Through the phone I swear she knew
She could smell rotting bones
& what did she do?

I had a dream my mother told me, crying, that he had been suffering for her
He had said “it’s like we’re in the car, it’s too warm for me but it’s perfect for you, so I say nothing” everyone in the dream was me, even the car. Even the heat.
