Le sigh
All I want to do is reblog cute soft pretty pink things but I have stuff demanding my attention 😩
I don’t know who needs to hear this, but word definitions are entirely subjective. This is why one word can have several meanings and uses. If something doesn’t fit the definition of a word, we can either make up an entirely new word or adjust the definition to be more accurate to what we’re describing.
You do not get to cry and scream about society “changing” the definition of language when language is ever evolving and new words and definitions are always being created. Nor do you get to ignore or change the new definitions to fit your backwards way of being.
One of the downsides of following people who are vocally anti-terf and engage with them: occasionally Tumblr recommends me terfy radfems to follow.
Like no Tumblr I’m on the other side of that one
“We should bring back being pretenious; yes I am better than fans of X popular media”
“We should start gatekeeping cool things again”
“We need to -”
Congrats! You’ve reinvented hipsters!
It’s not like these attitudes have ever gone away first of all.
Secondly, I like myself a whole lot better when I just let myself enjoy what I like and I mind my own business.
So I’m going to be over here unironically enjoying the things people create and not thinking too hard about it.
Life is too short to care that much.
This is definitely going to be a controversial post but I think even if everyone involved is canonically a minor, I still think it’s really weird for minors to be making posts about how you can’t do certain things to the characters of an adult show.
We didn’t have a whole Sexual Revolution in the 1970s so that chronically online teenagers today can talk out their ass about how “bdsm is abuse” and “sex has no narrative purpose in media” and “wearing sexy clothes is non-consensually involving people in your relationship” 🙄
It’s crazy how “children should be mindful of adults in adult online spaces” is such a controversial take and by that I mean I hope any minor who disagrees with me gets grounded off the internet and banned from interacting with said adults.
Why is it every terf I run into also seems to be a giant islamaphobe too?
On that note the amput of overlap with exclus/gatekeepers, the pro-life crowd, and the anti-mask/anti-vaxx crowd is astonishing
You folks do know that exclusionism and gatekeeping is the norm for society right? Society is not an inclusive place - we talk all the time of the power structures used to exclude others.
It’s not radical to tell people they’re not allowed in. It’s not progressive to tell people they can’t join your club. There is no way to dismantle the power structures oppressing us by replicating them in our community.
There is no ‘good’ or 'righteous’ way to exclude people.
Bisexuals stop talking over and for pansexuals please and thanks
oh, the irony
Pansexuals stop redefining bisexuality over and over in an attempt to force your Freudian self-fellatio onto us please and thanks
See, that’s the point tho.
Those people you’re talking about? They’re assholes.
The people I was talking about in my post are also assholes.
The moral of the story? Don’t be an asshole
Bisexuals stop talking over and for pansexuals please and thanks
oh, the irony
I made this post instead of responding to an essay written by a panphobic bisexual talking about “The Two Main Reasons Pansexuals Identify The Way They Do” sooooooo
