Inktober is here! I won't be following the official prompts; instead I'll be focusing mostly on fanart, and I'll be challenging myself with only using the brush pen I got several months ago. I still haven't mastered it yet, but I really love using it. Happy Halloween, everyone!

After nearly four years working the night shift in a two-star hotel, I eventually found myself unemployed and moving back into my old town. The city is not for me. Too many assholes looking to destroy you at every turn while pretending to be your friends. Five years total, wasted in the hospitality industry. I'm not going back for a sixth in a third hotel. Fuck that, honestly.
But. That doesn't mean I'm just sitting on my ass eating snacks, watching movies, playing video games and getting fat--although I am also doing that--I'm using this time to reflect on myself and actually write some of the books I've been planning on writing for years. Since my firing in April, I've written about four hundred pages across four projects, two of which are second editions that improve upon the original work by a significant margin (one of them is so radically changed that I'm calling it the "director's cut"). I plan on publishing two books by the end of the year.
I've also had more time to draw, as you guys may have noticed. I've set a goal for myself--20k words written and 30 illustrations drawn per month. Keeps the creative juices flowing while I explore new tools and techniques and themes. I can't say life is swell outside of that, since my employment insurance was denied for some bullshit reason (appeals fell on deaf ears) so I'm sitting in welfare hell until I can get myself righted again and sort out some other stuff.
Anyway. Stay tuned.

My God. This is it. Ground zero. I have achieved what many men and women have achieved before. User of the Day on Newgrounds! The peak of my abilities. The pinnacle of all my achievements! The greatest accomplishment in all my thirty years and eighteen days of living on this planet! BOW!! BOOOOWWWW BEFORE YOUR GAAAAAWWWD!!!!
I feel no different.
But thank you.

Still trying to get back in the game but unfortunately I'm locked out of my socials because Meta refuses to acknowledge my passwords or sent a code to my email. Can't use my phone right now so verifying that way is impossible. Naturally it's the only route Meta will allow. Pricks.
In the meantime, I'll be uploading art I've done since I went dark over the next few days. Hope you guys like it.

Currently on hiatus, in case anyone's noticed. A lot of shit has gone down in the past month so I haven't really been able to post. I have a huge backlog of artworks I'll be uploading once I get things settled though. Haven't been able to use the internet at home and I'm moving towns soon. Hopefully I'll be back in a couple weeks at most, but who the hell knows anymore.
Stay tuned.

Special thanks to STearleArt for the heads up.
Any fellow artists who post on Instagram should be aware of Meta now making the moves to steal your art. You can send requests to opt out but they leave the options open for themselves to decline your request and steal your shit anyway.
Pretty pissed about this myself. Not sure where I'll go from here. Best of luck to you all.

We're already more than a third way through the year of our Lord, 2024. I have accomplished nothing. Where does all that time go?

Greetings, all. Happy new year, indeed. Sure hope it's better than 2023, which was rife with human rights violations across the pond and corporations making every platform from emails to image-posting even less creator-friendly than ever before here within Western borders. Bravo! Our world gets a little more dystopian every day.
Well, on a lighter note; luckily we have Newgrounds, still. Sweet, uncompromised Newgrounds. Knock on wood. Last year I surpassed my goal of 150 illustrations with a total of 182! Wowza! I still have a lot to learn, and thus a long way to go, so this year my goal is to make 200 illustrations using both pen and paint, with a few of my usual touch-ups in Photoshop whenever required.
In other news, I'm in the process of publishing a new action/thriller called Death Under Candyland's Eye, and I'm super excited about it, so allow me to shamelessly plug this thing for a second. It's about two men linked to the CIA whose private war soon escalates, forcing the involvement of their former employers and outside parties before a truly horrendous scandal can be brought to the world's attention.
I'm rather excited about this one. And it's the first book with cover art not done by myself, but by a super cool dude named Arial ZB, whom you may know as the artist responsible for a plethora of synthwave covers, like Perturbator's earlier LPs or Trevor Something Does Not Exist. The paperback will be out on the 4th and can be found among my other books if you follow the Amazon link below!

Anyway, I hope everyone on here stays safe and I hope your 2024 is better than your 2023 was, whether your 2023 was good or bad. With everything that's been happening in the world, I didn't think we'd make it this far. Hopefully in that regard I'm continuously proven wrong.

What the title says. Hopefully next year will be better.
