I love willing guard dogs <3 I love characters who devote themselves to someone to an all consuming and unhealthy extent and are aware of it and decide they don't care. I love when characters will tear the world apart for the ones they love regardless of whether or not they have any feelings about it. I love when a characters morals mean nothing next to the person they love. I love when they are fully capable of taking care of themselves and want to be owned and doted on anyway. I love when they brutally murder someone and the other looks at them with silent approval and they preen just a little, knowing they're doing a good job. I love. Guard dogs <3
I love when they look to their companion/handler for instructions on what to do subconsciously. I love when they're covered in blood and burying their face in their chest saying they're so glad they're safe. I love when they could be free and choose not to be, because why would they ever want that when their Person is right here? I love when someone refers to them as that persons attack dog and they don't even deny it. I love horrible toxic and mutually obsessive attack dog and handler dynamics hello hello hello-
ive always rly liked the idea of a member of a group of adventurers having what everyone assumes is very well trained hawk and then at the end of their journey its casually revealed that thats actually just his buddy whos a shapeshifter and just rly likes being a hawk
the guy also like thinks everyone knows bc he never tries to hide the fact that the hawk is a person but everyone assumes hes always just joking. like the others being like "damn its crazy how he knows exactly what you want him to do its like he knows english or something." and the guy is just like "well yeah thats his first language so ofc he's fluent??" and they all go "haha good one" and move on, leaving him confused
they just think hes a quirky guy that really loves his pet and says things like "the 9 of us" even tho there are clearly only 8 people! he just cares about the bird so much he counts it as a group member haha !
btw if youre young and scared of doing adult things without your parents ive learned that like 90% of the time you can just tell the doctors office or the dmv "haha sorry ive never done this without help before... can you show me how to do this?" the employee will not care. if that means anything to you

also facades and false identities are so fun . many such variations.
someone accidentally slipping further into a facade than they intended . someone purposefully retreating further into a facade . someone accidentally dropping their normally impeccable facade for a moment . someone purposefully letting their facade down as a taunt or mockery or in a genuine way because they're finally in a situation where they don't need the facade anymore . someone whose facade really is just a tool that they have complete control over and it never falters or fails . someone whose facade is the opposite and they're having a really bad time trying to maintain their facade or trying to maintain their true self under the facade . many such good options. all fun.
