first = but once again corporate America no longer cares about the customer and the managers all get their bonuses = all your thoughts of a well run company are belong to us.

Horrible customer service by a manager

I shopped and was hoping to use my Kohl's cash for my purchase. When the associate scanned my coupon it came up zero or no value. I expressed that I had not use it yet. A manager walked over, who was extremely rude and said, " you must have or someone in your family did." I responded and stated I have not been in to shop but had returned something. She then abruptly said, " well then it zeroed out, you should know that." I didn't know since I received it in the mail. So I am like O.K. and then right after that exchange while I am still in the middle of my transaction, she proceeds to reprimand the associate for a previous return that had some issues. It was embarrassing to the associate and uncomfortable for me. I worked in retail for over 15 yrs and this would have not unacceptable, but probably a wright up for the manager. I love Kohl's but this is happening more and more and making me less opt to shop there.

Not Much Customer Service

I placed an order for 2 items 1/19/26. Both shipped via UPS separately. I received an empty envelop today which supposedly contained one item. Called customer support at Kohl's. Was told I have to wait til I receive the other item before they can help me.

Went to return 2 tops that didn't fit

Went to return 2 tops that didn't fit. When I looked at my return receipt they took off kohls cash that I did not have for that order. When I called to tell them that my previous order did not qualify or have any kohls cash they told me that the order that I placed and that the tops were in was eligible for kohls cash for that order which could be applied to future orders. So here is my beef when I returned my tops they said they were taking off the kohls cash I earned from the order for the tops that were to be used for future orders. I don't get that I never had the kohls cash for my order when I placed it for my tops so they should not have taken anything off it was earned on that order for FUTURE ORDERS SO BASICALLY THEY TRY TO SCREW YOU WHEN YOU RETURN ITEMS. Also when you call they won't let you talk with a supervisor. I ask for a call back and we will see if that happens. I don't expect it to happen but we will see. If this doesn't get resolved I will be cutting up my kohls card and shopping at Walmart and Amazon they are cheaper anyways. Kohls items are higher priced and coupons or kohls cash doesn't bring the price down enough to compete with the competition .

This was hands down the worst shopping…

This was hands down the worst shopping experience of my life.

I attempted to purchase a Cuisinart Custom Grind & Brew single-cup coffee maker online because it was not available in any store. The purchase was about $200, placed on a Kohl’s charge card with over $2,000 in available credit, so payment was never an issue.

What followed was three weeks of chaos:

My first order sat for nearly two weeks, then was canceled without any notice.

I placed a second order — canceled the next day.

A third order — canceled again.

I then called customer service, and a representative placed the order for me and assured me it was resolved — also canceled.

This happened a total of SIX times over roughly three weeks.

I spoke with multiple supervisors, including Josh, Sara, Bruno, Wendy, and Glenda. Every single one apologized, assured me the issue was fixed, and confidently told me the order would go through. Every single time, it was canceled anyway.

At no point was I given a clear explanation. If this item cannot be fulfilled, why is it being sold online at all? And why are cancellations happening without notification?

This wasn’t a glitch — it was a systemic failure across inventory, e-commerce, and customer service. Hours of my time were wasted, and trust in the brand is gone.

I will never attempt to purchase a high-value item from Kohl’s online again.

This company sold our information to Capital One, I have never been able to register online because of an old phone #, thus making it a pain in the ass to make a payment, I will NEVER step foot in that store again!

WORST ONLINE ORDERING EXPERIENCE EVER!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! Two things. 1) Regret I did not look at TrustPilot BEFORE ordering from KOHL’s! 2) CLEARLY KOHL’s DOES NOT CARE by the number of reviews & ratings!! I’m reporting them to BetterBusinessBureau & Consumer Protection Agency. They handled a simple order of FOUR items deplorably! Just terrible. Divided into THREE friggin’ parts! One went to a place & store for PICK UP in CALIFORNIA! I’ve never heard of & DO NOT even live in that state!!
The fact that TWO of the four were shipped to CORRECT address- the pick up for one item was in the correct city & state- & those ALL MATCH my credit card information seemed to miss all logic of picking up any part of my order in a city I’ve never heard of!?!? TERRIBLE!!
Their WEBSITE has ISSUES!! No matter how many times I tried to change my location on the site it changed back to someplace in California I don’t know!! THAT is also where part of my order went!! Really KOHL’s you have to be aware of your technical issues!! It’s COSTING YOU CUSTOMERS & MONEY!! How idiotic is that??

Don't trust their Promotions

Back in Sept around the 18th I was visiting a sick aunt for the day no clothes or anything 6 hour drive she passed while there, I went to Kohls purchased a couple new outfits for the stay and the funeral. Went to Saphora got some makeup and the clerk was telling about the spend 95 on the samples perfume get a big one free so I purchased it. Went home used the samples went to purchase "My free one" and the coupon had it expired on Sept 5 - 14 days Before I purchased it. Today I reached out to customer service and was told they cannot help I have to Drive 6 hours back to the original store!!! Are you Serious I have been a loyal customer is Kohls for many years and do believe I will be canceling my card.
