Wickes Kitchen furniture experience.

I was very impressed with Tahir Younes, the designer at Wickes (Wimbledon branch) who designed my kitchen. On request, Tahir came immediately to my home and measured up my kitchen. He consulted me on what I wanted done in my kitchen before he went away to design it. Within a couple of days he had my design ready for me to peruse. We made some changes and then I ordered my items in a week.
I am very impressed with Wickes professionalism and customer service I experienced, as well as their delivery service. Wickes delivered on the date they advised. I ordered more items to my initial order and Wickes delivered these in a week.
The quality of Wickes kitchen exceeded my expectation and I can't believe how fantastic my kitchen is looking. This is due to the careful planning, exceptional designing and dedication Tahir Younes ensured, in dealing with my kitchen. I keep pinching myself to believe this is my kitchen for real. It looks like a kitchen in a showroom.

You will also need a good fitter/builder to install your kitchen to create the show room kitchen effect as well. My builder is still doing more finishing touches to make it look sensational.

Great customer service from Neve :-)

5 star service from Karen in Bishop’s Stortford store

Big shoutout to Karen in the Bishop’s Stortford store. I couldn’t find the items I was looking for and Karen quickly offered her help. She checked that the items were in stock but not on display but said that, due to a recent delivery, it may be difficult to access them in the warehouse. She checked where they were and then arranged for a colleague to get them off high shelving with the forklift. She then went through a large box of assorted products and found the items for me. And all with a cheerful, can do attitude throughout. Thank you Karen!

Constant delays and lies

After ordering our kitchen on 9th September 2025, we were promised it would be completed before Christmas, which was particularly important as my wife and I are expecting our first baby, so wanted the “nest” ready. However, 156 days later (over five months), the installation is still not complete.

At the point of sale, we were assured this would be a straightforward 2–3 week job. In reality, the process has been anything but simple, largely due to repeated delays, incorrect parts being ordered and ongoing issues from Wickes.

We were even left in a position where we would have had no functioning tap over the Christmas period, having already been without one since 14 November because the fitter was unsure how to install it. As a result, we had to pay £200 for an emergency plumber and forgo our warranty on that unit due to their inefficiency. Unfortunately, we were unable to obtain a receipt, so we don’t think this cost will be reimbursed, despite asking and despite already having paid £8,127 in installation fees. With this in mind, when purchasing a kitchen be mindful about the accuracy of the specialist works quote, which in our case increased from £1,502 to £4,252.

It is extremely disappointing that, while payments were taken promptly, delivery and completion have fallen significantly short of what was promised. The lack of urgency and consideration for the impact on customers, particularly those in challenging personal circumstances, has been frustrating.

I do feel sympathy for the complaints team, who appear overwhelmed, which suggests one thing, it isn’t just me in this boat.

In summary, our experience has left us with little confidence in the pricing, timelines, and assurances provided. I would highly avoid if there is another option on the table!

Watford is the most tidy Wickes store…

Watford is the most tidy Wickes store in the area. It makes my shopping so much easy and enjoyable.
The staff are very attentive and helpful. I was served by Sara today and she always goes the extra mile to help.

