my stupoid ass take but ive been watching a bunch of videos about the star wars sequels which i only watched the first of back in 2015 when it came out anddd. doesnt it just kinda seem like nightmare movies. like one of them is just theyre on a ship thats probably gonna get rocked by the new order and its just a desperation movie. which feels wrong. it feels very wrong for a star wars story to just be about characters in like a very dark situation like that. its very scary to me like its very unsettling in kind of a dreamish way almost. like a pet death dream or something

scary. scary. its a little scary. not so much the exposure im used to that now but kinda the ontology of it. like why me lol. i mean i get why the personality i take on is popular but in terms of being born into the sort of position where i could become this person folks see and appreciate so much. how im in just this. extremely small demographic. you never expect to have an impact on the world. it feels very strange to be even marginally above that like i am. idk. i think about it so so much. mmffff.

i think in recent years the marvel movies have taken a bold shift from adapting the once-groundbreaking postmodern tradition to now sticking by that exact same formula for a simple and cynical profit motive, hiding behind boilerplate irony and exhausting metatextuality among everything else. possibly one of the final remnants of the postmodern era. i dont know where we are right now but it certainly seems to me like twilight of the gods for the likes of pynchon and lyotard, though i do still hope to read shadow ticket once it comes out in paperback. we’re at a plateau of subversion. we’ve climbed the staircase and i think the only next step is forward rather than up.