Kitchen Installation - Severally lacking in project management

After deciding to upgrade our kitchen, and the due necessary research, along with favourable reviews from friends and family experiences, we commissioned a Wickes Integra kitchen.
Joe at Huddersfield - helpful, amenable and knowledgeable. - Actually cannot fault the guy.
The challenges started on commencement of the project, or the lack of proper project management, or understanding of our needs as a customer.
Little consideration was given to how the logistics of having everything for a 15m2 kitchen (or half of a ground floor of a modest semi-detached) would work, the en-mass delivery of every item resulted in everything being excessively moved around all the time by the fitters. Which did result in time wasted, items being damaged during the process. This put the fitters under further pressure in trying to achieve the schedule which was allocated to them by Wickes, or the project scope / funding etc.
I think our fitter (who I will remain nameless as we had a contract with Wickes not him), felt the pressure and the performance of installation and delegation to under skilled team members resulted in more issues, with damage to product.
At no point during the fitting did we know who the project manager was from Wickes. My partner was working from home (2/3 days a week) so if any such individual did visit our house we were not aware. Thus any quality assurance and accountability were very minimal.
On the day which the bulk of the install was finishing we got an email from Wickes talking about the start of the installation, over a month after the delivery of all the items.
The mess during the installation was beyond belief, I found a comment by Paul - store manager at Huddersfield about their Proud to fit ethos a little bit rich when it took me over 4 hours to clean the mess of saw swarf from under our car port, and was also caped up the exterior walls. The hippo waste bags were overflowing by the end, which resulted in waste all over the front garden.
We are now three and half months in to back and forth with the post installation customer services, which has been painful. Lack of ownership, respect and proper communication has been appalling - over a week to response to some emails. When we tackled the store, they were disappointed as they believed the job was closed off and unaware of this, trying to get any accountable progress was challenging. With the only route being remote email and calls, this has been a low point in the whole process.
As we have rectification work now needed because of the rectification work, which has also picked up original workmanship issues along the way, our level of trust and satisfaction in what should be a highlight of our home, has been marred.
A conversation with Paul at Huddersfield also identified further non-compliance issues, which were also highlighted by Neff.

Please note, I am aware of customers who have excellent completed kitchen projects with glowing reports, which makes me think it is luck of the draw. You are at the mercy of which fitted is allocated, and whether you property works with Wickes one size fits all approach. Equally whether the centralised team are even on top of the installs, the local store knew more and were keen to progress things. Perhaps because they had a meaningful relationship with customers.

Mixing paint advice

I visited the Wisbech store and was given some very good advice by Harvey. He was very thorough and polite in explaining what was needed for me to mix a dulux paint in their store with an eggshell mixer to create a paint suitable to apply to kitchen cabinets. I was very pleased with the advice given to me and although I didn’t purchase the paint on this visit I wanted to be prepared for when I was ready to decorate my kitchen cupboards fully. I felt very reassured and excited to be able to get the dream colour paint for my kitchen revamp. Thanks again Harvey :)

First class service

Emily has been a pleasure to work with and has provided a first class service.
She listened to my requirements when she visited and had great ideas on how to make the most out of the space available, keeping in mind the best look for my kitchen.
She has been available when I had questions and fully explained the whole buying/installation process.
I would definitely recommend Emily if you are considering having a kitchen fitted.

Poor customer service

Poor customer service. I asked a supervisor in my local store about having a kitchen worktop cut to length and delivered. She told me rather dismissively that they don't cut material in that store and that I'd have to go to Enfield (which is right the other side of London from Catford, where I was!). When I got home, I used their online customer service robot which stores near me would cut and deliver. I was told by it to check the website. You cannot filter that information on their website. I phoned customer services and spoke to a real person who said she needed a product code first, which I of course did not have because it was a general enquiry. Once my enquiry was understood I was put on hold while dhe tried to find out. When she got back she said I should check the website because they don't have the information I need. Round and round in circles! Come on, Wickes, your customers deserve much better service than this.

Don't trust the price below item

Went to purchase garden fence 6x4 feet advertised for £23, it was marked £23 under the item, on the check out they said it was £30 and the one I wanted was out of stock, this happens often where the space is stocked with another item and they don't change the price ticket, the times I've got to the checkout and found the item is a different price and always higher.

Bought a bathroom cabinet on line and…

Bought a bathroom cabinet on line and had to pay extra for delivery. When the cabinet bits were missing and it was not fit for purpose. Trying to get it collected took a long time and the couriers called to get it and left without taking. Eventually it was collected and I had a refund for the cabinet but not the postage. I would understand if I had changed my mind, but they sent a very poor product.
Would advise not to use online ordering

Kitchen purchase and design

We went to finalise our purchase of a kitchen following a home visit by one of their designers Raphael, he was brilliant and very knowledgeable , no sales pressure just a guiding hand through the process.
